Good morning all from a sunny Cellardyke, where it is currently 7°C.
I did ask Alexa what the weather was like, but she seemed reluctant to co-operate. Perhaps it is because we left her at home! ?
Novella alert.
We had a lovely morning yesterday in Pittenweem. We started the day having breakfast outside, at the harbour in Anstruther, a leisurely walk along the coastal path to Pittenweem, followed by a lunch of crab tagliatelle back in Anstruther.
The walk is supposed to take a leisurely forty minutes, it took me nearly two hours, with frequent stops, ( I was determined to do it) resting on well placed benches on the cliff top. It was idyllic.
DH did a lot of reminiscing about the many games of golf he played on the golf course, which sits beside the path.
Poor DD with her new camera, was instructed to do a photo shoot of various holes, where DH and my brother had either triumphs or many disasters! ⛳
This was over forty years ago, often playing in the sea haar , with orange golf balls. They were determined to get their money's worth back in those days, because they had bought a weekly ticket and we were on a very tight budget!
There was no way I could have walked back, so we decided to get the bus. I could have wept, when I saw we had missed it by two minutes, as the next one was eighty minutes later! ?
Then round the corner came a huge coach, it was the express to St Andrew's. Hugh sigh of relief!
The conversation went like this:
Anstruther?
Bus for St Andrew's
Yes, but are you going to Anstruther?
This is Pittenweem
Are you going through Anstruther?
I'm stopping at Pittenweem first.
We want to go to Anstruther!.
It's Pittenweem first.
Aaaargh! ?
The steps were so high and my legs had seized up, that I couldn't get up the steep stairs. DH had to push me up from behind, while DD and SIL fell about laughing. ☺
#Very patient and kind bus driver!
We are off up the coast this morning for a wander, but my legs have totally seized up and for some reason, I am wheezing for Scotland. DD is driving, ?, she has been driving for twenty years, but in my mind, she is still a learner! I shall sit in the back, with my lips firmly sealed.
Anno, you asked if we had been to the August art festival, it's too busy and expensive for us in August. We like when its quiet here. I was tempted by a few paintings, but we have run out of wall space and DH said a very firm, NO!!
I wish you all a very pleasant and if possible pain and worry free day.
Waving to our regulars, whom we haven't seen for a bit.
I tried to post some photos, but they need resized, I will try later.
