Someone remarked yesterday that the names currently in vogue are those associated with our grandparents era.

My grandparents were Hilary and Giles and Doris and Bernard. It's a long time since I've heard any of those names being used.

What we're your grandparents called?

That’s good blossoming - I hate to think that someone could be collating all our innocent sharing of info from different threads for fraudulent purposes.

If you don't want to give information away, I know I use some as passwords just don't post the same with your age.

Sarah (known as Sally) and George. I got confused as a child when I first met her, because I have the same name. I was also confused at school when asked if my name was really Sarah as I didn't know the connection.

Fanny and William, who also had 16 children, Daisydaisydaisy

Dolly and John, Frederick and Jessie. But we referred to them by the names of their dogs, Grandpa and Grandma Ranny, and Grandpa and Granny Nettle.

My maternal grandparents were Eric and Dorothy and my paternal grandparents were Dennis and Catherine. Only Catherine (one of my favourite names) stands the test of time in my opinion but l will probably be proved wrong!
