I don't believe in an eye for an eye.
I do think some people have no place to be out and about in society.
As,for children being removed (fictional ones at the moment) I know social services do a actually do that, so are you condemning them?

MissAdventure Thu 05-May-22 20:46:30

But you're the person who said it, not me, on the 'like button' thread.

volver Thu 05-May-22 20:47:29

I'm condemning (seeing as we're in the mood for condemning tonight) the people who have already made up their minds that they know all about this person and want her lynched. I don't expect agreement from the mob with the pitchforks, but I'm entitled to my opinion. ?

MissAdventure Thu 05-May-22 20:49:00

So you keep saying.
I'm not trying to change that, just disagreeing with it.

Its allowed.

volver Thu 05-May-22 20:50:05

Have I said anywhere that you mustn't state your opinion "MissA"? State away. Just don't expect everyone to agree with it.

They have gone through the process and she is not seen as a danger to the public. She will be on parole and can be returned at any time. So what is the uproar about? The crime was appauling but you will not reverse it by tearing up our legal structure.

MissAdventure Thu 05-May-22 20:50:54

grin
On here? Never would I expect that.

MissAdventure Thu 05-May-22 20:52:23

I'm sure she never was a danger to the public.

volver Thu 05-May-22 20:53:06

DaisyAnne is making some very valid points while I rant on. ?

MissAdventure Thu 05-May-22 20:53:58

Yes, she is.
Not that I agree with them...

I think the Government has said a Minister should overrule the law in cases like this. The start of the slipery slope. I wonder how their wives will feel when they have taken enough power to themselves to punish them for reading.

This. Definitely this.

This will actually be the second time she has been released on licence. She was recalled after breaching the conditions.

I doubt that she was too. What we need to be sure of is that she is being supported.

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 05-May-22 21:10:58

She’s served her sentence and will be on licence for the rest of her life. Any children she has in the future will be taken off her at birth. This is how the law works in a democracy whether we like it or not.

If only. And I could have done on this ... confused err, except it wouldn't be necessary.

MissAdventure Thu 05-May-22 21:17:52

I meant to address that to volver, except I'm about 3 posts behind. smile
Fingers are playing up.

We have far too many people in prison. This woman committed a hideous crime, the people entrusted with risk assessment conclude she can be released, on life licence.
If she gets pregnant, there will be safeguarding meetings. It seems unlikely she’d be deemed safe as a parent, we don’t and can’t know that.

Two children each week die because their parents/carers murder or neglect them. That in no way diminishes what this woman did and allowed to happen. But, it’s why we have safeguarding procedures

MissAdventure Thu 05-May-22 21:26:45

So, find more appropriate punishments/rehab for those imprisoned for minor crimes, and keep prisons for the worst perpetrators.
And really, do they come any worse than this?

JaneJudge Thu 05-May-22 21:37:26

It was appalling what happened but the two men involved and the Mum herself have learning/emotional and behavioural difficulties which were not dealt with properly or treated when they were children. I'm not excusing what happened but society doesn't learn from letting down vulnerable children and all it does is harm other children people too

Mine Thu 05-May-22 21:39:07

Sorry but in my view she should NEVER be allowed out of prison...What if she goes on to have more children and they are immediately removed from her...What a stigma they will carry through their whole life knowing what their biological mother did to their brother...Will totally shape them for the whole of their life's...Dont believe anyone deserves freedom if they take the life of a wee innocent child!!!

You might want to read the 20:02 post again then consider keeping your tongue in check.

Disgusting. I truly hope someone gets her and finishes her off, but I expect she'll be given a new identity, somewhere to live, financial benefits, some type of protection, and she'll carry on with her life.

So you’d like ‘someone’ to kill this woman. Which someone do you suggest? Psychopaths anonymous to identify a suitable assassin to murder this woman and crack on BBC with the rest of their lives killing the occasional person some random stranger deems unfit to j
