What's your favourite way to de-stress?

Whether it's personal stress you're dealing with, or global and environmental stress that gets to all of us over time.

What is it that brings a smile to your face; a feeling of happiness, if only for a short time?

Being on my own this beautiful day, I dug out the old C.D. player and am treating myself to my collection of 'Big Band', early Jazz c.d.s, turned up loud, of course! grin

Makes me swing and tap, dance and twirl; brings a smile to my face and lightens my mood.

Anyone else like to share what makes them happy when feeling stressed?

Being retired.

Zero stress.

I also like time entirely on my own. Very very early walking in the silence and birdsong is stress free.

Stirring a risotto when I’ve just poured myself a glass of the wine I’ve opened to make it...?

A chat with a friend. A walk in the countryside or reading a good book always helps.

Sitting on the garden bench on a day like this, looking at 50 shades of green and reading a good book. That's one of them!

Seems like so far, most of us really appreciate time to ourselves and I agree;here I am trumpets blaring, bee-bopping, on my own of course. All of your de-stressors are wonderful; nothing like being surrounded by the quiet beauty of nature, quiet endeavours like reading and cooking; I enjoy that too, and wine
while cooking is always fine!

Pottering in the garden then sitting in the sun house with a book and cold glass of wine.

Reading a great book and cuddling my username grin. Oh, yes, and red wine of course.

Crocheting.

Walking the dogs by the sea.

Sitting in the amazing garden of the retirement apartments complex I live in and that I don't have to mow or otherwise tend and thinking, Wow! I'm fortunate.

Being out in the open and seeing a beautiful view.

I feel quite relaxed just reading ( and imagining) the many R&R pleasures you all enjoy; wonderful!

A large glass of wine!

Wine here too. I know drink isn't the answer but it helps you forget the question!

grannyrebel7; dear pets always help relax us, don't they? Hope puppy enjoys 'his' show!

A cup of coffee, an early night and a good book to read.

Cup of tea for me.

If indoors, undemanding television. If outdoors, undemanding weeding. I am more relaxed indoors, though.

Walking in countryside is relaxing, but if I can't do that then playing Scrabble on this phone or reading a good thriller is my way of chilling out.

Sago Sat 14-May-22 21:52:54

A hike for me too.

dogsmother Sat 14-May-22 21:56:24

A walk with the dogs preferably with the sound of crashing waves alongside.

Sitting on the garden bench with a cuppa as dusk falls. My little dog at my side, the church on the hill opposite lit up, the scent of mown grass and spring flowers, owls hooting and bats flitting around.

Playing my piano, music always lifts my mood. Wine does also, so it's a close second smile wine
