Good morning all from a cloudy Sarthe. Cooler temperatures will be welcome as we pack the car to travel up to Ouistreham for our 16.30 crossing.

I shall be glad to doze in our cabin, following an angina episode yesterday afternoon for which I had to resort to my spray. It worked but left me woozy for a few hours and slightly thick headed today (no change there!) There are many here with far more suffering.

Enjoy your Bonk Holiday, as DH likes to call it! ??????

Thank you good peeps for your kind thoughts yesterday - it’s lovely to acknowledge the passing of our beloved ones isn’t it?

Happy anniversary to the Oops - ?and for anyone else with celebrations I might have missed. How are our ? ?coming along Lins, Blossoming Bellasnanna - I wish we had a squidgy little ‘uman in our family to breath in that lovely baby smell....?

Good morning everyone, it’s a bright start here too in rural Wiltshire.
Fingers crossed that those with worries or health problems have a better day today ???
I need to sort out my summer clothes today I think (that’ll jinx the weather, won’t it!), I’m sure there will be plenty for the charity shop.
Busy week coming up, not looking forward to it but it will be fine I’m sure.

Gagagran Mon 18-Apr-22 06:33:29

Good Morning everyone from another clear, bright start to the day here on the south coast. 9.4c.

We had a lovely surprise invitation to go to our DD's for tea and cake yesterday afternoon. She is an excellent baker and had made a fatless sponge with fresh raspberries and blueberries and optional thick cream. It was a delicious treat and much enjoyed in the sunshine in their lovely garden. Perfect weather for me as I don't like it too hot and the insects haven't started to be bothersome just yet. (They like biting me!)

Today, again nothing is planned but things keep turning up as Mr Micawber so optimistically said. I agree!

Hope you feel better today Ash and enjoy the crossing. I do admire your stamina with the commuting you and DH do. You make it work and enjoy the benefit of both homes!

Enjoy your outing to lovely Conwy Pantglas - I love your part of the world and had many holidays in that area in younger days.

Bet you enjoyed the Paris-Rubaix yesterday Mick - what a race! We watched it and were delighted to see Ineos Grenadiers back in top form.

Kindest regards to all with health concerns for themselves or loved ones or worries of any kind. flowers

Good morning from a beautiful sound E Kent.
I “overslept” as I didn’t sleep well. DH sleeps or dozes some 20 hours a day these days. It can be quite lonely. He started to eat a little again, and we have changed from our main meal in the evening to midday it feels very odd indeed.
DD, SiL and the girls are arriving this afternoon for a few days to see granddad. Can’t wait to see them, especially as I have a present for my “twin”.
Ash, would you tell oldd, my bonking days are way past…. But Bon voyage.
Carpe diem. ???????☀️❤️

Ashcombe Mon 18-Apr-22 06:56:38

Oh, grandMattie, within a few lines you turn our shared sadness about your poor DH into making us laugh out loud at your final comment. olddudders reminds me that it originates from the French word “banque” being pronounced bonk!

Thank you, Gagagran, for such a lovely sentiment! ?

ShazzaKanazza Mon 18-Apr-22 06:57:46

Good morning Mick and everyone from a beautiful morning in Hull.

Enjoy your family visit grandMattie they will make you both smile for sure.

We had such a busy afternoon yesterday. Lovely to see the family. DSs new lady friend who we met for the first time was very nice and she said we made her very welcome. The GC were delightful as ever and baby B gave me a little smile at almost 6weeks old.
Quieter day today today we are taking our old garden table and chairs to Mums caravan near Skipsea and then to Bridlington for fish and chips and a walk. DS will meet us there with GS.

Have a good day everyone if you can. Enjoy bank holiday Monday. Safe travels, family visits and hope all those who are ill with covid soon feel better. ?

ShazzaKanazza Mon 18-Apr-22 07:00:04

Ash sorry your day was spoilt by your angina attack yesterday. Take care today hope your a lot better by the time you travel back. ?

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Son and daughter are going back to London today. I am hoping to transform the leftover leg of lamb into a shepherd’s pie for lunch and then OH can drive them to Oxford station. His car is bigger and I can’t get all their clobber in my car! After they’ve gone I have to empty a bookcase in readiness for a new one being delivered tomorrow. I have a busy week so hope my post-covid fatigue attacks can improve!

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny day here at DD's in East Northants. Nice to have a different garden to look out at. Someone has just let the dogs out and they will soon be going for their morning walk.

Had a lovely day with all the family yesterday - a pleasant afternoon in the garden consuming fizz, then Aperol Spritz, followed by wine. We had a delicious barbecue prepared and cooked by DD and her DH. Then after the sun went down an evening of family board games indoors.

DS and family will be heading off home later this morning, and then DD is taking me to a vintage and antiques fair before I finally go home.

Wishing all a lovely Easter Monday.

cornergran Mon 18-Apr-22 07:18:13

Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy corner of Somerset

The sun will be back later it seems. A gently faffing day for us today after some busyness yesterday, the highlight being a flying visit from our teenage granddaughters bringing much laughter with them.

Safe trip ash, your share of family smiles today grandmattie.

Take care everyone. Hope Monday is kind to us all.

Bellasnana Mon 18-Apr-22 07:18:42

Good morning from Malta where it has rained during the night and is looking grey and cloudy.

Yesterday was brightened by a long FaceTime chat with DD2 and DGD in Florida. I miss them so much. Never been apart for this long. It’s two and a half years since we were together.

The twins continue to make progress. The nurses had made Easter cards using the babies’ footprints. Such a lovely idea.

Sorry you were unwell yesterday Ash and hope you will feel well enough for your journey today.

Wishing you all the best day possible.☀️

dragonfly46 Mon 18-Apr-22 07:21:09

Good morning from sunny Brighton.

Up early this morning as 4 year old DGS had an accident in the garden and gouged a big hole in his forehead. The hospital has sent him to a specialist hospital early this morning 45 minutes away. We are looking after our lovely 6 year old DGD.

Hoping every one has a good day.

Gwenisgreat1 Mon 18-Apr-22 07:24:49

Good morning all from sunny Harrogate.
It was a good service yesterday in church, I then excelled myself and walked home (about 1 mile, but mostly uphill). DD2 popped in with Easter eggs and caught me snoozing. DH was in the garden testing his new lawnmower.
Today it’s chatting day to school friend and sisters and DH has organised a zoom call I know not to whom!
Hope to be in Llandudno next week Pantglas we must meet up! Conwy is on our list as well. Will PM you.
Safe journey Ashcombe hope your angina has settled
Have the best day possible folks

Marydoll Mon 18-Apr-22 07:29:20

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it's currently 8°C

Nothing to report, yesterday was spent, lying down. What a waste of a day, as we had lovely weather. Its so blooming frustrating. I feel nauseous all the time and my emergency stash of anti nausea pills is dwindling fast. I am having to ration them. Of course it's a bank holiday and the surgery is closed! ☹

Today is freedom day for Mr MD, alleluia! Hopefully his mood will improve. He plans to start clearing out the garage, so I will have a quasi empty! ?

Enjoy your day, folk, safe journey to all, who are travelling and best wishes to all, feeling low for whatever reason.
Pity about your angina attack, Ash, especially on your last day and the fact you have to lie down, after using your spray. It may be worth mentioning it to your cardiologist, when you see him. Thank goodness, all I get is a blinding headache.

Grandmabatty Mon 18-Apr-22 07:30:32

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and damp. Bellasnana those are lovely photos. How precious! Dragonfly what a worry. Poor wee boy. I hope he's ok. Ashcombe safe journey back. I'm sorry to hear that you were unwell.
Yesterday I had a lovely time with dd, sil and the boys. Today I'm doing nothing. I will potter about my wee house and I might do a bit of painting. Pictures that is, not walls! Then again, I might read and watch tv. I'm going to make a huge pot of bolognaise in the slow cooker so I'll have some for dinner. Have a good day all.

ginny Mon 18-Apr-22 07:32:41

Good morning from our caravan in Derbyshire . Its looking fairly bright so far.
Lovely to see the new twins are doing well.
I think we are off to a NT property today and later the rest of the family will be making their way home whilst we stay on for a few days.
Thoughts with all who are troubled in any way .

brook2704 Mon 18-Apr-22 07:34:40

Good morning everyone from a sunny Inverness but it’s a bit cooler and with a few showers forecast later
Safe journey Ash I hope you can settle down and relax in your cabin and you feel fine again soon
Enjoy your time in Conwy Pantglas I remember lots of family holidays in North Wales many many moons ago. I’d love to return sometime to reminisce.
Another day of clearing the garage and pottering in the garden is planned, yesterday we got quite a lot done so I’m carrying on whilst the going is good and the good weather helps of course. I’m hoping to sell my old bike that I don’t use any more and I’m thinking of getting an electric one as the hills around here are too much for me now ? - will see!
Oh no Dragonfy poor lamb, hope the damage isn’t too severe and hoping all goes well
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

kittylester Mon 18-Apr-22 07:34:53

Morning all from a brightish North Leicestershire.

The forecast is reasonable which is good as we are all going to DD3 - all except DS2 who has to work.

I have been missing for a few days as 'things' have been happening here. DD1 had an emergency visit to hospital as the laxatives weren't working!!

We also heard that DH's brother is in hospital having fallen downstairs leaving his wife, who has dementia, at home alone.

And, DH has hurt his hip!

Sending love and best wishes to everyone who has real problems.

Urmstongran Mon 18-Apr-22 07:37:16

No Matt. It’s Monday.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. We must have ad rain in the night, the decking boards on our little verandah are still damp! We have no sun forecast but we have no plans so it doesn’t matter.

Sorry to hear you had an angina attack Ashcombe it all sounds a bit scary and discombobulating. Pleasant journey home with hopefully, no queues. Oh grandMattie I didn’t realise your husband so sleeping so much every day. The house must be very quiet no wonder you feel lonely. Hopefully your family will cheer you today. Mind those eggshells. dragonfly your poor little boy. What an awful accident to have on Easter Sunday. Good job you’re visiting and can help out. I hope the hospital make him better. x

baubles Mon 18-Apr-22 07:38:57

Good morning all from cloudy and damp South Lanarkshire.

Enjoy your afternoon Mick.

Ballasnana your photo of that tiny hand brought a tear to my eyes.

Your poor GS Dragonfly, I hope he’s ok.

Safe trip Ash.

We had a smashing time at DD’s yesterday. Daft dug thought it was Christmas as the younger children rolled their hard boiled eggs down a little slope in the garden and we had to be quick as she tried to catch them. She does love eggs.

We both had a very disturbed night due to DH’s various pains keeping him awake so I’m starting another morning bleary eyed.

I’m not supposed to say such things but I hope work will be quiet. Easter weekend clear outs resulted in 35 bags of donations being handed in on Saturday. Sadly it saves some people doing a run to the tip.

Enjoy your Easter Monday everyone.

ShazzaKanazza Mon 18-Apr-22 07:53:23

Bellasina the picture of the baby hand is just so sweet.
We had a FaceTime with our DS in China yesterday he looks wonderful it’s 3 years since we saw him and have no chance of visits till at least the end of the year. It makes me sad.
Dragonfly what a worry with your little one. ?
Kittylester it’s good to see you back but sorry to hear you have a lot of family troubles at the moment ?

GrannyGravy13 Mon 18-Apr-22 07:57:49

Morning Mick and all

Dragonfly I do hope your DGS is ok, it’s worrying when the little o es hurt themselves.

Ashcombe safe journey, hope you begin to feel better

Oh dear kittylester as they say it never rains it pours.

(((Hugs))) grandMattie I know how hard it is, it will be good to have your DD and family with you for a few days.

The 7 yr old slept over last nigh, DD and The Imp went home, we had a lovely day, mostly spent kn the garden, bouncy castle had its first inflation of the year and the top came off of the tub so there was lots and lots of splashes and much laughter.

A lazy day planned today, and I shall drop hints for a takeaway.

Keep safe and well folks ??‍♀️

GrannyGravy13 Mon 18-Apr-22 07:59:02

Sorry Bellasnana those beautiful photos, such a tiny hand ??
