Good Morning Everyone,
Its sunny with a clear blue sky over brackley at the moment .
I am hoping to go to Bicester via Buckingham , if not direct depending on bus arrivals .Plan to have a Breakfast bap at the cafe in Bicester .
Its also the penultimate day in the Tour of Italy in the Alps , so could watch that in full .
Had a bit of bad news as to Glaucoma eye test , have got to return in 6 months or so for a check up, think that fall I had may have caused some damage eye wise, but will take broken glasses with me when it happens , but I am due my annual check at the opticians around July so hope she also picks some thing up as to it.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a dry but cloudy NE.
Bad night, went to bed as normal but couldn't sleep, it was 5am and daylight before I could settle down.
Message from DS at 1.30am to say that GD2 has a horrible cold and to wait for updates before preparing food in case they stay home.
My sister has booked her flights to the UK and will arrive about the middle of June and stay until August. I haven't seen her for three years and a lot has happened in that time, my DH used to drive them to and from the airport. It will be emotional when we meet again having both lost our DHs during the pandemic.
My thoughts are with you grandMattie, your DH's illness and treatment or lack of appears to mirror my DH's journey. A virtual hug for you {{{hug}}}
Baby steps Baubles, I am guessing you have joined the club that soop and I are members of so I do know what lies ahead for you. A virtual hug for you too {{{hug }}}

Good Morning all from sunny but chilly Harrogate
GrandMattie I'm so disappointed your are having such a bad time again flowers. I really thought the worst was over.
It will be good to find out if your eyes have been the cause of your falling Mick - can you try to see them earlier?
HollySteers that is a beautiful painting.
Lovely photos Ashcombe
Yesterday I had one small DGS. We have to lock all the doors because he is likely to try to escape. In fact he now goes round the house with keys to see if he can unlock any doors! He is mischief personified. We did take he to the park where he did make a bid for freedom, but he did stop a few times for us to catch up. I managed to get my new microwave working, but not tired any of it's gimmicks yet.
Today we are going to the birthday party of a 92 year old friend, who I haven't seen since before lockdown.
Have the best day possible folks

A later good morning from a sunny Northampton. Should be nice for a walk to the garden centre this afternoon; I need something to go in the pots hy the front door.

grandMattie hoping for a better day today; thinking of you.

Glammagran, I am on a Saga cruise in August too, wonder if it's the same.

Wishing all a good day.

Taichinan Sat 28-May-22 10:17:30

Good morning all from the Angus coast where it's cold, sunny and windy - but mostly cold!
Holly your flower paintings are so beautiful, and congratulations on selling one the other day. I'm not surprised!
So sorry to hear about your eyes Mick.
My Lovely Gardener's dog is sitting looking at me through the patio doors, so must go out and say hello - it's rather disconcerting!
This evening is DGD1's final end-of-year show so we're all going again, this time joined by my niece. I did so enjoy the first night on Thursday and am looking forward to this.
Tomorrow is the local town's Jubilee celebration and we are supposed to be doing a tai chi demo. Although we're mentioned on the posters, we have had no contact from the organiser, so all we know is which one of the three connected parks we're allotted to! We didn't want a stage because without a dress rehearsal we'd have no idea of the space we would have and could get no answers! Anyway, we shall just turn up, do a bit of tai chi from time to time in the grass and hand out some leaflets and then go home. To be honest, it isn't really a 'spectator sport'. It's supposed to be even colder tomorrow in the northerly wind!! Think warmly of us, all you with warmth to spare!
No I must go and try to source - via Mr Google - a replacement battery charger for the Bosch lawnmower. I've had it for years, but today the charger 'blew'.
Loving hearing about everyone's holidays, so safe journeys to all. Take care everyone x

Thinking of grandMattie at this awful time when she is already exhausted and hoping better support is put in place. It really shouldn’t be a battle to get what her DH so desperately needs, and I hope her DS is a comfort and help.

Trip to buy plants for summer pots this morning once washing is on the line. Trying to look forward rather than back, though it’s not always easy.

Blossoming Sat 28-May-22 10:08:17

Good morning Mick and all. It’s sunn in my corner of Lancashire, currently 14°C.

Mr. B and I are off out for a wander up the coast and a spot of lunch. I will read the thread later.

A warm welcome to any new posters I may have missed. Safe journey to any traveling and enjoy those holidays ??

Have a good day all, may all with troubles find some comfort. Special thoughts for GrandMattie and family.

Good Morning to you all from a bright & sunny Cambs.,

Sorry you have a problem with your eyes Mick. Like you, DH has glaucoma, his check up appointments were delayed during the pandemic, also due to a shortage of specialists in that field, in our area. DH also has a torn retina, we're hoping something can be done for this soon.
Take care, our eyes are precious.

Thinking warmly, of you & your family, grandMattie.

I always love the photos on here, today a cute puppy, & that beautiful flower painting, hollysteers, do you make them into greeting cards?
Enjoying the holiday pics., too, thank you all.

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
The gammy arm has eased thankfully by using my left arm as much as possible and I’m generally overtired by practices and singing. Early night last night but still tired.
Gardening help today, weeds are coming through the gravel, not nice.
I travel south tomorrow for sister in law’s funeral and will be with DD and sister. Not sure what to wear as I was cold out in the open yesterday, but then I do face the Irish Ocean ?
Thoughts to you grandMattie, life can be so hard.
Flower painting from yesterday.

Good morning Mick and all from sunny Carlisle.
I plan a bit of gardening today plus prepping the house for the visit of DS1 and family tomorrow.
Out on a car re-fuelling and local beef buying errand yesterday, I had to pass the garden centre and paid it a flying visit for some more lobelias. I had to force myself NOT to look at the new stock, largely successfully, and only came out with a tray of lettuce seedlings as extras.

grandMattie if only we could wave a magic wand and make life easier for you and your DH. I'm glad you have your DS there for some support.

I hope all have the best day possible.

Grandmadinosaur Sat 28-May-22 08:34:48

Good morning from sunny East Yorkshire.

Had a lovely day yesterday. Nice chat with the dressmaker, lunch at a local Greek with DS,DIL and baby before GS’s jubilee event at school. Each year sang a sing from each decade of the Queens reign. His year sang Let it go. It was sunny but very blustery which played havoc with the PA system as always seems to happen at these events. On leaving I bumped into a woman who is a teaching assistant there. We met at Ante natal classes for our children. She was excited to meet the GC!

Today we might have a trip to Beverley I have a click and collect order to pick up (if it’s ready) from a shop there and I need to exchange a skirt I bought the other day when I was there with my friend.
My DH is another one who will be watching the football tonight. He’s just gone for the paper and said I’m looking forward to reading the CL pull out ? at least it means an empty tonight for me ?

So sorry GM I hope today is a better one.

* Susan* I hope a better day for you too. So tough when you are far away.

Take care everyone.

Jaxjacky Sat 28-May-22 08:21:14

Good morning from a sunny S Hants.
grandMattie heartbreaking, thinking of you all.
Son and family here later for lunch after we’ve had a go at a bowls open day.
Hope for. ?or two.

Good morning from a cold, damp Visby! An extra port of call to compensate for St.Petersburg being removed from the itinerary.

So sad to read grandMattie’s post today. So ghastly for her after all the sadness last year. ?

Photos of the cruise though the archipelago. A late start as DH has a heavy cold but is negative for Covid and flu, thankfully.

Wishing some relief from suffering for those in need. ?????

Greyduster Sat 28-May-22 08:09:53

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a decidedly cool South Yorkshire. Mick I’m sorry to hear you have problems with your eyes. Not long until July and your optician can have a good look at them.
Had a busy day yesterday. DD and I spent the afternoon in the Botanical Gardens, which was lovely, except that the coffee shop was closed. We did get very good coffee and cake in a nearby park on the way back to the car. Then in the evening we went to the theatre to see Cluedo, a play (very loosely) based on the board game. It was ridiculous, chaotic and absolutely hilarious! I can’t remember the last time I laughed so much! I’m off home this morning to do some shopping as DS and DiL are here for lunch tomorrow.
GM my heart goes out to you. I hope you manage to get a better day today.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Grammaretto Sat 28-May-22 08:07:46

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. A lovely bright start to the Gala Day.
So sorry to hear of your hardships grandMattie. I had hoped that with DS there, a weight would be lifted. Keep going!

I awoke to a poem written and read aloud by my DGS in NZ. It's about bees.
It's things like this which keep me going.

Have as best a day as you can everyone.
