Good Morning Everyone,
Its bright and a dry start here in brackley , that chilly wind seems to have dropped.
Today , I plan to get the bus to Bicester for my usual coffee etc.
And then return to watch the cycling on TV.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from an overcast E Kent. I hope that icy wind drops and we have a warmer day. The heating came on!
Not much improvement yesterday. The hospice called and the consultant is due to visit tomorrow.
I never had my birthday massage yesterday ?; the masseuse’s young son had chickenpox and she could work. It’s been rescheduled for next week.
An empty today.
Hope that everyone has had a good night and has a gentle day. Carpe diem/horam. ?????☀️☀️

Ashcombe Thu 28-Apr-22 06:46:04

Good morning from an overcast Torbay after a pretty sky earlier. ?

Yes, an easing of the NE wind would be welcome here, too, grandMattie. I hope today is a better one for you both and how disappointing about your massage which would be such a treat for you at the moment.

Yesterday we had Desert Island Discs again at Wednesday Club at the theatre. We each supply a song or piece of music and explain why it has significance for us. Yesterday produced some interesting and surprising revelations. I had forgotten to bring anything but used a CD from my car. The song was “Why Me, Lord?” by Kris Kristofferson. I first heard it just after I’d left my first husband and had a crisis of faith, mainly due to the judgemental attitude of the Vicar of my previous church. Luckily, I had just found greater tolerance from the church near my newly acquired flat.

Here’s a link, if you’d like to hear it:-
www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtQOY-0sViQ

Kristofferson was inspired to write it after visiting a church during a low point in his own life.

Have as good a day as possible, everyone! God loves you. ??????

Morning Mick and all

Sorry to bother you Mick but today is the 28th April.

Today will be busy as it’s our youngest AC’s birthday ? I shall probably walk with her down to the other end of our road (1 1/2 miles) to a lovely tea room for breakfast after the school run. Then we are all going out for an early celebration dinner.

Wishing you all a peaceful day (((hugs))) to those in need or just want one ?

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Morning Mick, morning All from a very chilly corner of Somerset

A very reassuring visit to the dentist yesterday. I need a referral to the dental hospital but in the meantime my (very easy on the eye) dentist can help the issues so I’m more comfortable. I’ll not mind returning grin.

There is family sadness as our (ex) daughter in laws partners dad died suddenly. They are devastated, our granddaughters are both beginning exams and this feels a final straw for them. We’ll see them on Sunday and can at least offer a hug. Feel very sad for them all.

An early start today as Mr C can collect new hearing aids which should make a positive difference for him while he waits for an MRI to check nerve constriction. A celebratory coffee before making use of the journey home to accomplish several errands.

That’s a shame about your massage grandmattie. Wishing your husband and everyone managing illness a more comfortable day.

Hope Thursday is kind to us all

J

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. It is my Book Group today which we hold in the village cafe. We are talking about books published in the year of our birth. I will talk about The Go Between by L P Hartley and Childhood’s End by Arthur C Clarke. I am expecting more birthday flowers and chocolate to be delivered today! Younger son forgot my birthday on Tuesday so has organized a belated present. It is Home Group on Zoom tonight. I will try and relate a couple of verses in Revelation to Julian of Norwich. ??? to lots of you.

Ashcombe Thu 28-Apr-22 07:16:43

Ladyleftfieldlover: would you be willing to share the reference for those verses from Revelation, please, as I would like to read them? Thank you. ? .

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 28-Apr-22 07:19:09

I’ll do that this morning, when I’m up!

Good morning all from a misty North Leicestershire.

I haven't managed to post on this lovely thread for a while as there have been lots of things going on within our extended family and friends (mostly DH's side!!!!! grin) but I have been reading most days.

Today, I have a pedicure booked this morning and the window cleaner is coming to do the inside windows (he could be some time).

This afternoon we are expecting a visit from DS2 for a quick catch up and brew and I am having my hair done. Meanwhile, Sainsbury's will deliver my order and, when I get home, I will swear a lot while trying to find where DH has misplaced everything. grin

Ashcombe I love anything by Kris Kristoffersen as did the mother of one of our SiL as she named him Kristoffer.

Wishing everyone with worries and sadness a calm and peaceful day.

Urmstongran Thu 28-Apr-22 07:25:15

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s sunny with a high of 22°C forecast. Enjoy your holiday in Lisbon Pittcity somewhere I’d like to visit someday. I’ve never been to Portugal. It’s chillier than Spain I hear because it’s got the Atlantic and not the Mediterranean! Take a cardi. ?

We have no plans. Another walk - perhaps along the paseo for coffees and people watching. It’s lovely now mask wearing has finished here, I hardly see anyone wearing one, maybe one person in a hundred. Only obliged to wear them on public transport or in medical settings including pharmacies now, not supermarkets and bars, hair salons anymore.

Enjoy Thursday everyone who can. Well spotted about the date GG13! I hadn’t noticed the error. Hope your husband has an easier day in the hospice grandMattie and you have a bit of head space. x

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a dull chilly Hull morning.
grandMattie ?

Today we are having a drive over to Harrogate for a wander around the lovely shops and the parks. I might loosely look for a dress for a wedding in June but my weight isn’t where it should be so I’m not really in the mood.
Yesterday we had DGS and he had a crisp then was fiddling with a tooth so we thought he had some crisp stuck. He got my finger and put it in his mouth to show me. Next thing a tooth was on the floor but before we had chance to pick it up he ran into the toilet and flushed it. ?
His poor Mum and Dad haven’t got any of his teeth because he’s swallowed them all or they’ve gone down the plug hole. He can’t tell us he has a wobbly tooth so no one knew yesterday.

Hope everyone has as good a day as possible today and are able to find a moment of joy??

Good morning all from the Black country dull and cloudy.
Housework (Yuk) to do and a bit of ironing, like to get everything done before my holiday.
I believe pittcitty is off to Portugal today ✈safe travels we will be arriving there on Sunday.
Take care all and may you all find some ?.

Gingster Thu 28-Apr-22 07:34:10

Good morning all - a bright beautiful morning but still ?.

GG have a lovely breakfast with your DD and evening meal with all the family. ???. You have a beady eye - I hadn’t noticed the wrong date. ?

GM - a shame about your massage but you have that to look forward to.

. Hope you have a gentle day with your DH.?

Market day in town was cheerful - a lovely atmosphere with a chap playing accordion . I got our skate wings, lilies and stocks from the flower man for £5 and 3 bunches of tender asparagus for £2.50. I do love a bargain (as Marydoll says) ?.

Today I have my bowls group. I won’t go to art club as I need to shop for the weekend. The twin GS’s will be 16 next week and we’ll have all the family round for cake and fizz! . Their reunion with their dad is proving positive and he is taking them go-karting. The last birthday he shared with them was when they were 2. Let’s hope it continues. ?.

I hope you all have a pleasant day ???

Pittcity Thu 28-Apr-22 07:34:27

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester. Still no rain forecast and the heating has kicked on again as the thermostat is set at 18 first and last thing.
I am off to Gatwick shortly for a long weekend in Lisbon with my sisters and our Mum. The trip is part of Mum's bucket list.
I have left DH a list as apart from feeding himself he is quite lazy domestically. Must add watering the garden!!

Love to all ? x

Urmstongran Thu 28-Apr-22 07:41:45

Oh a ‘ladies only’ holiday Pittcity how wonderful. You’ll have such a laugh together! No locator forms for Portugal needed either they said from last weekend. Travel’s getting easier. Good stuff.

Grandmadinosaur Thu 28-Apr-22 07:41:57

Good morning all from a grey East Yorkshire. Where has the sun gone?

I’m up early as DS has arrived to get a shower here with them awaiting the completion of a new bathroom. I must say the workmen are cracking on with it at a much better pace than we had ours done last year.

Yesterday I had a nice relaxing pedicure. DIL sent me a text asking if I wanted to meet for lunch so that was a nice surprise.

I don’t have any plans for today apart from GS after school. Son just told me that GS kept getting up after went to
bed last night. The stairs in there come down in to the living room and at one point GS appeared naked saying he wanted to be like Daddy ??

Sorry to hear your sad news cornergran

Take care everyone.

Grandmabatty Thu 28-Apr-22 07:45:44

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 1°!! It's bloomin Baltic. Oh for the warmth of Malaga Urms. Enjoy your trip Pittcity.
Yesterday was haircut day. My lovely hairdresser feels so bad that I have almost no hair, that every time I go, he gives me a salon freebie. He never says that's why he does it, but I can tell. Then a visit to mum who had a very unsettling experience with a neighbour on Saturday and is now more than ever determined to move. After that I had a soothing two hours at art class. I finished my dinosaur painting for dgs1 and my tulip head painting. I'm trying life drawing and painting again to challenge myself.
Today will be very quiet. I've had a busy week so I'm happy to stay home and potter. Chicken curry for tea again. Have a good day all.

merlotgran Thu 28-Apr-22 07:47:08

Good morning everyone from a chilly south coast.

DD is popping in after work for supper tonight as DSiL is working away until tomorrow. I’ll make a Thai meatball curry as she’s low carbing so we can have Bare Naked Noodles instead of rice.

More outside painting to be getting on with as well as upcycling yet more plastic plant pots. I’m certainly doing my bit for, ‘Reuse, Reduce and Recycle!’

Hope you all have a good day. Stay safe and well.

baubles Thu 28-Apr-22 07:47:30

Good morning all from chilly but bright South Lanarkshire.

No childminding today as they are away for a few days but we are still going over to their place so DH can paint the kitchen walls. I’ll clean the house for them as a kind of pre new baby present. I have checked with daughter outlaw that it’s ok to do so, she was delighted ?.

I hope your DH has an easier day Mattie. ?

Have the best day possible everyone.

baubles Thu 28-Apr-22 07:48:30

Meant to say have a lovely time Pittcity.

brook2704 Thu 28-Apr-22 07:51:29

Good morning everyone from Cambridge where it’s grey and overcast but it’s still lovely to be here
Have a great time in Lisbon Pittcity and enjoy!
I had an easy journey yesterday and DD1 picked me up from the station with DGS2 who ran to meet me
Not sure what I’m doing yet today DD1 mentioned something about lunch out but I guess it depends on how busy she is at work
Sorry to hear about the sad family news cornergran
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

BlueSapphire Thu 28-Apr-22 07:52:57

Good morning everyone from a dull overcast Northampton. Hope it isn't as cold as it was.yesterday. I had originally put a cotton shirt on, but was so cold I had to change to a jumper and find some socks.

Book club was enlivened yesterday afternoon by a glass of bubbly and a fresh cream sponge cake! We didn't talk about the book a lot, but generally set the world to rights.

DS is coming down this morning, returning the suitcases they borrowed for their recent holiday. He'll want a coffee, and I think I have chocolate ginger biscuits which he loves.

Sainsbury's delivery mid morning, and then after lunch it's ballet ckass. A health walk this evening, but not going to the pub afterwards tonight.

Take care everyone, rather envious of all these people off on their teavels..... But never mind, my turn will come in August.

ginny Thu 28-Apr-22 07:54:02

Good morning all from a dull N. Bucks.

Not sure how today will go. After 3 weeks of back pain which has gradually improved, I walked down to town yesterday with very little problem .
Suddenly last evening I had a problem with one of my ankles and the top of my foot and could hardly put my foot to the ground. Painful all night and not much better this morning.

Sometimes I think there is a Gremlin that moves around my body making different part painful and occasionally it’s whole family move in and choose a site each !
Sorry for the moan, I know so many of you have worse problems.
Anyway , hopefully I shall get to my club this afternoon as I have offered to help another member with some lettering for a project.

Wishing you all some sunshine and smiles in your day.

Susan56 Thu 28-Apr-22 07:57:14

Good morning from chilly Shropshire.

We are going to our younger daughters much delayed graduation today.DGS and I will be in the room where the ceremony takes place, the other guests will be watching in another room on a large screen.Unfortunately SIL is unable to get the day off work.DGS and I were practicing our cheers yesterday?

Thank you for the link Ash and the background as to why you chose that song.

Hope for a co for table day for your DH grandmattie.

Have the best day you can everyone.??
