Good morning all from a dull but dry Black country.
Gardening on the agenda today if it brightens up and also I can see a basket of ironing waving at me.
Safe journey for those travelling, best wishes for anyone celebrating and virtual hugs where needed and may you all find some ?.

Good morning. A beautiful sunrise here in the north of Scotland and warm enough for me to have had my morning tea outside.
Family visited this weekend and have just left to head back to work. We had a lovely time and I am happy but tired this morning. I love Easter, church was well attended yesterday. I am so unused to company for the last two years that I find listening and talking quite tiring. First washing is on and will take something out of the freezer for dinner. There are no leftovers as lots of walking made for healthy appetites.
Ashcombe hope you are feeling better. That sounds scary.
I adore France and have my eye on a trip later this year if I am feeling brave enough.
Bellasnana. The staff in baby units always seem hand picked and full of kindness over and above their skills. Special people for special little people.
Marydoll Hope you receive more anti nausea tablets. It is so exhausting for you. I’m sure you’ve tried all the pregnancy (!!!) tricks; dry biscuits, ginger ale, peppermint, turmeric, porridge etc.
GM ?
Have the best day you can everyone.

kitty I hope that’s ‘the 3’ and things settle down now. You must be concerned about your sister in law in the house alone. I hope that situation can be solved today.

Good morning from a less sunny than of late Colchester. The temperature is cooling a little.
A quieter day after a hectic family Sunday. Washing is on and we haven't decided what else to do yet.

Marydoll, I'd ring a pharmacy (some are open today) and ask about getting some tablets to tide you over until the surgery opens. It's surprising what a pharmacist can do nowadays.

Good morning from a sunny Oxfordshire, thanks for the good wishes Pantglas first time I’ve forgotten in 51 years! I must be getting old.
So many good news posts this morning , along with some sad ones.
Hope everyone has as good an Easter Monday as they can with some smiles along the way.
Hugs for those who are having a tough time.

A bit grey in my part of Oxfordshire this morning. Yesterday was spent gardening and walking in the beautiful sunshine. We've had a lovely long weekend, time spent with DC and GC and wonderful weather too.
Tomorrow is back to normal, DD1 has her 3rd chemo treatment and after dropping her off, I will be back to work.
Wishing you all a happy sunny Bank Holiday Monday.

Good morning all from high cloud in S Hants.
Safe journey to you both Ashcombe with a speedy boarding.
Sounds scary dragonfly I hope your GS is sorted out quickly.
Excellent you have company grandMattie a watching vigil can be very lonely.
We had a lovely family afternoon yesterday, bbq went well, little food was left, we did get the blankets out as it got chilly.
No real plans today, MrJ might go to the driving range, I’ve got seeds to sow and a bit of weeding to do.
Enjoy your bonk holiday Monday ??

Good Morning from the Scottish Borders. Such beautiful weather yesterday. I spent the day at Daywick - an Arboretum and Botanical Gardens fairly nearby.
Today I shall be walking near Traquair, an historic house on the Southern Upland way.

Sorry to hear of your painful episode Ash and I hope you make a quick recovery Marydoll

Happy Anniversary Oopsa

Enjoy your day everyone, in whatever way you can.

Morning from DD’s where we had a lovely day yesterday.SiL’s mum was here too and it was great to see her in improved health. She also has Alzheimer’s but is content and coping with huge family support, her children are doing her proud.

What a touching photo Bellasnana, great nursing,

Dragonfly I hope your little grandson gets sorted out at the specialist hospital, what a horrible thing to happen.

?*Marydoll*, I hope nausea subsides today.

I hope your family visit helps grandMattie

Good morning from an overcast W Kent. Happy day yesterday with DD2 and family. Very lively young grandson, never still, we felt exhausted watching him. Quieter day today, my brother is off home so a bit of washing will need to go in.
Best wishes to all of you struggling along.

harrigran Mon 18-Apr-22 09:35:47

Good morning from the NE where it is mild with weak sunshine.
DD and SIL came yesterday afternoon and we had our coffee in the garden.
We cooked dinner together and enjoyed a leisurely dinner with a nice red wine.
DD is trying to arrange her return to her home in Brussels as SIL is on the mend now. Last time she returned there was a problem with mice because the cats had been fostered out.
I am having a quiet day on my own, will finish my book and watch some TV.
Thoughts are with poorly people and those caring for them.

GrannySomerset Mon 18-Apr-22 09:45:35

Good morning from sunny Liverpool where I have had a lovely few days with my lovely DD and DSiL and precious DGD. I have been looked after and my needs considered and it has been lovely. Back home today refreshed invigorated.

Yesterday’s treat was a visit to Mrs Gaskell’s house in Manchester, highly recommended to all fans of that unde-rated author. Like Jane Austen she wrote surrounded by family life - in her case four daughters. Don’t know how she managed it.

Thinking of all our “gang” dealing with illness and anxiety.

Blossoming Mon 18-Apr-22 09:46:15

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s dull and cloudy in my corner of Lancashire, currently 9°C. It rained heavily last night.

My foot behaved itself well enough to let me get a shoe on yesterday and we had a wonderful time with family, I slept like a log last night! Partly from tiredness and partly from the drugs.

It was lovely catching up on the GM thread last night and reading much good news and family joy.

Happy Anniversary to Mr and Mrs Oops.

Great news about your grandsons Bellasnana and love those photos.

Sorry for your loss Pantglas, sounds like your aunt was well loved and will be much missed.

Safe journey Ashcombe.

Grandmadinosaur I do the same with trousers, I used to have to take them up all the time! Midi dresses become maxi dresses, very handy.

Waving to FannyC in the doghouse ??.

Hope the little one is alright Dragonfly.

Hope all our Covid warriors are not feeling too poorly and -ve tests are not too far off.

Thinking of all our grans going through difficult times. Wishing everyone the best day possible flowers

EkwaNimitee Mon 18-Apr-22 09:51:42

Good morning Mick and everyone from brightish Carlisle. It has rained overnight which is good as it has saved me from watering in the garden. Now it's showing signs of clearing up so I hope to be outside later on.
I've done a spot of housework and there'll be no more of that today. I've a spot of admin to do and plenty of reading to hand plus I am bingeing on Viking Valhalla on Netflix....love my Vikings!
Marydoll, Have you tried travel bands for nausea? I first tried them years ago for Channel crossings but have since found them useful for all sorts of nausea. If you're badly affected they just dampen it down a bit I find but even that's a plus.

Wishing you all the best possible day.

Scapa1 Mon 18-Apr-22 09:58:19

Happy Easter. Got back from a lovely week away with DH in Dumfries and Galloway. A lovely part of Scotland. Although the weather wasn’t exactly tropical we had lots of lovely peaceful walks. Castle Douglas has lots of interesting independent shops which is quiet unusual these days.
Thoughts are with those struggling at the moment.

Taichinan Mon 18-Apr-22 10:07:26

Good morning all from the Angus coast where the sun is currently peeping through the thick grey and white cloud. Oh for a sunny morning! Nothing to report about my own doings, but DS1 had Big News for us all yesterday - his own DS1 and partner are going to have a baby!! Yes, before this year is out we will all move up a status - and I will become a Great Granny! I can't say I'm too young for that, but I do feel a bit on the young side to have a son who is a Grandpa, a son who is a Great Uncle and a daughter who is a Great Aunt. Goodness, they're only just out of nappies themselves!! Now off I go to tackle the tai chi paperwork today and read all your posts later. I hope this is a good day for all those caring for poorly loved ones or who are suffering themselves, and enjoy the joy of sunshine - for which I am yearning like you wouldn't believe x

merlotgran Mon 18-Apr-22 10:08:56

Good morning everyone from a sunny/cloudy south coast.

Back home after a lovely weekend away bidding farewell to DD’s home as they move on Thursday and will be just ten minutes away. It’s such a relief to know there will be no more long drives on congested motorways just so I can see the family.

A day of gardening on the cards. So much to do it might end up being the whole week!

Hope everyone enjoys the Bank Holiday and sending best wishes to all with worries and health problems.

LifeOfBriony Mon 18-Apr-22 10:44:13

Good morning everyone - not quite so sunny this morning in Middlesex.

We went to Church yesterday morning - it was a lovely service for Easter Sunday. Then spent most of the rest of the day sitting in the garden reading in the sunshine.

I might have to do some ironing today.

Thinking of everyone with worries and wishing everyone the best day they can have.

Urmstongran Mon 18-Apr-22 10:49:02

Why is Fanny in the doghouse? Surely nothing mean on this thread or have I missed something?

dustyangel Mon 18-Apr-22 10:51:35

Good morning all, absolutely beautiful sunset last night was right in foretelling a bright and sunny Easter Monday. Not that it is a bank holiday here, everything back to normal which is probably a good thing after sharing both a box of chocolate almonds and chocolate cherries with DH. Maybe the natural fibre will out weigh the fattening effect! Whatever, it’s back to normal today with a visit from the physio at 11.30 am.
