Dancing...

The thread on weddings got me thinking of dancing. I love to dance but hardly get the chance anymore!

Do you like to dance, and any particular style? Love dancing to disco and rock/pop music. No style at all, but we can fake a waltz.
When is the last time you danced? In the kitchen with DH, even the dog joined in for some fun. I will dance by myself, taking a break from housecleaning if a good song comes on.
Previously we had a school reunion for DH in 2019 where we danced all night to 70's music.
Are you first up on the dancefloor, or do you like to sit and watch and get dragged up reluctantly? I'm up first, much to DH's chagrin; he likes a bit of liquid courage to loosen up!
Do you think you are a good dancer? I have no style at all, but we have had people say they love to watch us dance, we dance well together and have fun. Cannot jive or samba although I love Latin music.

Love to watch traditional ballet, not really in to ballroom although learned to waltz and to do the polka at school. Watch Strictly and used to enjoy Vincent and Flavia doing the Argentine Tango, wouldn’t attempt it with Orlin, bruised legs not attractive.

I had tickets to Matthew Bourne’s Nutcracker….but health issues intervened. I hear it was fabulous.loved his Swan Lake and The Red Shoes.

A little embarrassing to admit but I would be the first on the dance floor and have been. Yet I'm the most introverted personality. I can't resist the music. La Bonita would definitely get me out of my seat. In my dreams I'm a professional ice skater too. I love dance in all forms.

Oh I'm envious.
I'd love to be swept away by the music.
How lovely. smile

Not being funny MissAdventure, you could do it. Find a moment when you are alone and have some spare time. Start by sitting down and disconnect from your surroundings but don't close your eyes. Just think of a nice memory place and sway around a bit. Add in arms (and legs if you like) but don't get up, just escape and lose control of daily life. Try to react to the light or heavy sounds with the appropriate movements. Gradually it will grow on you and you can then move around.
We could start a GN virtual class in dance! grin

I love dancing, even if it’s bopping around the kitchen to 6 Music.

I would enjoy it if I had a good partner, but alas poor old dh has no sense of rhythm. At all.
I’ve often envied people whose partners are good dancers, as my DF was.

So it’s very rare that I hit the dance floor at all.
But I did last September, at a London do to celebrate a BiL’s earlier wedding that had taken place in strict-lockdown Singapore.
I was pulled on to the floor by an exceedingly lively and hilarious Venezuelan friend of the B&G, another Singapore resident.
His first words to me were, ‘I am homosexual!’ ?
I think he danced with just about every woman who didn’t actually need a Zimmer frame.

I love to dance, and am always keen to get on the dance floor. I don't let a little thing like I'm rubbish at it put me off...
As an aside, I love to see older couples dancing together- sometimes with verve and style that many young might envy.
