Good morning from a dull Leicestershire, but sadly no rain.

Sar your post brought back memories. We used to drive from Holland to Chateauroux for our first stop on our way to the south every year and camp under the big trees. That first beer after erecting the wagon was amazing.

Yesterday I went Nordic Walking in the bluebell woods and today I am visiting a cheese fair.

May every one have the best day possible.

Good morning and happy White Rabbits Day from an overcast Northampton.

Have to stay in today as I am expecting delivery of my new laptop. It would be today as well that I have had two invitations out and have had to turn them down, depending on delivery time. Still, I have all the papers to read, puzzle pages to do, and the garden will need watering again.

Maw, enjoy the film; I was at the Filmhouse to see it last week, and also again yesterday to see 'Downton Abbey'; enjoyed a large glass of rose at each visit!

Hoping all have a pleasant Sunday.

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It is raining.
First of May first of May. The rest of the rhyme is rood so I’ll leave that out!

I went for a bluebell drive yesterday but that particular place needs another week or so. I will go again.

Today I will potter about and go outside this afternoon. I’ve Jersey Royals and salmon for my meal later.

I would like the cheese fair dragonfly. I shall have to seek one out.

Have a lovely Sunday whether a quite time or busy with family and friends.

About to go in to breakfast before we set off for home after a magical day yesterday for DS’s wedding when even the weather joined in the fun. Beautiful service with wonderful music and then a chance to catch up with so many people at the reception. Sufficient Bolly meant I ventured on to the dance floor for a little and felt truly happy for the first time in several years. It was all perfect.

GrannySomerset it’s so wonderful to hear about your day yesterday. What a lovely memory to carry with you forever x

Beechnut Sun 01-May-22 09:01:55

Lovely news GrannySomerset I’m so glad you were able to enjoy yourself.

GS, wonderful for you and thanks so much for sharing. Can almost feel your joy over the airwaves. Terrific!

hollysteers Sun 01-May-22 09:05:58

Good morning Mick and all from a damp northwest coast. Handyman/gardener due to jet wash, but not sure now in the drizzle. Maybe it will dry up. I have some sad looking plug nasturtiums to plant, having a brown thumb as opposed to a green finger, I fear for them, even though they are ‘supposed’ to be the easiest of flowers to grow. At least my new rose bush has taken, yipee.
Into the city tonight for meal with close friend/accompanist and hand over some music. I left him with a nearly unreadable song, poor man. Will dress up and make some effort.
White rabbits and hope you all have the best day you can.

Oopsadaisy1 Sun 01-May-22 09:11:49

Good morning from a drizzly day in Oxfordshire, frosty and sunny yesterday, but we need some rain, I’m fed up with watering the garden each evening.
A nothing day today, we had plans to go out, but they have been cancelled.
Sounds as though some Grans are having some lovely days out.
Hope everyone has a good 1st of the month and hugs for those who need one.

Marydoll Sun 01-May-22 09:16:25

Good Morning all, from a lovely wet Co Armagh ? , I have been lugging watering cans round my wee bit of a garden recently , one of the disadvantages of raised beds , they do dry out , but the rain leaves everything lush !
grannySomerset lovely to read of your uplifting day
My DD and her girls are in London having a lovely time , I think it’s Harry Potter today , I’m sure I did hear or the tradition of Arthur’s Seat , she has been living in Edinburgh for a few years
I hope you get to see Dolly today Marydoll
Nothing planned for today , I got online Mass last night from my favourite Church and it was my Favourite Priest preaching , I mentioned you all in my ?? . Mind you I did get scolded by an ex friend for that , she objected to me thinking she needed prayers !

Blossoming thank you for your kind words re my dashing about yesterday!

Grandmadinosaur Sun 01-May-22 09:29:11

Good morning from damp East Yorkshire.

So pleased to hear about your day yesterday GS congratulations to the newlyweds.

We had a nice relaxing day out yesterday. Coffee and lunch out in the sun.

No plans as yet today. DH will do his ironing. He’s started doing the couple of bits I usually have. Must have trained him right as last night he asked me if I have any ironing today. I didn’t but put some things in the washing machine to dry overnight so that there would be. I’m not daft ?

Take care everyone.

Grandmajean Sun 01-May-22 09:31:37

Just read through the posts and delighted to hear you had such a lovely day Grannysomerset
We had all the family here for a belated Easter dinner yesterday - Covid put a stop to the first plan - lovely to get together.

Stilllearning Sun 01-May-22 09:39:54

Morning from S Lanarkshire, just wanted to say I was so pleased to read your happy post GrannySomerset, you so deserve it.

Off to a friend’s 80th birthday lunch today at the House for an Art Lover in Glasgow, I haven’t been before and am looking forward to it.

Aggie it’s not Dunker by any chance? I discovered there during lockdown and still ‘go’ on a Sunday.

Best wishes to everyone for a good day???

harrigran Sun 01-May-22 09:41:12

Good morning from an overcast NE yet again.
It stayed dry until around 5pm yesterday so DS was able to go for a walk, I stayed with GD who had her homework to do. It was chemistry and I had to raid kitchen cupboards for equipment for an experiment.
DS and I played Scrabble and I let him beat me again.
Sister had her flight to Portugal cancelled on Friday and she spent yesterday on the phone and secured a seat on another airline, we thought she was going to lose her holiday.
SIL is coming this afternoon and I will roast some lamb for the two of us.
Have a good day all.

Auntieflo Sun 01-May-22 09:41:37

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. Just a quick pop in before we get ready for Church and Communion this morning. Accordingly there will be coffee afterwards. First time for such ages, so will look forward to that.
I have been reading all the posts, but just felt that I had nothing of interest to add recently.
Dragonfly, we visited a Cheese Fair, in Sturminster Newton, some years ago, and it was lovely. Found a cheese we liked, but they had sold out there and the local shop had none either.
Thinking of GrandMattie , Marydoll and all who are needing a hug.
Have a good day one and all.

merlotgran Sun 01-May-22 10:17:59

Good morning everyone from a cloudy south coast. I’m all behind this morning so multitasking like a mad thing.

I’ve dragged all my summer tops and T shirts out of the divan drawer so when I’ve finished my coffee I’ll get the ironing board out - It rarely sees the light of day!

Thanks for another book recommendation, Urms. I seem to get them all from you.

Hope everyone has a trouble free day.

Blossoming Sun 01-May-22 10:37:52

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s dreich in my corner of Lancashire, currently 11°C. Feeling warm without the breeze.

Very quiet at the moment. The few people about are carrying umbrellas. We haven’t had much rain recently so it is needed on people’s gardens.

Somewhat unusually on a Sunday I’m up and dressed, hope this is a sign my get-up-and-go is coming back. Bacon rolls and coffee for brunch, a short walk and some general pottering later.

Safe journey to all our intrepid travelling grans and enjoy your hols.

Thinking of all our grans going through difficult times, virtual hugs and love to all flowers.

Wishing everyone the best day possible and a happy May Day ???

dustyangel Sun 01-May-22 11:03:35

Good Morning everyone on a bright and sunny 1st May.

DH has been out to get the English Sunday paper that is available here, struggling to find a simple route because many roads are blocked as there is a big procession later. This is not because of the date but because the statue of The Sovereign Mother, the town’s patron saint which was brought down at the beginning of Lent will be returned to her normal resting place of a chapel on top of the hill. The procession becomes faster as they eventually run up the hill with many white handkerchiefs waving her goodbye.
The young and fit run too and then at midnight there will be a bonfire and fireworks up there.

Good morning from a wet co. Fermanagh. Happy May Day to you all.
We are chilling this weekend after spending three weeks with the grandkids. We are now missing them a lot. Went to see the new Downton movie last night and thoroughly enjoyed it.
