Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 7° with blue skies. A bit windy though and the wind is cool. Mick I really fancy Jersey Royals too! Aggie and JaxJacky I have three of my dad's bunnets/caps. I've had them since he died ten years ago!
Yesterday dd and the boys came round. I had some warning so I made leek and potato soup for lunch. Dgs1 has two bowls as he calls it his soup. It is always lovely to see them.
Today, back to no plans. Have a good day all.

Another Good Morning from South Hants where the sun is battling the high cloud.

Busy day ahead as I will be helping DD with unpacking goodness knows how many boxes after their ‘March In’ yesterday. Grans with military connections will know what I mean. ?
She can do with the help because DSiL has had to return to North London for the ‘March Out’ of their former home. I remember it well from my childhood when my mother would be in a high state of anxiety, anticipating the fines for every mark on the walls. 2/6d per hole where a picture had been hung! ?

So glad your DH enjoyed his day out yesterday GrandMattie It must have lifted your spirits.

Hope everyone has a good day. Stay safe and well.

Good morning everyone!
Gosh, I fancy Jersey Royals now, will see if I can add them to my online shop.
DDog’s spaying went well, she’s feeling very sorry for herself and looks svelte in her bodysuit ?
A quiet few days here, art group this afternoon and taking DDog back to the vets tomorrow for a check up.
Other than that I need a few peaceful days?
Wishing you all a good day x

Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, it's 7°C here.

Pittcity, how lovely, something to look forward too. I am afraid NONE of my formal dresses will ever fit again! sadDid I used to be that slim?

Still positive and feeling rough after ten days, so my incarceration continues. I am not a happy bunny!!!
I need to put the breadmaker one, we have no bread and I may potter about in the garden. I am way behind with my seed propagation.
My only definite task today is report the side effects of the anti virals to the the Yellow Card site. I'm still being sick, despite the medication. They really should have eased by now. However, if they are doing their job, I cannot moan about it! grin.

Have the best day, you can folks, take every opportunity that comes your way, don't procrastinate! Carpe horem.

Good morning .
Home from our week away in Derbyshire. We had a lovely time enhanced by the weather. Very different from the dull mist we have this morning.

DH is off to golf and I think I’m going to take myself to a shop I have discovered that sells all thing to do with fairy gardens. I’ve been wanting to make one for a while. Also a visit to a craft store.
Wishing all the best day possible.

Pittcity Fri 22-Apr-22 08:35:06

Marydoll stretchy fabric and good undercrackers help. I'm looking forward to dressing up and the meal. The chat afterwards is usually very boring as it's an Air Cadet do and so DH will be talking shop and there are only a couple of people I know. I am not fit enough to join in all the dancing anymore.

Ashcombe Fri 22-Apr-22 08:35:36

Good morning rather belatedly for me from a fine start in Torbay. We were drinking TIB at 4.30 a.m. then went back to sleep.

It must have lifted spirits for you all to see DH enjoying the sea air, grandMattie, and I hope he slept well afterwards. Safe travels to your DD and family.

I was welcomed back to my Just Jhoom class yesterday, which is similar to the Monday “Move It Or Lose It” class and run by the same inspirational teacher, but with the emphasis on Indian style movement and mindfulness. It is held in the hall by my church so an easy walk to and fro!

Happy weekend, everyone! ??????

Marydoll Fri 22-Apr-22 08:39:12

Pittcity, I miss those days. We used to go to a lot of fundraising ones. Sadly two of our friends have died and it was never the same again.
Not surprisingly, I used to always meet someoneone I know. (Including one of the hospice doctors, with whom I had a secret crush on, when I was in sixth year in school! ?)

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Serendipity22 Fri 22-Apr-22 08:44:15

Good morning everyone from an almost sunny Yorkshire, these last few days have been GLORIOUS....the coat has been flung the the back of the wardrobe and my feelgood factor is the highest its been in months.

Today I am going good shopping for nuts, fish and apples ... ( salad ingredients)

Once the items from the supermarket have been put in their rightful place, I am going to start another a drawstring bag. I got some good ideas from a shop I went to yesterday, soooo I will incorporate those on my bags.

Have a good day everyone, I hope the ? shines on you today.

smile

Good Morning all, from Co Armagh ! (As asked for yesterday )
It’s a bit duller than yesterday , but the wind has stopped , I had left the patio doors open yesterday with the heavy curtains over to keep the birds out . A huge gust of wind blew the curtains in and hit the tv, it landed , screen down on the floor , I was expecting a cracked screen at least , but not a blemish to be seen, and was thanking my lucky stars it wasn’t a huge tv but managed to heave it back into position . I had to get the ‘ destructions ‘ out to shove a few cables back in their right order
it gave me a fright , but with the aid of some chocolate , I recovered my equilibrium
I think it’s working better than ever ! But I don’t recommend this to anyone

Have a lovely day all
I’m away to my painting class
Xxxx

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s beautifully bright and sunny if rather cool.

Yesterday’s walk along the seafront with the DGCS was fresh to say the least, that east coast haar didn’t burn off till very late on.

I’m having the luxury of a long lie this morning while DH makes a pot of coffee for me with the last of the beans which we brought back from Rome.

Today I’ll have to try to book overnight boarding for daft dug as we’re going to a wedding in early June which DD, who normally dog sits, is also attending. I’m concerned that I may have left it too late but also concerned that she will hate it.

So pleased you all had a good day yesterday gMattie.

Marydoll sorry you’re still feeling rubbish.

I’m another holding on to one of my Dad’s caps, he always wore it going to football matches, I can see him now in my mind’s eye looking very smart.

Enjoy the day everyone, as much as you are able to. ??

aggie Fri 22-Apr-22 08:58:20

There were several caps hanging up , best , ok , and that’ll do ! The boys took there pick , but the best one was hiding , so I kept it , it’s an odd feeling knowing that they are all being worn , one I grudge ! As he is /was an in law!

Ashcombe Fri 22-Apr-22 09:00:06

Once we knew the happy outcome, aggie, your post had us giggling, especially regarding the chocolate and the TV working better now! ?

Mapleleaf Fri 22-Apr-22 09:07:56

Good morning.

It’s a cloudier and breezier day today - good for drying any washing, though.

Some more painting on the agenda for me today, then might tackle the ironing if I can be bothered ?.

Those Jersey Royals sound good, Mick and hope you enjoy them.

Hope everyone has a good day. Take care.

harrigran Fri 22-Apr-22 09:35:15

Good morning from the NE where it is not sunny but I think k it may get there eventually.
DIL arrived at lunchtime yesterday after going to a morning screening of Fantastic beasts with GD2. Three of us went grocery shopping and GD found some craft sets, candle and soap making, she does not return to school until next week and she likes to be busy.
Message from my sister yesterday to say that she has now tested positive for covid and she is due to return home from her holiday.
I must be the only person who does not care for Jersey Royals, they do not taste anything like they did in the 50s and 60s.
Have a good day all.

Gwenisgreat1 Fri 22-Apr-22 09:37:30

Good morning all from sunny but chilly Harrogate
I am now waiting in the hospital for a physiotherapy appointment.
Hmm Jersey Royals remind me of my childhood local families would go tattie howking for Ayrshires. Never hear of Ayrshires any more? Probably because we don’t live there any more
Today I’m preparing and packing for our trip to Llandudno tomorrow. So looking forward to it
Have the best day possible folks

Marydoll Fri 22-Apr-22 09:47:09

Gwen, you can still get Ayrshires, but last year there seemed to be a dearth of them here.

Blossoming Fri 22-Apr-22 09:57:45

Good morning Mick and everyone. Cloudy in my corner of Lancashire, currently 11°C.

No real plans for today, a little housework and some sewing. Hoping for a walk this afternoon now the gout seems to have gone. I’m tempted now to go in search of Jersey Royals for the weekend.

Pleased you had a good day with the family GrandMattie.

Hope your friend is making a good recovery Gingster. Grandmadinosaur enjoy your day at the seaside.

Have a lovely glam evening Pittcity.

Waving to FannyC ?? and a big {{{hug}}} to Marydoll.

Thinking of all our grans going through difficult times.

Wishing everyone the best day possible ???

luluaugust Fri 22-Apr-22 10:00:05

Good morning all from a grey W Kent. DD2's birthday so looking forward to seeing her and some of the family later today. Just off to buy her a birthday cake.
Good wishes to all

Scapa1 Fri 22-Apr-22 10:02:55

Good morning from another lovely sunny but not too warm day in Dunblane. What a lovely week it has been here. Had a visit to the garden Centre yesterday for a few new plants to put in tubs. Later GD2 came in after school. We live very near the school so at 8 feels very grown up just walking round herself.
Will be DH’s birthday on Sunday so will try to get something sorted out for that.

Enjoy the day as much as possible everyone.

Urmstongran Fri 22-Apr-22 10:10:08

Thanks aggie ??

Taichinan Fri 22-Apr-22 10:28:45

Good morning all from a very sunny, but very cold, Angus coast. Just glorious. Some lovely cheering posts today. So glad your DH managed a walk on the seafront grandmattie - so cheering for both of you. And I hope you can hang those sheets out to dry. If there's one thing better than a freshly made bed, it's one made up with sheets smelling of fresh air. And Jersey Royals, Mick! Merlotgran your talk of March Outs took me down memory lane as for the first 16 years of my married life I was an RAF wife. Happy Days - if you discount the frantic cleaning that preceded moving! One thing was certain though, when you Marched In to your new Quarter you knew it was going to be pristine! I had absolutely no side effects from my Spring Booster jab - or so I thought. After taking my two tai chi classes yesterday morning I was totally exhausted and slept in my chair for three hours, all afternoon in fact, and then went to bed and slept all night! Well the nurse said I might feel a little tired ...... Anyway, fine now. Must away now and get on, to do I know not what. But be sure, Marydoll, I shall carpe every horem, even if it's just to sit in a lovely warm shaft of sunlight doing nothing wink Love to everyone, especially those having such a hard time if it just now x

dustyangel Fri 22-Apr-22 10:43:12

Good morning all from a wet and dreary Algarve. I haven’t read all the posts yet but like others am pleased to see grandMattie’s husband was well enough to enjoy a stroll in the sunshine.

Taichinan I found your post especially interesting as we were talking about March Outs yesterday. I didn’t experience too many as DH was invalided out of the RN but I seem to remember that the RAF families were issued with sheets that had a line printed down the middle. Am I right? If so it’s something I could really do with now, it would make putting fresh sheets on so much easier.
