Good Morning Everybody ,
Its light ,and a clear sky here in brackley this morning .
I am in 2 minds whether to go to Bicester later , or have a day in .
I would rather gradually start to use the buses but at my pace .
Take Care,
Mick

Not a pretty sight gMattie, I import my bra from the German factory Disselstopumfloppin, couldn’t possibly remove it in public.

EkwaNimitee Thu 14-Apr-22 10:04:27

Good morning Mick and everyone from a mild and sunny Carlisle.
The landscapers are currently here and are laying slabs down for paths now that I have finally decided where I want them. I'm very pleased with their timing as it now means I can spend the holiday finishing off the infrastructure and buying more plants, some perennials this time.
I'm resting up today as I still feel a bit wobbly after my venesection...it takes an ageing body longer to recover! I do have a dental checkup in town this afternoon though. I've been waiting ages for it in spite of it being a private dentist too.

Good luck Marydoll, I'll be thinking of you. The medics seem to have you properly in hand so that's a good start.

Welcome to all you newbies, keep posting!
And happy holidays to everyone, hoping those of you unwell/with problems have some better times.

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s sunny and bright in my corner of Lancashire this morning, currently 7°C.

You’ve managed it once Mick, you will manage it again. See how you feel, no need to rush it.

Reading in the garden sounds like a good plan Ashcombe. I will look up your friend’s books.

How odd that your DH felt better without the drugs, hope you have a peaceful day Grandmattie.

So very sorry you have Covid Marydoll. Will keep everything crossed for you and MrMD.

Love the bonnet Gagagran, sure to raise a smile!

Best wishes to you and your daughter Kitty. Lovely new for your daughter Scentia.

Hope you get a -ve test soon Jax.

Welcome to this friendly thread Echt and Mak27.

Yesterday’s lunch with BiL was such fun, we’ve agreed we must do it again soon. I’m rather tired today but no pressing things to deal with. I’ll just pooter along at my own pace. The physio exercises are working so shall keep on with those.

My morning cuppa is all gone and my meds are taken so I guess I’d better leave my comfy bed now. I do enjoy a gentle start to the day, propped up on pillows reading your posts and sipping my tea.

Thinking of all our grans going through difficult times. Wishing everyone the best day possible flowers

Ooooh, LauraNorderr, !! grin.

This is early for me.! I'm often too late for this thread, but I always try to read, such lovely folk on here.

Welcome to all the newcomers.

Marydoll Thu 14-Apr-22 09:48:26

Thank you all for your kind words.
I am already on a drip and so far, so good. I have had exceptional treatment from lovely staff. The doctor read my notes and said, "Oh dear!" ?
I always have a typed list of allergies and all my meds handy. It makes life so much easier and speeds things up. She was most impressed and asked if I was a teacher, by any chance. I wonder why!
An added bonus, a parking space at the door!

grandMattie Thu 14-Apr-22 09:45:15

Come on then, Laura, bare all! ?

gillgran Thu 14-Apr-22 09:43:33

Good morning Mick, good morning and welcome echt and mak27 and good morning all the rest from dry Anglesey where the sky is a whiter shade of pale.
Great news Scentia, such a relief for you all.
So much going on this morning hard to single out anyone without missing someone. Wishing you all a good day with Easter bonnets, missing ballet class, minding grandchildren, art classes, reading a good book, looking after the sick, flooring the sewing machine, whatever you’re doing.
Speedy recovery to all covid warriors, special thoughts with Marydoll, you’re in good hands and I wish you well.
Keep on looking for and appreciating those random pink flamingos everyone

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Off to group today a lot of chat and very little painting I expect as this is the last one before an Easter break. DD2 is picking me up for quick shopping trip later I hope.

Good morning from Durham. It’s very grey, but I haven’t been outside yet. Feeling s bit groggy this morning as I was doing an email through to 3am this morning, then was unable to get to sleep until 5am and only for a couple of hours.
I’ve DD2s older dog here, but took the crazy youngster home on Tuesday. He’s no bother and at 13 sleeps quite a bit of the day.
Interesting posts today - some good news, some not so good. Isn’t life a patchwork in progress?
A leisurely day today - coffee with a friend at her house as she awaits a JL delivery. Dog walk, ironing and perhaps a bit of gardening later.
Have a good day. X

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

harrigran Thu 14-Apr-22 09:07:24

Good morning from an overcast NE again but it is 10 degrees.
Yesterday the sun managed to put in an appearance in late afternoon and I had some time in the garden.
DD and SIL are coming today and DD will take me shopping, I need to get Easter eggs for GDs who have said they are not too old to enjoy them. I am very grateful to have DD here but she will have to return to Belgium after Easter as SIL is now on the mend but not yet driving.
Oh dear Marydoll, so sorry to hear you caught the dreaded virus. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Thoughts are with your DD kitty, very rapid release from hospital after surgery but hospitals are not restful places.
Thinking of gM and her DH.

aggie Thu 14-Apr-22 08:59:40

Good morning to everyone from a dry, clear Yorkshire.

I am sat in my kitchen looking out of the window watching the sheep in the field eat grass and thinking how lucky I am that I'm not a sheep !!!!

Well, today I have hairdressers but not till 3pm so i have decided that I am going to drive to a garden centre nearby and enjoy a coffee and cake ... WHY NOT I tell myself !

Before the coffee and cake takes place, I am going to aim my foot towards the pedal of my sewing machine and strum up another ...... bag !! ( ive that many bags in the drawer it will hardly close hahaha )

Enjoy your day everyone whatever you're doing...

smile

monk08 Thu 14-Apr-22 08:46:53

Mapleleaf Thu 14-Apr-22 08:42:11

Good morning all,

A cloudy but also sunny start to the day here at the moment. I hope to get into the garden to plant a few plants I took as cuttings last year.

So sorry to read you have covid Marydoll and do hope that the medics sort you out quickly and that you don’t feel ropey for long, and are soon back to feeling stronger again.

Welcome, echt. It doesn’t matter that you aren’t a gran. Quite a few of us aren’t.

Take your time, mick and if you feel like a bus trip today, fine, but if you want to give it a miss today, that’s fine too.

I haven’t read all the posts yet, only some, so will go back and catch up after my breakfast.

Take care everyone.

Grandmadinosaur Thu 14-Apr-22 08:41:32

I haven’t heard of the Book box you mentioned bluesapphire so I’ve googled and what a great idea. I have a friends birthday next month and I never know what to buy her . This sounds perfect. Thank you for mentioning it.

Pittcity Thu 14-Apr-22 08:36:01

I posted before reading the thread and would like to welcome Marydoll to the Covid club. There are a lot of us who have or have had it on here. All the best at the hospital and I look forward to reading the book!

Hugs all around ?

BlueSapphire Thu 14-Apr-22 08:34:46

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny Northampton, a nice change after yesterday's grey wet weather. My plans for an afternoon of weeding in the garden were scuppered by a constant stream of heavy prolonged showers. So I spent the time making good inroads into my new book.

I also rang a dear friend to warn her of the imminent arrival of her birthday present (she turns 80 on Saturday); I have ordered a Teatime Book Box for her - it contains two new best-selling books, some coffee, biscuits, a mug, a book bag, a bookmark and other literary items. I hope she likes it. Didn't tell her what the present was, but warned her to expect a parcel.

Sainsbury's delivery expected in a while, so must get my skates on. Will be too wet to get on the garden today, so another afternoon of reading. Shall give ballet and evening walk a miss, as I still have my cold, but still testing negative.

Oh dear Marydoll, the rotten Covid managed to find you; but you are in good hands and everything seems to be under control.

Welcome to all our new and returned posters. I love this daily thread, and hope you will too.

Urmstongran Thu 14-Apr-22 08:31:50

? Mak27 looking forward to hearing from you after your Easter break.

Jaxjacky Thu 14-Apr-22 08:29:10

Good morning from a misty S Hants. Welcome echt and Mak27.
How bizarre gMattie power of the mind.
Fingers crossed Scentia one of life’s gifts, congratulations.
Pleased your DD is home safely kitty it’s very traumatic.
No real plans today as still +ve, thé weariness is up and down, garden pottering I expect.
Best wishes and a swift recovery to those poorly.
Enjoy your day ??

dragonfly46 Thu 14-Apr-22 08:28:16

I meant to say your DD kitty!

GrannySomerset Thu 14-Apr-22 08:26:10

DSiL is with me to drive me to their home for Easter, so I had better get a move on. Hope I can remember what I need to take with me!

Sorry about Marydoll after taking care for so long Hope the drugs work for her and that she can defeat this wretched virus. There really does appear to be no escape .
