Good morning from a drizzly EKent.
Things were much better yesterday, although DH was very dozy. He ate his tiny portion of roast chicken and vegetable with appetite at lunchtime and enjoyed his soup and caramel custard in the evening. I managed a good nap.
DGS was due to come to lunch but had a cold. He rescheduled to meet DS for lunch on Wednesday. DS is not acting as his pater familias.
Cleaner coming today, she helps me change our bed these days.
I hope everyone has a gentle day. Carpe diem. ????☀️☀️

Ashcombe Mon 30-May-22 06:04:08

Good morning from the approach to Oslo, our final port of call. It’s cloudy but dry so far. A few photos from our day at sea.

DH is beginning to feel better after a dreadful cold for which we’ve received excellent care from the medical staff, including Covid tests which were negative, thankfully. A face to face appointment with the doctor was a novelty as I haven’t achieved that for more than two years!

I hope this is the start of a better week for those with worries about loved ones. ?????

grandMattie Mon 30-May-22 06:09:46

I heard about the petrol fire in Torbay yesterday, Ash. I hope it doesn’t affect you too much. Enjoy the rest of your holiday. ❤️

Grandmadinosaur Mon 30-May-22 06:16:23

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. We have a cloudy sky but looks promising for a brighter day later.

I’m up earlier than usual today as I have to be at the hospital by 7.30 for the procedure on my foot. Just had my last allowed fluids of water. So that is my day and will see what follows after that. I will be in plaster for six weeks which takes us up to mid July. Gosh this year is flying by when you say that.

Hoping the better days continue for you GM that sounds an improvement yesterday.

Take care everyone.

Ashcombe Mon 30-May-22 06:26:39

Thank you for thinking of us, grandMattie regarding the £6m yacht which caught fire, damaging the pier and causing pollution and traffic chaos plus the cancellation of a Sandy Toksvig show at the nearby Princess Theatre on Saturday evening due to the smoke permeating the building!
My flat is a couple of miles out of Torquay, in Babbacombe.

Good luck to you, Grandmadinosaur with your foot procedure. ?

cornergran Mon 30-May-22 06:27:25

Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy corner of Somerset.

A quiet if enjoyable day yesterday, just pottering and nattering with neighbours. Solicitor appointment this morning then helping our still less than mobile friend with her curtains this afternoon. We are promised chocolate biscuits grin.

Good luck with the procedure grandmadinosaur. Soon be over. Pleased your husband has had good care ash, what a shame he’s felt so poorly. Hoping for a good day for you both grandmattie.

Take care everyone. Hope Monday is kind to us all.

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where I am very hot but the weather looks rather grey! I may sit out with my toast?
The walk with DD and DGC yesterday has to go down as one of the most beautiful days I have had with them. DGS walked a full 5 miles around the Manifold Valley ending at Ilam Hall which had a beautiful cafe for lunch. He was looking at the map and looking out for things we said he would see. The map was upside down but he didn’t mind?? Not once did he moan and the carrier was rather comfortable on my shoulders considering I had a 1 year old in it!!
Off to work shortly and we have a lot to do this week as DH is off on holiday for 18 days on Thursday. DD is also off on holiday for a week of that so goodness knows what I will do with myself!!
Take care everyone and big hugs and thoughts to anyone who may need a hug today❤️

Oopsadaisy1 Mon 30-May-22 06:43:35

Good morning from a cloudy (but looking promising) Oxfordshire.
MzOops and the Oopsies arrived very late last night so after a snack we all went to bed.
Should be a nice day today with a chance to catch up, although MzOops has to work and the Oopsies are revising. One is doing A levels and the other one didn’t get the marks they wanted in their exams, so is catching up on work missed due to Covid.
So today, I will mostly be cooking I think. Oh and I spotted a bag of washing being carried in out of the car, so there’s that to sort.
Grandmadinosaur good luck for today
Granmattie so pleased you had a better day, it all seems easier when you have someone to share your worries, hope things carry on improving.
Mick I hope you enjoy the film
Have a good day everyone and hugs for those who aren’t so chipper.

monk08 Mon 30-May-22 06:44:46

Good morning all from a dull Black country, but the day will be brightened by the fact we have the boys. Plans undecided as to what we shall do but I think soft play may come into it.
Hope your procedure goes well grandmadinosaur
Thanks for the postcards Ash and happy to hear your DH was well looked after and is on the mend.
Sounds like some improvement for your DH grandMattie long may it continue.
Enjoy your Monday everyone and may you all find some ?.

Good morning everyone from Severnside. It’s cloudy and I can feel a cool breeze is on my knees from the open window.

Belated anniversary wishes to Mr&MrsLadyleft ?

I think I’ll have rest from painting the inside of my shed today. I’ll move some stuff ready for a tip run.

Over the weekend some of my neighbours have put up bunting etc so I got mine out and a few flags. I’m not sure whether to go to the street party.

I’ll go back and read the earl GM need now
.
Have a good day all ?

Good morning from Shropshire.

We had a lovely day yesterday, DH spent the day in the garden and I caught up with all household chores then spent the afternoon reading and watching DH work!Mum continues to improve??

Today DD2 and family are coming to stay ready for DH’s birthday tomorrow when DD1 and family will join us.DH’s birthday is always an event mainly because his is the only birthday when there is a chance of it being a warm day so fun in the garden for the grandchildren.

I hope today goes well for you Grandmadinosaur?

Safe travels Sar and Ash.

Wishing every one a good day.

BlueBalou Mon 30-May-22 07:18:56

Good morning everyone from a peaceful village on the northeast Wales coast. I can hear the DGCs chattering away while I laze in bed with a coffee.
We did a lovely 6 mile walk yesterday, nearly finished me off! Beautiful scenery, we watched a storm over the Cambrian mountains as we walked in sunshine, blue skies to the left, black clouds to our right.
DDog was asleep all afternoon, she loved chasing around on the beach with the boys.
Quiet day for me today, my ankles and feet aren’t happy ? so I will do some more knitting and sit and watch the sea.
Not sure what everyone else has planned.
I hope you all have a good day x

Marydoll Mon 30-May-22 07:26:47

Good Morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where its only 7 "C.

I popped in to send my best wishes to Grandmadinosaur for her procedure today. I hope it goes well.
Also sending my best wishes to all who are struggling.
I hope Urms is enjoying the sunshine and belated anniversary wishes to Mr&MrsLadyF, from me too? !

I'm waiting for 8am to phone to a GP, as I'm feeling quite unwell. Major asthma flare up, feverish and an intensely itchy foot, but I m unsure about breaking into my rescue pack of steroids, because I'm already immunocompromised and I have recently had anti virals for Covid.
I'm unsure whether it has anything to do with being in contact with Dollie at her most infectious, as I'm supposed to have chicken pox immunity (been previously tested) or its just plain coincidence. Anyway, that's todays plans scuppered!

Wishing you all the best of days, it's got to be better than mine! ?

Pittcity Mon 30-May-22 07:28:25

Good morning from sunny Colchester. I'll get DS's bedding on the line soon as the rain is due back later.
I have an empty as DH is taking DGS1 fishing.
Ham, egg and chips for tea.
Love to all ? x

ShazzaKanazza Mon 30-May-22 07:31:00

Good Morning Mick and everyone.
It’s looking a bit grey and rain is forecast today.
Enjoy your movie outing this morning Mick.
grandMattie it’s good to hear your DH had a better day and he found some appetite to eat. ?
Ash I’m pleased your DH is feeling better from his cold. I hadn’t heard about the fire in Torquay what a lot of problems it caused by the sounds of it.
Hope Urms had a good journey to Ibiza yesterday and security wasn’t to long at Manchester.

Sar have a safe journey home.
Hope your procedure goes well Grandmadinosaur I’ll be thinking of you today. You know where I am?

Take care everyone and hope you can enjoy your day. Hoping everyone with illness and worries a better day. ??

Greyduster Mon 30-May-22 07:32:53

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. A cool cloudy start to the day in South Yorkshire. DS and DiL came for lunch yesterday; lovely to have people around the table (and he did the washing up!). He helped me with a bit of light gardening before they went home. GS is coming with his Dad this afternoon - with their bikes! They are going to ride around the country park. I will meet them there but I will very definitely not be on a bike! Then GS is staying here with me overnight. He is always good company. We will probably find a film to watch on tv and eat popcorn!
Glad things are improving Grandmattie. May it continue.
Have the best day you can folks.

dragonfly46 Mon 30-May-22 07:35:18

Hope you feel better soon Marydoll.

Gingster Mon 30-May-22 07:38:22

Good morning all and it’s sunny at the moment. We had torrential rain as we left db’s yesterday afternoon.

This morning I have my Chiming group. Little gd will come here to be looked after by Gaga (grandad), as mum is working and it’s half term. They get on well although Dh will sit in his armchair watching the golf while DGD will get on with her crafts , etc, interacting now and then ?. She told me last time ‘He’s a lazy chap’ ?.

Sar - safe journey home. Your month sounds to have been lovely.

Ash - enjoy the last day of your cruise.

grandmadinosaur - hope all goes well.

GM hope your day is a ‘good’ one.

????

Wishing you all a pleasant day.

Ali23 Mon 30-May-22 07:45:24

Good morning everyone, from Leicester.
So pleased to hear of Mr GM’s improvements, Grandmattie. Hope today is even more positive.

I didn’t get around to the crochet cardigan project yesterday, but gardened instead. I’ve planted out a most beautiful mauve coloured rose to fill an empty space. Also had to get rid of 2 old box plants which had been attacked by box moth, and completely defoliated! Mmmm now there are 2 new gaps to fill ?

Good luck with the foot, Grandmadinosaur.
Have a good Monday, everyone.

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 30-May-22 08:08:07

A quick morning all from a beautiful Cardigan Bay before the internet connection disappears again! We had a lovely day yesterday celebrating our 46th Wedding Anniversary with a tasty lunch at a beachside restaurant. ??? to GM and Mr GM.

Beechnut Mon 30-May-22 08:09:52
