Think I will have Prawn Tika GG and will bring a takeaway back to the kitchen for Mr Soop.?

Baggs Fri 27-May-22 17:14:09

Quick update about baubles: She has been moved out of HDU. Consultant is happy with her progress, she just needs to get stronger. Her daughter thanks you for all the good wishes.

Keep on with the strengthening vibes!

Wonderful news , I will keep Baubles I my thoughts
Thanks for the update Baggs

Grandmabatty Fri 27-May-22 17:23:49

That's good news Baggs thank you for the update. Baubles is in my thoughts every day. I had dgs1 for a few hours after nursery and taught him to spread peanut butter on bread, himself, the table and chairs. He was very proud. ?

Wonderful news Baggs. I hope Baubles continues to recover well.

Soop I will attempt to save a little curry for MrSoop, there’s a big potful but Mr.B has no problems with his appetite!

Thank you Baggs. Just what we wanted to hear. Good wishes to Baubles. xxx

Nannytopsy Fri 27-May-22 17:44:12

Thank you Baggs and healing vibes to Baubles.
Is gin time 8am Soop ?
We are now in a lovely B&B in Milford on Sea, close to my brother’s house. The sun is shining with no nasty cold breezes. Why wasn’t it like this last week??

Very good news about Baubles!? We have spent most of the day getting ready for our holiday tomorrow. We won’t be setting off for Cardigan until around noon. I’ve been packing etc. and realised we had half a dozen eggs which would be out of date by the time we got back. So I made a batch of my favourite chocolate cakes and put them in the freezer. It’s an American recipe with twice as much chocolate as usual, butter, four eggs and just a couple of ounces of plain flour. No icing is required but a blob of whipped cream is delicious!

cornergran Fri 27-May-22 18:48:14

Excellent news, baggs, thank you for passing it on. I’m sure you’ll be stronger soon baubles.

Phew, galen, good job you were rescued in time. Stay safe.

Fingers crossed for a fine day for you tomorrow soop.

All the talk of holidays promoted me to suggest a day out today. Off we went, found ourselves on a boat trip. Definitely felt like a holiday smile.

Take care everyone. Enjoy what you can. TOYA.

Good news about baubles.

Lovely pictures of bowls, flowers, Imp, feet and sky (hope I haven't missed anyone out)!

We like Premier Inns too, and as you say, soop, they are reliable. You know what you are going to get.

DH is getting niftier with his crutches and I am recovering a few of my old, but very limited, cooking abilities. The weather here has been pretty un-May-like today, but nothing we can do about that. There are worse things in the world, after all, and everything is very lovely and green with all the rain. ? ?

Very good news from Baubles daughter. Some sunsets for soop and an apology for my bad grammar misprint.

My excuse and the reason for the delay in coming back to you all, is that the internet chap arrived to sort out a few problems for us. I say chap but he only looked about 16! DH was cross examining him as he worked on my iPad asking if he was new to the company. He disarmingly explained that he was working a trial period and he could help us as these were all familiar problems and he knew what to do but he wanted to stay with the company and learn to do a lot more complicated things. He so polite and earnest and not at all fazed by DH’s complete lack of memory when it came to passwords. I do hope he does well.

Beautiful flower arrangement from naughtyneine and I hope you haven’t damaged your new hip.

We’ve had our meal and Friday night for us is not curry but usually an easy sweet and sour mixture. Able to watch the birds as we ate and Mr Blackbird having his evening bath. Didn’t get a photo of him but the Azure winged magpies were still flying backwards and forwards. The last photo shows one mid flight as it suddenly spotted something on the ground and narrowly missed flying into the house by mistake. It’s a bad photo because of all the reflections but interesting to see them getting less nervous..

Delighted by the good news of Baubles and SueD’s almost successful part one of her move. So exhausting and I hope it all proves worthwhile.

Was very dismal today so forced myself to start tackling DH’s drawers - mostly full of old spectacles and out of date pills and potions, enlivened by old cheque book stubs and socks. Lots of rubbish and a few things to start the hospice shop pile though I am waiting for DD to come and help with the main clothes sort out. Then there will be the books ……

We are all mentally with you GrannySomerset. I hope the sun is shining for you and lifting your spirits a little.

GrannySomerset Sat 28-May-22 10:06:43

Thank you, neine, having actually done something rather than think about it was good for me. Sun shining here so once the washing is on the line I plan a trip to the garden centre. Summer pots, here I come!

gillgran Sat 28-May-22 10:14:14

Thank you, Baggs, for keeping us updated, I'm pleased that *baubles is continuing to make progress, We are all wishing her well.

Happy holidays Nannytopsy & brook.

I love to see the great sunset photos, thank you.

gillgran Sat 28-May-22 10:18:42

Thinking of you all, especially GrannySomerset. flowers,
The sun is shining here, too, (my washings out!), a trip to the garden centre sounds good.

Nannytopsy Sat 28-May-22 10:31:43

* GrannySomerset* I find that I wear myself out thinking of doing something, but the actual task is never as bad as I feared. I hope your jobs go smoothly.

soop Sat 28-May-22 12:56:58

Baggs Many thanks for updating us regarding Baubles. She is rarely out of my thoughts. We both send her healing vibes.

You lot have beat me to it. The kitchen is heaving with activity and I am having an early lunch in order to visit the plant and bake sale early this afternoon. It's a lovely day. The event will be held in a marquee, which seems very sensible.

We did walk this morning. The birdsong together with the many fragrant flowers (wild garlic in particular) was uplifting. Then we added our names to the list of foods required for next weekend's jubilee celebration.

I shall return after the outing to the sale. Catch up with you then.

Baggs Sat 28-May-22 13:05:57

I've been pondering this..... pondering because I'm nervous about risk. Probably unnecessarily.

I have baubles" address. Obviously I can't give it to anyone else but if any of you, especially those who have known her for years and have met her, want to send her a card, then you can PM me for my address and I will send cards on from here.
