A ‘happy to be celebrating the jubilee’ thread.

Just to balance things out grin

Seems to be a lot of people on here really not interested in the jubilee celebrations, so I thought it would be nice to have a thread for those of us who are happy about it & think 70 years as our queen is a fantastic achievement.

Are you going to any events or parties?

Well that’s the 4 days of celebrations over & I’ve throughly enjoyed it ( apart from a few dubious acts last night grin
It’s been wonderful, & so nice to see the crowds cheering along & supporting the Queen & all the events.

wonder what they are like in real life.

Speaking personally, I'm a little ray of sunshine ?

We had a lovely jubilee party last night. Everyone had made such a great effort and the buffet was colossal. Amazingly, it was all consumed. The friends and neighbours posed for photographs with our newly planted jubilee tree. A general good time was had by all.
Watching the video of the Queen with Paddington after the party was just perfect! Happy days.

Last day today, thankfully a quieter one here.
Enjoy your parties those having them today. Hope the weather is kind.

Most impressive about today’s celebrations by us was the speed with which any litter disappeared when we had finished.

Amazing how even when the majority keep to the spirit of positivity some cannot resist being negative and unpleasant, wonder what they are like in real life hmm. I managed to watch part of the trooping of the colour in the morning and caught up with the rest in the evening, wonderful to see the pageantry, the precision and the superbly trained horses. Our village is celebrating tomorrow so I'm hoping the rain stays away and everyone can enjoy themselves.

*same not sane ha ha!

Joseanne Sat 04-Jun-22 16:19:30

Yep, and on the moutarde thread I said "who cares" what gender it is when someone accidentally trips up, sane with spelling. My comment to Calendargirl was to congratulate her in keeping this thread happy.
As you were folks. My next dog event is coming up.

PS. Negative comment deflected with aplomb Calendargirl. Very cool!

Aplomb? Really? Cancelling/deplatforming then making a snide remark about spelling?

...and I hope that at least a second's thought was given to the possibility that payens1 comes from one of the many parts of the world where 'Marvellous' is spelled with one 'l'.

Well, it’s 2 LL’s where the majority on GN come from.

And the thread is about celebrating , not slagging off the Queen.

I think marvelous is the Amerian spelling.

Which begs the question why a new poster from across the Atlantic is interested enough to make a negative comment?

Alert! On a related thread Joseanne has misspelled 'Britain'. Please feel free to pile on...

I will always be grateful to the Queen as it was on the day of her coronation I was at a street party where I first met the man I was to marry . Our marriage was to last sixty years.

Finished my work so joined in the Jubilee celebrations going on in our town square yesterday evening. The weather had cheered up, too.

A lovely atmosphere, good DJ, people dancing and looking happy.

A very pleasant evening was had by all.
