No Matt - it’s Monday.

Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s sunny but the palm trees are dancing. Last night I wore my denim jacket when we went out ... it wasn’t tropical. I’m on my second cuppa. Himself is dressed already and going over the road to the barbers. We have no plans but must do a supermarket shop. I couldn’t make any kind of meal out of what’s in the cupboards and the fridge is empty apart from milk and a bottle of cava! The Maxi Dia on the corner is closed till Friday for ‘refurbishment’ so we will go 5 minutes up the road near the filling station where a huge new Mercadona has recently opened.

Ooh, just had a wonderful FaceTime from a very excited Boy Wonder who is off on a coach in an hour for a 3 day school trip to Grasmere. He even showed me his small suitcase, aw! First time away from his family.

The big swimming pool is still mucky from the winter and has a sand dump in it - all the steps are brown. Until Cesar the gardener cleans it we have Mr & Mrs Duck using it everyday. They look so cute with their little orange feet.

Enjoy Monday all who can. Hope your hospital appointment goes well Ashcombe, be a brave girl at the dentist GG13 and glad to hear you enjoyed the film BlueSapphire!

Sorry duckies, Cesar has just arrived. See you in the autumn...

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. A quiet day today I hope while I endeavour to shake off the cold I’ve had since last week. We have a Waitrose delivery today and I must type up the notes from last week’s WI meeting. It was lovely seeing son, partner and our granddaughter over the weekend but it is good to have the house back to ourselves. I have a busy week coming up so must be fit for it - not least it’s my birthday tomorrow and I’ve booked my favourite restaurant. We had to cancel our Mothering Sunday booking as we had covid. ???to many of you.

Good morning Mick and everyone from a dull sky but dry Hull. We really need that rain. We are saving the water in the butts to fill up the tadpole water features. Once the water goes we’ll buy cheap spring water if they don’t fill up. So we are putting the hose on the garden.
Good to hear all your news. Hope all your appointments go well and meetings with friends and family bring chatter and laughs.

Today it’s a zoom yoga and picking up GS from school. Back to the routine. Really need to do some cleaning as well.
Heard from DS1 in China he’s been suffering from stomach issues to the point he thought he may be coeliac like me or IBS. Being in China everything is pay for so within 3 days he’s all tested had the camera up and down and they’ve found a flat polyp which is causing the problem. So Thursday he has to have a small op to take it out. Hate my boy is going through that all those miles away. Being coeliac in China is so hard as I’ve found out the times we have been so very happy it’s not that. Anyway enough of me going on.

Enjoy your day everyone and hope our covid warriors gain strength by the day. Hope Monday brings a moment of joy??

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Our garden is crying out for overnight rain.
I have the weekend bedding in the machine and it will dry quickly on the line. There is also ironing to tackle. A walk in the sun through the park into town to get some bits and bobs is also on today's cards.

Happy Anzac Day to our Antipodean friends.
Love to all ?x

Good morning all from a lovely sunny Black country.
Had a little lie in this morning after yesterday's early start.
No fish were caught by DH but he enjoyed his day.
Trip to the bank today to sort out one or two things.
Glad your DH had a better day grandMattie
Hope all those with appointments dental and hospital go well.
Enjoy your Monday all and may you all find some ?.

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle.
I did a little pottering in the garden yesterday and put some bulbs into my gravel garden, also a bit of dead-heading. My lovely spring bulbs are getting past their best now.
I'll be off to do a few errands shortly, they include looking in at the garden centre but I won't be hauling any heavy sacks back!
Good to be reminded of that PCR scam Marydoll, I fell for that Royal Mail one a little while ago and had to get my card changed. It was very realistic. Shakes my faith in myself when I get taken in like that.
I hope all you poorly folk and any poorly loved ones are improving. And a successful consultation Ashcombe

Good morning from a dull South Yorkshire. Lovely day yesterday with the family round for tea and lots of laughing. Then unfortunately my mum was not very well last night but after a sleepless night worrying about her she is cured this morning and off on her holidays! Still living her best life! I do admire her.
Today is our walking group then routine hospital appointment this afternoon. If the walk is a long one I shall be at the hospital all sweaty and smelly but hopefully will have time to come home and get cleaned up first.
Wishing you all a good day xx

Anzac Day today and the first ‘proper’ day since Covid. Lest We Forget.

Good morning everyone from a sunny south coast.

Yesterday I cooked Sunday Lunch for eight at DD’s new house so they could finish getting straight after moving in and prepare to return to work today. My eldest grandson remarked, ‘Granny, Are you wearing fake tan or have you been spending a long time in the garden?’ ?

In her day, my Gran would have given him a clip round the ear for making a personal remark….How times have changed! I just burst out laughing. He’s 25 but still acts like a cheeky ten year old. ?

On my return home I had a phone call telling me one of my oldest friends had died. Another one of the old gang gone. Oh, Sod getting old!!

Hope everyone has a good start to the week. Stay safe and well.

Good morning from an overcast NE where it is 7 degrees with a forecast of rain later.
DDand SIL came yesterday afternoon, she brought coffee cake to have with our coffee.
We prepared dinner together, pork steaks in wholegrain mustard sauce for us and a little veggie joint for her.
DD is returning to Brussels tomorrow but her DH will remain in the UK for a while as he is not up to lugging suitcases around.
I was really tired yesterday so I am going to have a quiet day today and read my book.
Thinking of those under the weather and carers of poorly people.

Good morning Mick and all from a now cloudy northwest coast after sun.
Off for my jab soon and not sure whether to go ahead and book my day trip for Wednesday as have felt off after my previous jabs.
TV engineer coming this afternoon as the connections are not good, not recording, picture disappearing etc. Very temperamental. I’m due for a new telly and fancy a massive (vulgar as my sister in law says) screen?.
More artwork too as some wants a design for his band,
Hope you all have a good day and thoughts to anyone with worries.

hollysteers Mon 25-Apr-22 09:25:04

Son wants a design.

aggie Mon 25-Apr-22 09:30:23

Morning all from an overcast Co Armagh , grocery shopping shortly then I’ll collapse in a heap !
Nice to see some of us are improving xxx

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s cloudy and looking like rain in my corner of Lancashire, currently 8° C.

I’m glad you’re feeling better Mick. Pleased that it was a better day for you and your DH Grandmattie.

Hope the checkup goes well Ashcombe.

A quiet day for me today, I didn’t sleep well. The nausea returned with a vengeance during the night, though it seems to have settled again for now.

Thinking of all our grans going through difficult times.

Wishing everyone the best day possible ???

Good morning from a grey Dunblane. I also had a message like that Marydoll I wonder how many fall for it? Off to Dobbies for a coffee and catch up with a friend this morning looking forward to a good chinwag. Had a lovely weekend all revolving around DH birthday. Involved family meeting up and fun with the grandchildren. Wishing all those with problems a bit of sunshine in their lives.

Good morning all from sunny Llandudno.
Yes you hired correct Grandmadinasaur it is I who is meeting up with Pantglas very soon. Am looking forward to it!
I love it here in Llandudno had a wander yesterday the goats are making themselves quite at home in the town. I thought they were models until one looked at me as it was chewing the cud.
Glad you had a better day Grandmattie You sound in better spirits Marydoll. The isolation is the worst part (or it was for me)
Have the best day possible folks

A rather delayed good morning to you all. Just got back from my coffee morning group, so I’m running late posting.

It feels cooler today, though less windy and is just beginning to brighten after a dull start.

We had a good morning in the garden yesterday, cutting the grass and trimming back bushes that have had something of a growth spurt and were in danger of getting out of hand if left for much longer.

I’ve got petunia plants in the greenhouse which are mostly coming along nicely, though rather disappointingly, some I’d ordered online haven’t done as well as they should have and half have shrivelled up and died, so I bought extra from the local garden centre yesterday afternoon. With hindsight, I should have waited and got them all from the garden centre - it can be a bit pot luck with online ordering, I’ve found. I think I was spoiled, because last year, the ones ordered online did really well.

Today, I’ve got a bit of ironing to do and then I think I’ll settle down with my book. Before that, though, I’ll go back and read everyone’s posts.

Hope you all have a good day.

The Rector and I have interred DH’s ashes in a sunny spot in the churchyard so now waiting for the stone mason to install his contribution and I can feel I have done all I can.

Visit from the chiropodist and the gardener is here doing a wonderful job, three phone calls and three callers in - no wonder I feel I have had a busy morning! I am so lucky to have friends and neighbours who care and am more than grateful.
