Happy Easter everyone, from a cloudy Glasgow, where its 11°C.

Pants, my condolences to you and your family. ?

Bella, its so uplifting to hear of news of your wee grandsons. New life at Easter, what joy!

I had a lovely surprise visit yesterday from DS2, who stood at the bottom of the garden, while I sat in a chair at the door. I hadn't seen him since he went to the USA on honeymoon. It was unexpected, because they were off to the theatre in Edinburgh.
TillyTrotter, he had brought an Easter Egg, was that your work? ?
His first words were: Mum you look like sh**t! I replied: I feel like it too!!. ☹
Later on beautiful spring flowers from the still besotted newlyweds arrived, what a lovely surprise. ?

He had just left, when DD and SIL arrived with a care package. They were rather grumpy and looked quite fragile.
Apprently, it had been SIL's works leaving do, the previous evening, their first night out in two years, so they were allowed to be fragile!
Much to my relief, their visit was short, I just wanted to go back to bed, but was trying to put on a face, so they wouldn't worry. They are so good to DH and I, I don't know how we would have survived my sheilding period, without them.

Easter dinner is a bit of disaster. I may just use the roast beef to resole DH'S shoes!
I thought I would cook it in the Ninja, to make life easier, as DH can't cook , otherwise the meat would have gone to waste.
My brain wasn't working, so I just estimated the cooking time.
I was in bed and DH, who is still struggling, fell asleep!
My only consolation is that we have both lost our sense of taste and smell,( that's why he failed to smell the aroma of charred meat), so it wouldn't have mattered anyway, what it tasted like!
I have no desire to eat, but surprisingly, I have a craving for chocolate! ? I will be like the side of a house, by the time I am released on parole.

I have always enjoyed Easter day, as a family day, so many happy memories. However, I will spend it mainly in bed.
I have had most of the named side effects of the anti virals, (not unexpected according to the doctor, given previous similar episodes) plus Covid symptoms, so a gentle day ahead.
I am on a high, a mixture of relief that I no longer need to worry about catching it, but especially the fact that I am in my own bed (despite it being a designated snore zone) and not a hospital one, as predicted. I am a very fortunate lady!!

It is good to hear that the other Covid warriors are improving, however, my thoughts are also with those, who will not find much joy today.
Safe journey Ash and OldD.
Have a lovely day folks!

Here’s Matt. I didn’t expect a cartoon till Tuesday!

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where already it’s sunny and mild. A beautiful morning indeed.

Happy Easter! We are spending the afternoon seeing my stepfather and driving him over to see the Boy Wonder and L’il Miss for an hour before coming back here to eat.

I’m going to drink my mug of tea now and read all your posts. x

Happy Easter to one and all from cool and cloudy South Lanarkshire.

Condolences to you and your family Pantglas. flowers

Bellasnana lovely to hear that your grandsons are doing well.

Mass at 11.00 followed by my first taste of chocolate for six weeks, I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to it. We’ve been invited to DD’s for a late lunch which will hopefully include more chocolate, or cake perhaps. Can you tell I’ve missed it. grin

I hope all those with illness or worry have a better day today.

baubles Sun 17-Apr-22 08:32:14

Delighted that you’re home Marydoll, there’s nothing like getting back to your own bed. Who needs roast beef when you’ve got chocolate? ?.

ShazzaKanazza Sun 17-Apr-22 08:40:34

Urmstongran Matt is a funny one today ?

Stilllearning Sun 17-Apr-22 08:43:29

Happy Easter to everyone ?✝️? and good wishes for a pleasant day.

What a lovely message Bellasnana about your little grandsons both opening their eyes when they hear their mum’s voice. Really uplifting.

Church this morning, then to DD2 for the rest of the day. It will be lovely to spend time with 12 year old DGD, she is now so busy with school, hockey and friends at weekends that time with her is fleeting. How it should be of course.

After a ‘holiday’ week of husband with Covid and son with chicken pox, youngest DD has also succumbed to the virus. It’s so frustrating not being able to help.

Very sorry to hear of your family loss Pantglas, your aunt sounded a lovely lady.

Easter blessings to everyone ???

Marydoll Sun 17-Apr-22 08:46:37

Thank you Baubles, I have found a photo of the lady, whom I thought was you! I came across it, when looking for something else! She looks nothing like you! ?
I hope you are feeling less tired. I prescribe chocolate and lots of it!!!

FannyC, has asked me to wish all Good Morningers a very happy Easter, from her bed in the Doghouse. wink

Mapleleaf Sun 17-Apr-22 08:52:18

Good morning all,

Happy Easter ?✝️.

It looks to be another nice day, though a little breezier. Not sure if it will be warm enough to sit out with our coffee at 11, but we’ll see..

Lamb for dinner today.

Enjoy your day. Take care.

Grandmadinosaur Sun 17-Apr-22 09:03:55

Good Morning and Happy Easter from sunny East Yorkshire.

Had a nice wander around Beverley yesterday. Bought some nice bits from the market. I also bought a pair of cropped grey jeans except they’re not cropped on me just normal length! That’s fine though.
Envious of you all having family days today * Shazza* I can imagine your house full of noise, laughter and love!

We are home alone so I think we may go for a walk in our happy place at home - our Marina. We will have a coffee or even something stronger as it is first day for DH off his Antibiotics so he can drink ?

Lamb steaks for our main meal so much quicker than a full roast I’m looking forward to it.

Enjoy Easter Sunday everyone.

Anniebach Sun 17-Apr-22 09:10:13

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

EkwaNimitee Sun 17-Apr-22 09:11:27

Good morning Mick and everyone from a bright Carlisle where the sun keeps trying to get out. It's been mostly cloudy here for the past 2 days though certainly milder.
I shall try to get out in the garden especially as the forecast for tomorrow is not good. The landscapers have finished and I have a large square of ground to fork over and feed before planting up with some perennials and installing a metal obelisk for a climbing rose. I was out on yet another visit to the garden centre yesterday and apart from the above, hauled home several bags of gravel. The poor car's backside sagged and I thought I heard it groan! Although that may have been me, they were heavy.
I hope you all have an enjoyable day and that the unwell are on the mend.

Jaxjacky Sun 17-Apr-22 09:17:33

You’re garden work seems never ending EkwaNimitee I hope you have a chance to put your feet up at some point and are recovered from your venesection after effects.

Oopsadaisy1 Sun 17-Apr-22 09:19:10

Good morning everyone from a beautiful morning in Oxfordshire.
Pleased to hear the babies are doing well and that you are getting a bit better Marydoll.
Roast for dinner today, all prepped last night, I had a busy day yesterday, bad new always stresses me out and I have to keep busy, so I cleaned the house, mowed the lawns, made 2 Keto loaves, I rose perfectly but didn’t taste of much, one only rose about 2 inches but tasted wonderful, according to MrOops.
( they aren’t for me ) so as I’m changing US measurements into grams, more work needs to be done on the recipe.
Good news is that MzOops came out of clink in the early hours. That girl will turn my hair grey.
At least I can now relax and enjoy my Easter Sunday.
Hope all of you lovely ladies manage to find some joy today.

harrigran Sun 17-Apr-22 09:25:27

Good morning from a mild NE.
Vaccination centre was busy, crowds of people milling around made me feel uncomfortable. I didn't have my reading glasses with me and they gave me forms to fill in, I coped by holding the clipboard at arm's length. I am expecting some communication from the NHS after the answers I filled in. One question was " do you ever feel a little down or lonely " ? Bearing in mind I was recently widowed who wouldn't be ?
DD is visiting this afternoon.
Enjoy the sunshine.

luluaugust Sun 17-Apr-22 09:26:50

Happy Easter from a sunny W Kent.
Off to DD2 for lunch and hope to sit in their lovely garden.

Gwenisgreat1 Sun 17-Apr-22 09:34:29

Let’s try again, my first message went into the ether!! Nice and sunny here in Harrogate
Good to hear your DH seems more settled GeandMattie.
Sympathies Pantglas
Yesterday I had a whirlwind for most of the day. It was my DGS, now 8, but still very small for his age. Every toy was out on the floor and he read some books, then had the garden toys out! We took him to the park where he decided to use the baby swings! Then went on an uphill walk - I was puffing some way behind. Fortunately DH was with him. When we got back home I was not allowed in the same room as him, when he emerged he was covered in face paint, then decided I needed a cuddle!
After Dd collected him I was knackered!!
Have a happy Easter folks!
Have the best day possible folks

Taichinan Sun 17-Apr-22 09:56:28

Happy Easter everyone from the Angus coast where the 50 shades of grey are breaking up a little and I saw earlier a rather fetching shade of blue. As I wrote then, the sun shine on my left shoulder, but it's still shy and had gone before I turned round. Mick I had a day like you yesterday - just stayed put - and I have half yesterday's casserole for dinner today. With little Easter eggs for dessert. How lovely to hear your little grandsons are progressing so well Bella. There's something so wonderful about those little trusting eyes gazing up at you as you feed them - it melts the heart doesn't it. I hope little Jax will soon be weaned off his wires too. Marydoll you're such a stoic. Keep on keeping on and enjoying your own bed. So sorry to hear about your aunt Pantglas but glad to hear her final illness was short. She sounds to have been a lovely lady and you will all miss her. Aren't memories wonderful things! Today I am imagining all the happy Easter Egg Hunts which have taken place here over the years - such joyful times. I know that there are many empty chairs at the feast today and I hope everyone enjoys the memories that sit in their place. Lots of love x

Taichinan Sun 17-Apr-22 10:00:50

Harrigran flowers. Enjoy the memories x

Georgesgran Sun 17-Apr-22 10:03:43

Good morning from Durham where another fine day looks on the cards. Feeling a little fragile this morning - headache, nausea, muscles aching and I wonder if I’m going down with a cold. I’ll do an LFT before I leave as I’m spending a few hours with DD2 and DGS2. She will be on her own for most of the day, as her DH is at a football match and then out to eat with his friend and others – sort of civilized stag afternoon.
?pantglas
Hope things at the mattie house remain stable too.
Enjoy the day.

Blossoming Sun 17-Apr-22 10:05:34

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s sunny and warm in my corner of Lancashire this morning, currently 15°C.

Just a flying visit as we are off out with family today so I will read the thread later.
