Princess Anne is my favourite royal, she's so hard working.
She's always been slim & trim, but yes, you may be right, she looked extra slender at her father's memorial service.
I hope & trust that she is well.

She does look thinner but she is a very fit and taking on more responsibilities and I expect they are all worried about the Queen's health.

I think she is as conscious of her diet and weight as her brother Charles and her father. She also likes to wear clothes from when she was a girl, well, young woman.

In the last year she's lost her father, seen her brother accused of very serious activities, and her mother grow much frailer. Also, I think her son's marriage broke up. A sad time overall for her.

I saw her about three years ago and she doesn't seem any thinner. What she was wearing for the memorial service was lovely.

When I saw her then she was wearing a green suit which was obviously older, perhaps remodelled, I was struck then by how slim she was.

Not in line with the thread, but at the Memorial Service I saw a huge facial resemblance between HM and Princess Anne which I had never noticed before, especially around the eyes. Princess Anne has always been so hard working and, for a Royal, quite frugal. I admire her greatly. She has always been very slim and I haven't noticed any difference.

I’m another who likes Princess Anne for her sensible approach. She doesn’t appear entitled, unlike her brother, and seems very comfortable in her skin. She has a farm and stables/horses and earns her own living. She has no security unless she’s involved in royal duties.

Another here who admires Princess Anne for her hard work, her forthrightness and her dedication to duty. I hope she’s well and goes on for a good while yet.

She looks good. Must have lost a couple of pounds for her trip Down Under. She looks good for her age (mine) and she seems quite fit and healthy. I like her no nonsense approach, definitely my favourite royal!

I like Princess Anne as well. I haven't noticed any weight loss, but I just wish she'd get rid of that awful hairstyle. She's had it ever since I can remember! Perhaps just to wear her hair down for a change would be an improvement.

I agree that she is remarkably grounded and sensible for a royal. I haven't noticed her weight though. Isn't she quite tall? She perhaps watches her weight in order to look good in her clothes. (Can you tell I'm envious?)

welbeck Wed 13-Apr-22 21:18:32

maybe it was because she was wearing trousers; i noticed how thin her knees looked.
i also thought, facially, she resembles her mother more now.
and i don't see anything wrong with her hair.
it's the way she wants to wear it. looks fine to me.

JaneJudge Wed 13-Apr-22 21:20:46

she has always been very very slim

Callistemon21 Wed 13-Apr-22 23:22:57

Isn't she quite tall?

I don't think so, she's a bit taller than me at about 5' 6"

She said she does it herself in about five minutes (can't stand fuss).

I’m another fan of Princess Ann, my preferred Royal after the Queen. Has a documentary been made of her trip to Australia by any chance because I didn’t see any on the TV?

Calendargirl Thu 14-Apr-22 06:40:56

Her hair probably doesn’t look very flattering because I imagine the texture of it has changed as she has got older, more coarse and wiry maybe.

I admire the woman for being in the public eye and not giving a stuff what anyone thinks about her clothes, hairstyle, home furnishings…..

Lucca Thu 14-Apr-22 07:26:12

It’s not important of course but her hairstyle is dreadful! I bet if she had it cut short she’d look really good.

Clawdy Thu 14-Apr-22 08:34:28

I like Anne, but yes, that old fashioned hair and unsmiling face make her look older than she is.

snowberryZ Thu 14-Apr-22 08:43:37

I admire Princess Ann.
She doesn't flaunt her wealth.
Camilla comes across as similar.

Lucca Thu 14-Apr-22 09:00:49

How would you expect her to “flaunt her wealth” ?! Do any of the RF do that ? (Dangerous question I realise )

She has a pretty good life, plenty horses etc.

Anyway this is about her being slim. Lots of women become thinner with age and lots gain weight, no big deal.

snowberryZ Thu 14-Apr-22 22:18:46

When I say she doesn't flaunt her wealth I mean she doesn't come across as someone who likes a lots of tacky bling, like some celebrities seem to.

That was our GP's theory - women either became fatter or thinner after the menopause.
Unfortunately I got fatter (not too fat but no longer a size 12).

I should imagine Princess Anne is very active and very self-disciplined.
