Some welcome good news Soop. Lovely to have something to look forward to Yiayia, hope the journey goes smoothly.

soop Thu 16-Jun-22 12:23:00

A silver lining against the dark clouds. My friend's husband may be able to walk a few steps with a zimmer frame this afternoon. That snippet of news was wonderfully uplifting.

Thank you all for being understanding. There are so many of you with trials and tribulations of your own. Our kitchen is for the sharing of all manner of news. We enjoy each other's successes and fun-times. We are also here to listen and share the worrying, distressing times.

My love to all you all. Enjoy the sunshine. Make the most of holidays. Travel safely.

Super special (hugs) for Grannmarie. You will have our continued virtual support. flowers

My thoughts are with you and your DH Granmarie.I hope you find a big improvement in the coming days.
Very early today, packing needs to be finished as we are checking cases in this evening.BA advised us to do this as the airport will be very busy tomorrow! It’s lucky we only live about 20mins from Heathrow.
My thoughts will be with you all especially Soop Granmarie and Ann.
Hope to send some pics of our favourite places in Corfu and Paxos, until then take care all enjoy the sunshine.

annsixty Thu 16-Jun-22 08:54:40

Grannmarie
Once again a scenario some of us have been through.
In my case my H’s dementia made it easier to come to rational decisions.
With you, not so clear cut, you want him with you.
I wish you and him all the very best.
Life suddenly becomes so difficult as many in the kitchen are finding.
Another beautiful day here, we must all “make hay while the sun shines”.

Grandmadinosaur Thu 16-Jun-22 08:09:33

grannmarie what a difficult day for you with emotions all over the place. Hoping and praying today will see an improvement. ?

Jaxjacky Wed 15-Jun-22 21:24:33

Everything crossed Grannmarie how swiftly life changes ?

Grannmarie Wed 15-Jun-22 21:09:58

Soop, Annsixty, Suedonim, I'm so sorry to hear of yoyr sad news, I am sure you will each be a real source of comfort and support to your dear friends in their worries/ sorrow. ??

Nannytopsy, I hope your injections are successful! ?

Brook, that sounds like a great day out. Will you be on the telly?

Once again, lovely Kitchen people, grateful thanks for your good wishes for my DH'S recovery. I had a meeting with his consultant today where best case/ worst case scenarios were explained, it was made clear which treatments would/ would not be offered if he deteriorates. We had to have the DNR conversation, so quite a scary day . Thankfully DHs temperature was a bit lower this afternoon so he was lucid enough for a basic chat ( I spoke with the consultant privately) because he's been away with the fairies for most of his time in hospital, really quite confused. He is still on oxygen etc and new antibiotics prescribed by the microbiologists to try to fight his infection.

TOYA, NNGB.

How dreadful Annsixty what a terrible shock so very sad. It’s good that you can share with us all Anne and I hope it gives you a little comfort.Sorry to hear your news Soop thinking of you.?

Jaxjacky Wed 15-Jun-22 20:44:51

How dreadful annsixty,I can’t imagine, thoughts with both you and soop in your sadness. Others too have, as Sue wisely says, some downs in their lives.
A hot day here, we have one of MrJ’s brothers visiting from Belfast, I’ve left them in the garden, reminiscing.
The warning light in my car was fixed today, under warranty fortunately, as a plus it was hoovered out and washed, excellent.
Enjoy your evening x

Liamsnana I’ve been to Betts y coed too. It’s really lovely there isn’t it?
ann so sorry to hear your news. What a lot you are having to deal with recently.
TOYA

brook2704 Wed 15-Jun-22 20:33:06

So sorry to hear such sad news annsixty sending condolences to your friend and her family ?

SueDonim Wed 15-Jun-22 20:04:21

Yes, you’re spot-on, Annsixty about not being able to take it in. I shudder to think what my face was like because my 4yo GD turned to her mum and said ‘What’s wrong with Nanna?’ (She hadn’t heard us talking, she just ran past in that busy way 4yos have.)

As you say, that’s just us on the periphery. For those who are closer, I cannot think of words to describe how they must feel. ?

Soop don’t apologise for not being upbeat 100% of the time. Life isn’t like that, it’s ups and downs, and having somewhere like this in which to share is a good way to help manage us cope, I reckon. Kitcheners’ kind words are comforting to read. And good news about your friend - that’s definitely an up! smile

Blossoming Wed 15-Jun-22 18:40:11

Good evening dear Kitcheners. I’m sleeping so well that after waking and taking my early tablet at 7am I promptly fell back to sleep and didn’t awaken until 10am, when Mr B returned from shopping and awakened me with a big mug of tea! I really must check what exactly they put in that medicine…

It’s sunny and bright here today, 2 lots of laundry dried in the sun. So sorry to read of so much sadness, isn’t it good that we have a lovely kitchen like this to share our troubles and triumphs? So sorry to hear about your husband’s leg ulcers nannytopsy, a most distressing condition. What an awful shock AnnSixty, far too young. SueD and Soop, big virtual hugs. My own wee niggles are trivial in comparison.

TOYA flowers

cornergran Wed 15-Jun-22 18:07:41

I’m so sorry ann, you’ve had a lot to deal with. It’s fine to be as you are soop, we all have our ups and downs. flowers for you both and anyone else finding life hard going.

Liamsnana Wed 15-Jun-22 17:49:28
