Do you iron tea towels

Tea towels and pillow cases and duvet covers (only once every Preston Guild). Some t shirts, (just look better) damned hankies that OH insists on using. That's it. Apart from the duvet covers it takes 15 mins a week.

My DH uses cotton handkerchiefs too, but I don't iron them. If we have people coming to stay he likes to iron the duvet covers so I don't stop him. I once caught him ironing his pants too.
I blame his mother.

A little bit of what you fancy does you good, and if that happens to be ironing, so be it. It doesn’t stop me from reading, knitting, watching TV, meeting friends, walking and all the other things that most of us like to do.

I put everything into my tumble dryer, nothing ever needs ironing. I just hang things up or put them in a drawer when I take them out. Yes, you use electricity with a tumble dryer but nowhere near as much as you would use if you ironed everything. You should not iron anything that doesn't actually need it (particularly tea towels - are you mad), you're seriously wasting so much electricity. The iron and the kettle are the biggest users of electricity in the home.

Yes. Don’t mind ironing, but don’t iron towels, underwear, pjs, socks, etc. Only iron the “glass cloths”, not the terry ones. Prefer bedclothes ironed too.

Another ironing point. I put everything away as soon as it is dry. I don't see the point of putting ironed clothes away that will crease in the cupboard or drawer. I iron things when I need to wear them.

Nope, fold and stow as soon as properly dry, along with almost everything else.i only iron shirts, blouses/tops, trousers, table cloths and, very occasionally, my kilts.

Yes I always iron tea towels and bedding, socks ,pants, towels ,dusters . You name it I iron it ! I even go to my daughters house and bring her ironing home with me . My mum used to make me do hers from when I was 7 and now( I'm a lot more than 7 lol) I still do it .

Heavens no! I iron as little as possible. As a teenager I had to do the family ironing and mother liked everything ironed. Two brothers and little sister had no chores as I remember. Bitter, moi?

Old habits die hard. From nursing days early 60s were told an ironed, must be ironed cotton tea yowel coukd be used in an emergency for bad bleeding wounds. I have actually used this a couple of times when DH has had mishaps with saws, drills and goodness knows what else. Lost or bits of digits the results.

Meant towel not yowel.

In my book ironing t. cloths would be the same amount of energy and time wasted as if I ironed the ceiling, washed the print off the newspaper before I threw it away, disinfected the disinfectant, need I go on ?????? Oh well, each to their own so if it makes you happy Beau1958, carry on!!!!

I don't iron anything if I can help it. If I want to wear something that is creased I will iron it. Mostly I wear something else.

I iron as little as possible. My tea towels are terry towelling and dont need ironing.

I definitely iron tea towels and dish cloths. They fit in my drawer and look neat.
I stopped ironing sox and underwear decades ago but still enjoy ironing most other items .

I rarely iron but when I do I will do a tea towel. But only if it is in the basket otherwise it doesn’t get done

Yes, I'm a saddo! I iron everything, including tea towels, underwear, socks, handkeis (his - I use paper hankies) even towels if they seem a bit damp or too dry! I iron sheets and pillowcases too, even the cats blankets when they get washed!

No. I mostly use hse the towelling type so no ironing needed.

I love ironing but I have to be in the mood for it and have either a podcast or music to listen to. I have to say that tea towels snd pillowcases are my favourite things to iron.

I dont think ironing tea towels is needed I fold and smooth from the line

Ironing flattens the pile of towels and makes them less absorbent

My DIL irons everything but my DD never irons anything absolutely nothing. I usually iron more in the summer as I actually enjoy ironing, so tops and dresses are always ironed. I like pure cotton duvet covers and pillow cases so I do iron those with difficulty. I don't iron tea towels or formal trousers. OH does trousers as I never end up with just one crease down the front.
