So sorry to hear about your dear friend Susan. What a difficult day for you. I do hope that joyful news about the baby keeps your spirits up a little.

brook2704 Tue 21-Jun-22 21:15:56

Had another lovely day today pottering in the garden. As always there’s still lots to do and the time passes really quickly. Good job we’ve long days up here to fit everything in! It was very warm here today too, I started the day with jeans and T-shirt and ended with shorts and a vest top ( these are only ever worn in the privacy of my own garden these days ?) The picture is of some dahlias that I bought from Dobbies for £2.49 a few weeks ago - a bargain!

Good news about your DH grannmarie hoping he’s back home soon. Had a laugh earlier with your wee post!

I’ve never made Chicken Souvlaki grandmabatty sounds interesting though - we just had a plain old chicken salad! Bit boring really but tasted ok. Nothing wrong with a Tesco meal deal Shazza!

Hoping all goes well tomorrow with the scan hulahoopand with your blood tests too dogs

Brook your dahlias are lovely. Very vibrant. The chicken souvlaki was absolutely lovely. I have more marinading in the fridge for tomorrow. I made tsatsiki too and had big, fat olives. A very greek inspired meal tonight. I'm off to bed. Night all

Nannytopsy Tue 21-Jun-22 23:09:51

Evening again! Some very sad news in the kitchen tonight, some more encouraging and some downright happy! Thoughts and hugs for the sad people.
We have met up tonight with old friends we met 30 years ago at the school gate. They are in Suffolk for a short holiday. Such a great evening, we didn’t stop talking!
I am slowly winning in the garden. Perhaps by the weekend?
NNST and remember - the nights are drawing in now! ??

Thank you so much for all your kind thoughts.

Today we have a quiet day catching up with house and garden jobs and hopefully a relaxing afternoon.

Hope all the appointments go well today and that Blossoming is feeling better.

Dogsmakemesmile Wed 22-Jun-22 09:35:21

Morning. Thanks for the fabulous photograph of the dahlias Brook. So uplifting. Thanks also for best wishes re blood tests. Got the day wrong (please tell me I am not alone!) and they are actually tomorrow.
Lots of errands planned and a leisurely coffee with Ddog and DH. Taking unworn shoes to charity shops/shoe bank. Really enjoying this sense of clearing out the house. My best wishes to all.

soop Wed 22-Jun-22 15:57:42

Right! The kitchen will be closing sometime soonish. Perhaps at the weekend. Our new kitchen is being prepared for a buffet to celebrate us lot being together - through the good times - and the bad times.

I shall be away for much of Thursday. Should the kitchen close in my absence, please will one of our kitcheners do the honours. The key will left in the usual place. wink

Susan I cannot find the words to express my shock and sadness on hearing about your young, good friend's terrible diagnosis. and prognosis. Life can indeed be very cruel. flowers

gillgran I was born and lived in Northampton for many years. At which church will the memorial service be held?

Good vibes coming your way, Shazza.

brook Your dahlias most certainly were a bargain. Such a cheerful, gorgeous colour. We bought a few plant at the village plant sale. Our purchase is looking very sorry for itself.

Nannytopsy Don't even think about the nights getting shorter from hereon. Tyke! grin

Dogsmakemesmile I agree that "clearing out" is theraputic. I go through the routine whenever I can summon up the energy to make a start. Right now, my energy reserve is depleted.

Our great granddaughter, Willow, celebrated her first birthday yesterday. I hope that you won't mind me sharing her photo with you.

Grandmabatty Wed 22-Jun-22 16:00:29

Soop Willow is just gorgeous!

ShazzaKanazza Wed 22-Jun-22 16:12:39

Good afternoon lovely Kitcheners. Sat here in a steaming hot kitchen because my grandson Zack keeps closing all the doors. It’s a phase he’s going through the dear little love.

Hello little Willow ❤️ Beautiful angel

I picked up my friend today who is just recovering from an operation and getting covid on top. She is very down. She’s feeling very weak still. I had to get her out before she killed her husband lol. They are going through some stress with her recovery. So we had a slow walk around the shops. I treated her to a milkshake in Costa and brought her back to ours so she could sound off to my DH as well. She felt much calmer when I dropped her home. ? All will be well later at their house.
Speak later hope you are enjoying some sunshine everyone ?

Susan56 Wed 22-Jun-22 16:46:21

Thank you soop.x

Willow is absolutely gorgeous, can’t believe she is one already?

We have had a peaceful afternoon in the garden.Nature is very soothing isn’t it.

Shazza, I’m sure your friend must feel so much better having sounded off to you and your husband.

Planning on a restful evening in preparation for a day with Hurricane Henry tomorrow?

GrannyGravy13 Wed 22-Jun-22 16:47:34

Urmstongran sends her best wishes, she is hoping to be off of the norty step soon ?

Mixed news Susan56 one of my Great Grans always said someone in someone out and as I travel closer towards the out and further away from the in I think she may have been correct.

Beautiful pictures of children and flowers ?

Wishing you all a pleasant evening ?‍♀️

Good evening lovely Kitcheners. Today has been a scorcher and I have been out for a walk! There’s a lovely cool breeze by the water, I took my time and meandered around passing the time of day with a few fellow walkers. I had my step counter with me and when I got home I saw I’d clocked up 1070 steps. I’m so sleepy now I may fall asleep over my dinner, delicious veggie curry on the menu tonight.

Beautiful pic of Willow Soop.

Blossoming Wed 22-Jun-22 18:05:05

I wanted to share this pic of the river looking especially beautiful at low tide, but forgot to attach it! Doh grin

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 22-Jun-22 18:09:00

Well folks, I had a wonderful day at a Craft School making a stained glass garden ornament. I will post a photo when it’s totally finished. The last thing we did was cover it in some sort of cement which has to be removed tomorrow with a stiff brush. There were eight of us plus the tutor and we had lunch and a cream tea. OH and I are going for Steak Night at one of our favourite restaurants later, so I’m looking forward to that.

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 22-Jun-22 18:10:40

What a beautiful baby Willow is!

SueDonim Wed 22-Jun-22 18:56:35

Happy birthday to little Willow, Soop! ❤️ My GC have that highchair as do half the local cafes and restaurants and indeed us, too. An absolute bargain from Ikea, the legs can be detached easily for storage and the seat goes in the dishwasher. What more can you ask for?

Gorgeous day here today so I’m sporting a summer dress. We’ve been out to do some errands and get some messages (Soop will know what I mean!) and were successful in completing them all, hurrah.

Dd2 continues to get better though is still testing positive so no back to work yet.

We’ve heard that our friend’s funeral is at the end of next week. It’s going to be a hard one, that’s for sure, though nothing like as difficult as for his lovely family.

TOYA.

Charleygirl5 Wed 22-Jun-22 18:57:45

Willow looks so happy- I cannot believe she is one, I remember when she was born.

It has been so hot here, 28C I stayed indoors and watched the tennis. Tomorrow thunderstorms, cooler and showers-I must be in England.

ShazzaKanazza Wed 22-Jun-22 19:21:41

Hello again Kitcheners. Just finished dinner. Had some bbq tuna with crispy lettuce, beetroot and micro greens out of the garden.

Blossoming well done on that walk and the river looks fantastic. Hope you stayed awake for your veggie curry
.
Ladyleftfieldlover I’m looking forward to seeing your stained glass window.

SueDonim that sounds like it will be a very difficult day when it’s the funeral.

Charleygirl we have another hot day tomorrow. But we are going to the coast. Then over the weekend it’s forecast some rain which I hope we get for the veg patch and the little frog ponds we have.
Right lovely people back to my wine.
TOYA speak soon x ?
