My Dsister2 is on her way to Chicago
(again) so I am visiting her house, feeding and making a big fuss of her dear rescue cat. It's very therapeutic stroking a big friendly cat who likes to sit up on the sofa beside me. I've set a wee alarm on my phone in case I doze off! My nephew will take over the flat and cat sitting duties after the weekend.

Pressure washer man came this morning and did a great job on my patio and drive. He's coming back next week to paint the fence. We used to do all these jobs ourselves until recently. I find it takes so much longer than previously, and really tires us out, so it is time to arrange for some help. Save our strength for childcare!

Today I have been to a friend's house for coffee and a piece of tea loaf. It was her mum's recipe and is delicious. My lovely next door neighbour has painted my side of our small adjoining fence. I will have to thank him with chocolates. At this point in the day, I have no idea what it'll be for dinner. Exciting! Whatever you do, have a good afternoon kitcheners.

Ta dah! I be back. I have missed you all and it will take time for me to catch up with the latest happenings in the lives of our dearly loved Kitcheners.

Mr Soop says a whopping thank you for the many kind messages he returned to find on Gransnet.

It was a stressful event with hours of travel and two big hospitals to negotiate and several taxi rides through the busy city of Glasgow. Everyone we encountered, was kind and most helpful. Mr Soop was admitted at noon. He was delivered back to the table I had occupied in the coffee shop, at five o'clock. I had read 18 chapters of a new book. He was accompanied by a nurse and wore goggles. His face was bruised. He could barely see and a taxi was organised to take us back to the Premier Inn. He fell on the floor of the taxi but was then helped to sit down. When we returned to the hotel, I had to lead him into the lift and along the corridor. His eyes were streaming and he was a bit shaky.

The bus journey home took four and a half hours. The driver was extremely thoughtful. He took us to the bottom of our driveway...not a designated stop. Ever since, Mr Soop's eyes have watered constantly and I have been his personal nurse, administering three types of drops four hourly. He has Lymphoma and, on reading the accompanying blurb, (relating to two of the meds) there is a warning of excessive bruising and to speak to the GP. The GP is speaking on line to Mr Soop as I write. The GP is happy. That's a relief.

The day started at 4am to find DD’s dog, who was frightened by the storm we had. School run at 7 ?. Just finished the holiday ironing and tomorrow it’s packing.

Hi all, a quiet day on the phones, glorious evening after off/on cloud all day, hectic storm last night which didn’t last long. I’ve planted out cosmos and a new Passion flower, managed to kill the last one, oops.
Just had a txt to book my pneumonia vaccination, I’ll do that next week. We’re away at the weekend for a few days to Shepton Mallet (I didn’t mean to book it when the PGA was on!).

Hello, lovely Kitchen people, just popping in to see if there is news of the Soops? I hope everything is going well for them in Glasgow.

My dear friend and I had a great day out in the West End of Glasgow today. We haven't done this since before the pandemic. Went in on the train/ underground, ( still wearing masks), had a wee hour popping in and out of the nice shops, had a delicious lunch with wine, then a stroll in the Botanic Gardens, stopping to sit awhile in the sun, just delightful!

Brook, thanks very much for the cake and bubbly, how kind, and yes, the wee boy had a good nap yesterday whilst Gran and Papa put their feet up!

Hoping the Soops are doing fine

Good evening dear Kitcheners. It has been a beautiful sunny day here and we have spent time in the garden. I managed to set up Mr. B’s printer without much trouble. I also sorted out the updates on the iMac (which doesn’t get used as much now I’m retired) so it’s all up to date and ready to roll. We use iPads for most things now but I find the very large screen useful if I’m reading or watching tutorials while doing craftwork.

I hope everyone is well and enjoying life. I’m hoping to hear good news from soop when she has the time to post.

Urms I hope it was a very big glass at this price! I’d expect the whole bottle.

I have foolishly promised to set up Mr. B’s new printer tomorrow so he can send prints remotely from his iPad. Wish me luck! He is great at any manual tasks and chauffeuring duties but he is a Luddite when it comes to tech.
