Not much happening here in cloudy Leicestershire but just wanted to pop in and say that I am so pleased your DD had such good news Gingster!

Taichinan Sat 23-Apr-22 11:03:08

Good morning all, and it's sunny and blowy on the Angus coast again. It's so lovely when it's like this, and the garden is beginning to really come alive now. My lovely gardener is here this morning, along with his 14yo grandson who cuts the grass. It's wonderful to watch the two of them working together - a lovely relationship. Tomorrow I am planning to meet my daughter in Perth for lunch - and a foray into the M&S food hall for me! DD is on a long training walk today in preparation for the Aberdeen Kilt Walk (marathon length) which she is undertaking this summer in aid of WAY (Widowed And Young). I think she'll be grateful for a leisurely day tomorrow with her Mum! Lovely bluebells Gingster - so glad the news is good for your DD. And I have serious foot envy Urms and Jax - least said of mine the better! Have a lovely weekend everyone and hugs for those going through hard times x

hollysteers your painting is beautiful. You should get it printed and turned into notelets - I'm sure they would sell well.

Grandmabatty Sat 23-Apr-22 11:15:51

Hollysteers your painting is lovely. I really like your use of shadow too.

snowberryZ Sat 23-Apr-22 11:19:57

Still cloudy here.
Where's summer gone?

Urmstongran Sat 23-Apr-22 11:24:44

Goodness hollysteers that’s an amazing picture! You’re very talented and you can sing too. I have no skills whatsoever but much admire them in others!

BlueBalou Sat 23-Apr-22 11:27:22

Gosh, that’s lovely hollysteers, I wish my attempts were half as good as yours!
It’s overcast and blowy here in Wiltshire, quite a chilly breeze. At least the washing will dry.
DDog is much brighter today after her op on Thursday, I can see us struggling to keep her quiet in a few days!
I have done a heap of ironing and put it all away, set the slow cooker up with a beef casserole for later and tidied up a bit.
I feel a bit lethargic after a messy week, perhaps I will sit and read later after DDog has been back to the vets for a checkup.
Have a lovely weekend everyone x

Urmstongran Sat 23-Apr-22 11:31:29

I bought these lovely sandals from Next.
I’m going to try and sneak them into Himself’s grip bag now while he’s out!

dustyangel Sat 23-Apr-22 11:46:24

Good morning all from a chilly, wet Algarve. Apparently this year has been the driest since 1931!

I hope it’s warmer round the corner in the Med Urms, safe journey.

I think nausea is the worst side effect of all Marydoll, although depending on how much worse my hair shedding (side effect of hip pain medication) gets I might revise that opinion.

Marydoll Sat 23-Apr-22 11:48:44

Megs, I am so pleased to hear about your dental treatment. It gives me hope. I still haven't plucked up courage to cement my crown back in, to get me by, until I see the dentist!

Great taht you have the wedding to look forward too.

Nannagarra Sat 23-Apr-22 11:49:26

Good morning from intermittently sunny Sefton by the sea.
Repotting herbs, shopping for veg and making chicken cacciatore with orzo are on my agenda today. Twice this week I’ve been “corrected” that orzo is rice.
I’m hoping that at some point another order for clothes will be delivered. Much as I long to be the model in the image who is 5’ 10” and wearing a size 8, reality and that dratted mirror tell me I’m not. Where is the height I should have gained and where is the law against mirrors? ?
Safe journey Urms. ✈️
Have the best day you can everyone.
???

Megs36 Sat 23-Apr-22 11:54:55

Thanks Marydoll, you have courage in abundance with your health so a little thing like a crown is nothing! ?

FannyCornforth Sat 23-Apr-22 12:06:20

A very late Good Morning from me in a rather gusty and grey Derby.
It will be afternoon by the time I press ‘post’.

Happy St George’s Day?
(I was going to wish William Shakespeare a Happy Birthday, but it seems that his birthday is now thought to be the 26th)

The thought of a photo of my feet fills me with horror!
Yours look absolutely fabulous Urms and Jacky
I must show mine some love when I have had my hip done.
The plan is that I get my date on Monday?

I think that I shall binge on The Thief, His Wife and The Canoe after I’ve listened to Any Questions.
Eddie Marsen is probably my favourite actor at the moment (sorry Roger Allam; I know that you’ll be gutted)

Thank you so much to those who have been thinking of me and keeping in touch ?
My GN friends mean so much to me.
Wishing everyone a peaceful day x

FannyCornforth Sat 23-Apr-22 12:07:35

Nannagarra orzo is pasta, isn’t it?

FannyCornforth Sat 23-Apr-22 12:09:42

Marydoll I’ve heard that the ‘skin’ of a babybel cheese makes a good temporary filling!
I don’t know if it would work as a crown…

Marydoll Sat 23-Apr-22 12:10:58

I have the cement, I am just a feartie, Fanny. Good to see you posting again.

FannyCornforth Sat 23-Apr-22 12:11:25

A cheese crown. A crown made from cheese… Hmm.
Now my Platinum Jubilee plans are all coming together ? ?

FannyCornforth Sat 23-Apr-22 12:12:37

Marydoll

I have the cement, I am just a feartie, Fanny. Good to see you posting again.

Thank you ?
Mouths are funny things. I know where you are coming from.

Just in time to say good morning from a cloudier and breezier East Lothian than yesterday. We had a good time with
DGSs at a Science Festival event in Edinburgh yesterday. They and DSiL are away sailing on the Firth of Forth all weekend. Hope it’s not too windy.
DD is going to a work colleague’s leaving do in Edinburgh this pm so we will go in with her to help with her new-ish mobility scooter - she has a so far undiagnosed muscle weakness and pain which has resulted in her being unable to walk any distance. The scooter gives her a bit more freedom but it’s heavy to lift in and out of the car.

Lovely bluebells, Gingster - the wood we went to on Wednesday had only a few open as yet. Glad to hear good news of your DD.
Gagagran you garden will be a blaze of colour all summer.
Urmstongran your toenails and new sandals will look lovely together - my toenails are a mess so envy of yours and Jax. Safe journey Urmston.
Beautiful watercolour Holly. More envy!
Hope the nausea clears soon Marydoll.
Grandmattie ?
And ? for Harrigran as you relive your bad experiences - I remember your posts from last year.

Happy St George’s Day to English grans and those living in England (& Malta?).

It’s well past midday now - time to grab a piece of bread and cheese before driving to Edinburgh. Sun has come out ?

luluaugust Sat 23-Apr-22 12:50:23

Bit late today, had to rush out to get a few bits for friend's birthday.
Time for lunch, best wishes to all

Susan56 Sat 23-Apr-22 12:53:38
