Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a brightening South Yorkshire. June already! The weather was pretty poor here yesterday, so GS and I couldn’t do anything outdoors (we had a hail storm in the afternoon!). I took him out to lunch and we spent the rest of the afternoon sorting through some photos and playing video games until I shuttled him off back to his parents. It was lovely to have him - the half term overnight stay has become a bit of a tradition he seems keen to carry on for now at least.
Today I have no commitments other than to wait for a phone call this afternoon. I might do some baking. Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I think the rain has just stopped but there are drops coming through the glass cupula in the roof which I try to ignore so it's time to call a roofer.
I went shopping with a friend yesterday and I was persuaded to buy a new raincoat in the sale. Now I've worn it, I am not sure....
Mind you, there is no such thing as too many raincoats in Scotland.
I have a hip X-ray later today as I have restricted movement and pain.
Thanks for the photos Ash. I love that entry into Newcastle up the Tyne. My gt grandma was born at North Shields in the days when all the ships were sailors.

First of June. Happy Birthday Mick

Good morning from cloudy Leicestershire.

Hoping it won’t rain as electrician couldn’t complete water feature in the rain yesterday.

Preparing for DD and SiLs visit today. It will be good to spend time with them.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all from an overcast Black country.
Have just put some washing on the line wishful thinking may be lucky rain non stop yesterday. Perhaps Urms could send some sun our way.
Haven't read through yet had a bit of a lie in after 3 early mornings, no boys today.
Best wishes to those celebrating, safe travels anyone travelling and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Wednesday and may you all find some ?.

Good morning all from East Yorkshire where it is overcast.

I had a quiet day yesterday catching up with a few jobs around the house and got out for a walk.
There is a scarecrow festival trail on in our village this week. There are a couple near us and I’ve noticed a few children and parents ticking them off the list. One is Cat in the hat and the other is The tiger who came to tea. I also noticed on my walk a Grenadier Guard and one of the shops had a life size cut out of the Queen with one of there carrier bags over her arm!

In the evening DH went for a drink with work colleagues so I watched tennis from Paris. It went on very late so I was thrilled to wake up this morning to see Rafa Nadal got through. Great match against Djokovic.

Take care everyone.

Good morning all and it’s fairly bright here in Essex.
Dh going fishing today and playing tenni later, so I have a ‘free’ day. I might have little DGD joining me as her mummy isn’t feeling too good!
I might try to get a haircut but really don’t know what! I fancy a new style but will probably regret it in a few days. ?.
So it’s a ‘might’ type of day.

Sar glad you’re safely home ?. We must try to get a catch-up coffee/lunch in with GG. Before the schools break up. ?.

Happy birthday to all celebrating. ?

Hope everyone’s day turns out well ?

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Don't know how long the sun will stay out as rain is 50/50 later. We had rain, hail and sun yesterday. I think my red, white and blue for the next few days will include jeans and jumper!
Weekly Wednesday coffee meetup in town this morning. DH has been sent to pick up DGS2 as DD2 is feeling under the weather.
Love to all ?x

Good morning everyone from a cloudy Northampton. Hoping it stays dry as our well-being cafe is having a Jubilee picnic this afternoon, (which I have provided sausage rolls for), but if it rains we can scuttle inside.

But first I have a neighbours coffee morning to go to, except this is an ex-neighbour hosting it, and she lives the other side of town. Looking forward to her cakes as she is an excellent baker!

Had a good walk between the showers yesterday afternoon, but was glad to get into the cafe for coffee and chat.

Upset yesterday evening to find out that elder DGD was dancing in a local show, which somehow DS and his partner had neglected to tell me about. They usually ask me if I want to go with them. Only found out because her mum posted pictures on Facebook. Felt sad to be forgotten.....

Hope today turns out well for all, so many people with plans for today; hope it is a good day for those with worries and cares.

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Returned last night after being in the south for funeral. Terrible business getting out of Liverpool by train the day after the match. Trains cancelled, then full, not allowed on even with reserved seats. It was freezing hanging around the station. Also realised I had forgotten all my medication in a blister pack.
Then had a sleepless night and messing about securing some supplies. That taught me a lesson.
Windsor was lovely however and although a sad time, always nice to see family.
DD drove back and will be here for a few days which is lovely.
Thoughts to all with troubles.

Good morning all from a sunny W Kent. Survived dentist yesterday with just a check and a very thorough clean. Off today to change jumpers I bought the other day, they are too big!
This evening we have two large GC whilst parents go off to a concert, trying to work out what film will be ok for a 74, 15 and 11 year old - not easy (of course I will watch anything) but so lovely to see them.
Marydoll I am glad you are back in your own home and hope your brain stops whirring quite so much.
grandMattie hopefully another calmer day for you.
Best wishes to all.

Good morning from a dry Dunblane.
Had a lovely run up to The House of Bruar just a few miles north of Pitlochry yesterday in hubby’s new car. The weather stayed dry and even some sun in places the temperature soared to 15 degrees wow!
Lovely scenery and lots of gorse/broom in bloom. It was also lovely to see huge groups of bluebells in fields by the roadside.

Bruar itself for those of you who don’t know it is a very expensive experience, lots of premium Scottish brands at a premium price! We had lunch in the glass covered restaurant Courgette and cheddar soup and it huge “dod” as they say here of seeded brown bread. Different but very nice. Of course we also needed dessert.?

I did manage to buy a summer top so just hope we get the weather for me to wear it. The back down the A9 and home.

Thoughts to all coping with troubles, try to find something to smile about at some point.

Hello everyone! June 1st and the start of (the meteorological) summer, the skies are blue, the sun is shining! What a change on the Angus coast! I've already been for a walk round the garden just to prove I won't get frost bite.
So glad to see that you survived your ordeal at A&E Marydoll, and that Mr grandmattie is more settled and peaceful now. It's wonderful for you to have your DS to help and support you.
It's been a hectic (all things being comparative!) time recently. DGD1's end-of-year shows were excellent. I'm so proud of her. Over the past six years she has blossomed from a sad and bewildered 12yo who had just lost her daddy to this tall, self-confident young lady following her dream (and all credit to her mum who has guided her to this point).
Then, from the sublime to the comparatively ridiculous, we did our tai chi demo on Sunday afternoon in pouring rain and howling gales! It was utterly miserable. We had new Beginners' classes starting yesterday and a good few came along after seeing the demo, so it was worth it.
While we were doing that, DD was on the marathon Aberdeen Kilt Walk a few miles north of us. She and three other members were doing it to raise funds for, and awareness of, the charity WAY (Widowed and Young), which they did to the tune of £4,000. It is horrifying just how many young people lose their spouses and this charity acts as a lifeline for them if only they know it is there.
So, life returns to its peaceful normal self of taxi driving for DGD3 when required and meeting up with friends from time to time, and tai chi classes of course. With the ? beating down on me from a blue sky devoid of grey, what more could a body ask.
Have a good day everyone and as usual flowers a hug and healing thoughts to all who need them x

Good morning all from bright Harrogate
Slept in this morning and I now have DGS here. What a whirlwind, he’s only been an hour and I’m knackered!!
Have a safe journey home Ashcombe
Will try to read to rest of your posts, if there’s anything of me left after he’s gone home (about 6pm)! He’s really a super little boy, just got soooo much energy! Will take him shortly to soft play to try to rid him of some energy
Have the best day possible folks

Good morning all from the sunny Algarve where it’s actually pouring with rain! The question is whether it will dry out before my hair appointment later. It’s looking as if it will drizzle on and off all day.

Blossoming Wed 01-Jun-22 10:20:54

Good morning Mick and all. It’s dry and sunny in my corner of Lancashire with some fluffy white cloud, currently 13°C. Sounds like you’re having a thorough birthday MOT today Mick, hope all is well.

June already, this year is flying by.

Mr. B is doing the weekly shop, I’m enjoying a mug of tea and I will help put the shopping away when he returns. I need to collect my usual meds from the pharmacy. Apart from that just housework and a walk later if it stays fine.

Happy Birthday to MrOops.

A warm welcome to any new posters I may have missed. Safe journey to any traveling and enjoy those holidays those who are away?

Have a good day all and if you’re under the weather hope things improve flowers]

Good morning Mick and all from a cloudy East Northants. The sun was out earlier so I’ve mown the lawn, but it now looks like rain. Yesterday we had a downpour so I went to see the Top Gun film which was quite enjoyable, very much the Tom Cruise show! Going to watch the French Open later and maybe catch up on some reading. Have a good day all, thoughts with all those who are struggling.

GrannySomerset Wed 01-Jun-22 14:38:19

Late posting after a poor night meant a late start but as there is nothing planned for today it hardly matters. Finally bit the bullet and completed the application for a new passport. Old one ran out last year but in any case DH at some point put our passports away somewhere so safe that to date I haven’t found them. Not that I am planning on going anywhere but a passport is such a useful form of identification that I felt I ought to have one. And who knows, maybe next year ……

Sorry that Marydoll is still not well, hoping that grandMattie has a good day and that everyone else is OK.

Scapal happy memories of days out to House of Bruar, a good hunt round the sale department often found a bargain.
