Good morning all from sunny Harrogate
Good that you are feeling better GrandMattie.
Enjoy your trip Chrissielou!
Once you’ve got your new glasses you’ll be a new man Mick
Oh Marydoll my sympathies are with you. Fingers crossed it is all straight forward, it sounds such a palaver!
Had an extremely busy day yesterday, starting with an early shower before an early appointment with the consultant at the hospital. No decision made until I’ve seen a cardiologist, I might need surgery time will tell! Went into town after and bought some bras from M&S. first time I’ve tried on bras since before covid, had a coffee the DH picked me up to go to curry’s - has anyone tried phoning major companies recently? It’s a nightmare. When I returned a non working printer ? yesterday, I’d handed in a lead that didn’t come with the replacement, but couldn’t phone them to ask them to put it aside!! Yesterday morning- No Curry’s did not still have the printer or lead and they don’t sell that lead!! I would have to order it online. That proved tricky trying to get a lead by the weekend. We left Curry’s feeling quite angry. I had my Sainsburies shopping coming in the afternoon, then tried to put in my order for next week and the lines where down for the website. So tried to phone Canon support- they no longer have a working support line either. Eventually phoned Sainsburies who thought I should download another browser, which I did but still couldn’t get their website, after restarting my workbook, I finally got it, then concentrated on trying to set up the printer without the lead- finally did it early evening. Now DH will want me to set it up from his PC Oh! the joys!
Have the best day possible folks!

Gooooood morning everyone smile from a very sunshinesunshinesunshinesunshine Yorkshire .... Yeahhh an instant feelgood factor.

Yesterday i visited my GS Easter Parade at school, all the children had decorated Easter hats, it was fabulous. Then we went to a charity shop near me and i bought 4 items of clothing that i am going to do my magic trick and abracadabra its now a drawstring bag hahaha.

Then i am going to visit my neighbour who has had some upset news.

Enjoy your day everyone, i hope the sunshine reaches your neck of the woods. smile

Marydoll Fri 08-Apr-22 08:02:23

Thank you all for your kind messages.
I am NEGATIVE! Now I can start worrying about tomorrow's test. ? I just need to face it head on, as I usually do. I am a Taurean, says it all! I am the epitome of the bull in the China shop.?

Fortunately, we have moved on from two years ago, with access to vaccines and anti virals, and the scientists understanding the virus better, so I am hopeful.
However, I just cannot forget being told, at the beginning of the pandemic, that I would die if I caught Covid. ?

We are supposed to be going away to a cottage DD had booked for us and I had lso planned a family, Easter dinner. ☹ Not seeing Dollie and now this, is indeed, (in Soops words) a buggeration.

I do feel quite chesty, ( my over active imagination has kicked in),but hoping it is just my usual hay fever.
There is one positive for me. The drug I inject myself with for my RA has been successfully used to treat Covid patients in ICU. I have a supply in the fridge.
The irony is that it the drug which makes me susceptible to Covid, is the one which could save me. That does appeal to my quirky sense of humour! I still can't get my head around that. How does that work?

The sun has come out, so some pottering in the garden later, may be a plan. I have neglected it, due to feeling unwell. I find it soothes my soul, when I am working in it.

Have the best of days, folks.

Good morning all from the Suffolk seaside. Nice and sunny, no wind but still chilly. Yesterday was biblical! ????☀️?.

I went to see The Duke at our little cinema and really enjoyed it. Brilliant actors.

More clearing out today . Heating engineer came and it’s a whole new system that’s needed in our very old cottage. Lots of work but we will go back to Essex and leave him to it.

Chrissielou - enjoy your break away. It really does do you good! ?

Marydoll fingers crossed for you.?.

GM as always - thinking of you.?

Best wishes to all ???

Morning all from a grey West Oxfordshire. ??? to lots of you. Son, partner and granddaughter are calling in later around tea time and staying the night. Looking forward to that.

Grammaretto Fri 08-Apr-22 08:34:47

Good Morning all from the Scottish Borders. Another busy day for me but I will take a LFT before I go off galivanting. and scrape the ice off the car windscreen
What a worry Marydoll but as you say, that was before the vaccines and anti-viral meds. I hope your DH isn't too poorly.

I laughed at Matt's cartoon today too Urms thank you for the giggle. And yes I often wonder about Gillybob

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny Northampton, at last the terrible wind has dropped, but showers forecast this afternoon. I shall leave the washing till tomorrow.

I was anxiously watching my fence in the very gusty winds yesterday, but it is still upright. Shall have to contact the fence man, and inform the neighbours at the back in case he needs access to their garden.

A good ballet class yesterday afternoon, followed by the first of our evening walks, then a nice pub meal out in the company of some fellow walkers, and raised a glass to my friend who has a birthday this weekend.

Off on my little shopping jaunt later, and will probably have a bit of lunch out.

Hoping Marydoll manages to escape Covid, fingers crossed! Wishing all a good Friday.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Grandmadinosaur Fri 08-Apr-22 08:45:07

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. There is a beautiful blue sky here.

Yesterday we spent an easy day. DH took a couple of work related calls and we went for a short walk as he wanted to get out the house for a while. Had a Costa and then back. Only 5 minutes walk each way but he knew he’d done it. GS came after school and as both of us aren’t 100% we put a film on for him, he had his tea and then we played games on the CBBies website.

DH has said he is feeling a lot better today.
Today I have a shopping delivery mid morning. We may go local and have some lunch later. As I’m not sure what DH may fancy for an evening meal at the moment he turned it back on me and said what did I fancy? I said to have something cooked for me. So we will go round the corner to a nice little place.
This evening plans are cancelled. We should have been at a ball but obviously not going now. I also (my preference) have chance to go to a concert in town. Still can but no one to go with and no taxi service! I shan’t go to the ball ?

Take care everyone especially ones with illness etc ?

grandMattie Fri 08-Apr-22 08:50:33

Glad about your news, Marydoll.
Don’t remember 2 years ago. The delta form was extremely severe, whilst the omicron one is generally much, much milder, despite being more infectious.

monk08 Fri 08-Apr-22 08:51:35

Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
So many people now catching covid, hoping DH gets his 2nd negative today then we can try and get back to some sort of normality.
Marydoll what a worry ? for a negative we have a friend who will have to go through the same process as you should he succumb, his wife is also CEV.
Safe travels anyone travelling, best wishes for anyone celebrating and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Friday and may you all find some ?.

EkwaNimitee Fri 08-Apr-22 09:03:52

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny but frosty Carlisle. I am planning a morning in the front garden planting the roses I acquired last weekend. Since when the weather has not been good and nor have I. I've still got a bit of swirling about in the head and ears, if it keeps hanging about, I shall consult the doc. My main concern is the relatively trivial one of having holidays ruined. Though it's not trivial to me, travel being one of life's passions.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you Marydoll. Covid you do not need.
DS2 tells me we'll all get covid sooner or later. I was sceptical then but from just reading this thread, it seems he could be right. I'm still mask wearing inside shops etc but I'm in a minority.
Wishing you all a pleasant day if possible.

Oopsadaisy1 Fri 08-Apr-22 09:22:40

Good morning from a calmer but dull Oxfordshire, it was so windy yesterday, but warm and sunny in the conservatory.
Ear ache again today but with my strong Hay fever tablets it will go in a bit, it’s a nuisance though as they knock me out and I haven’t had to use them for some years now.
Anyway, Marydoll it took 4 days for me to catch Covid from MrOops, so remain vigilant, I was so scared that it would affect my asthma, but I was ok, im sure that the vaccines will be as effective for you.
Cooking today MrOops wants to make Keto bread today so we’ve had to buy ingredients in especially, let’s hope he likes it because all the stuff came in huge (expensive) bags.
Hope all with family worries have a better day today, pleased that you are getting your confidence back Mick it’s a brave thing to do on your own.
Urms love Matt today.
Have a good day all.??????

Urmstongran Fri 08-Apr-22 09:31:57

FWIW Marydoll a friend of ours is in a similar situation to you. He had a liver transplant (not alcohol related) 5y ago and has the same rescue plan. He too has managed to swerve Covid so far.

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s sunny and bright in my corner of Lancashire this morning, still quite a stiff breeze, currently 7°C.

I have a hair appointment this morning, not much planned for this afternoon. If FannyCornforth is reading this, yes another one already grin

Well done on tackling the bus journey Mick. Great that your new glasses are ready too.

Sorry to see your DH now has Covid Marydoll, will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Hope your DH gets sorted soon Beauregard.

I adore the rock shop Harrigran, I have an amethyst heart on a silver chain. I’m glad you’re enjoying the break.

Matt is very sharp witted Urms, I enjoy the daily dose!

Thinking of all our grans going through difficult times. I hope everyone has the best day possible.

Good morning all, all the best for those with sadness and worries, and MD ?for being negative. (not how it sounds!)
Exciting day yesterday….we had our booster vaccinations, my husband drove to pharmacy, the car has only moved 3 times in last six months so felt almost celebratory .More excitement in a couple of weeks. ……I get my replacement teeth.??

Alioop Fri 08-Apr-22 11:19:04

Good morning from Co. Antrim. It's sunny for now, but cold. I'm lying in bed after a kidney stones operstion yesterday and feeling sorry for myself. I fainted through the night so thank goodness my sister had stayed with me. The stent is out on Monday and I have to get well for Wednesday to go to the Belfast Opera House to see The Story of The Osmonds. ?

Feelingmyage55 Fri 08-Apr-22 11:38:10

Good morning from a cold north of Scotland. It is quite funny to see the daffodils in the snow.
Just popped in to send my best wishes to all, especially the Grandmatties and Marydoll. If I remember correctly Marydoll, you have had an extra booster? Hopefully that will be giving an extra layer of protection.
Right I better go and buy some fresh veg for the weekend to go with the leftovers in the bottom of the freezer. Then I will spring clean the fridge freezer, put all the little bits from the shelves back together and restock with more springlike less stodgy food.
My best wishes to everyone and ? to gillybob and Panache.

hulahoop Fri 08-Apr-22 11:46:56
