Probably will get blasted but was sad that Prince Harry and Meghan were not seated together...this was a Service for all family/faiths and religions and Harry and Meghan were not together.
Back to your pod *volver"!
This thread is peak Royal Gransnet.
M&H had a procession – i.e. they walked with another person.
Meghan’s clothes were nice. Meghan was trying to stand out.
It was rude to cheer Boris, that’s rude to the Queen. People booed Boris because he was rude to the Queen. There wasn’t much booing for Boris.
Why did people cheer for M&H after what they did? Disrespect and Brass neck! Obviously they were paid to do that by the PR teams. Anyway, they were booed.
The dreadful Camilla. The lovely Camilla.
Poor Diana. Nasty Diana.
Kept a low profile did they? – misguided attempt at PR.
Have you heard yourselves? ?
BJ was there as the Prime Minister of the UK, as a representative of us Brits who could not be there , he is an important person in our country like him or not. I thought the whole service was wonderful as was yesterdays Trooping, we do these things so well.
Ugh Boris readng at Service..turns my stomach!!

So all of you criticising Megan and Harry for calling their little girl Lilibet know that the Queen wasn't consulted? Oh, I forgot you all have a direct personal communication line to the Queen.
I am glad to see Harry and Meghan and the children arrived here. When Lilibet’s name was announced Prince Harry said he had spoken to the Queen about it and asked for her permission. The BBC reported that he hadn’t spoken to the Queen about it and Harry threatened to sue them, as he does. Against their usual policy of silence Buckingham Palace confirmed that the BBC report was correct, it was big news at the time, nobody is making it up.
The BBC named a BP "source" as the origin of their information about the name. Of course there are lots of possibilities and how likely is it that any BP source would have details of every conversation H had with QE? Then there is always the likelihood that he talked to her and the 95year old forgot all about it!
I just looked at BBC UK and saw photos of the service. After seeing how long the aisle is in the cathedral, I understand how the Queen would opt out. There are most likely quite a few steps up to the entrance as well, and she has been using a cane.
At least for the concert etc., tomorrow, she can be whisked in with limited amount of walking.
I'm happy for you all to be celebrating. We have had no celebrations here at all. There was a nice piece on the news regarding her one of her favourite horses.
Burmese was the horse she rode for the trooping of the colours for 28 years, was retired and buried on the grounds of Windsor Castle. She (the mare) was bred in Canada as an RCMP horse and gifted to the Queen in 1969.
I admit to getting a little teary when I saw on the news the Queen coming out onto the balcony to see the crowds.
Someone's on the Jubilee spirit...
OK choochiface!
One of my GDs has my “ pet” name as a middle name. I’m really touched. Not sure why people, think it’s an insult. It means it’s carrying on till the next generation. No one “owns “a name.

I like Camilla. I think Charles will be a good king. I would have booed Johnson if I'd been there and salute all those who did.

Confusing thread. Harry and Megan had their own ‘procession’, presumably to signify the fact that Harry is the son of the Prince of Wales. Then they were seated appropriately in the second row with the non-working royals, with the working royals in front of them. I must admit I have not been a fan of Megan’s clothes in the past, but today I thought she looked good, and it fitted her properly! Harry looked a bit uneasy I thought, which is fairly understandable.
According to one poster M chose white as she “obviously “ wanted to stand out and should have blended in with the others in a pastel colour ! You couldn’t make it up.
I don’t think that Charles relishes the thought of being King either. He will be constantly compared by the British public to his mother and will probably be found wanting in anything he does. However, he will do his duty. I am pleased that he is already including William in decision making. That is a change for the better.
Never a thought of the heartache Diana caused Charles.

^Considering the reception the PM (cannot bring myself to write his name) had climbing the steps before entering ST Paul’s maybe it was for the better.^
What reception?
I can’t believed was the slightest bit bothered by the boos.
Booze has never been a problem for him up till now

“Should anyone be surprised that a crowd paying tribute to a Monarch’s commitment to public service should boo the man who has trashed the Nolan Principles of Honesty, Openness, Objectivity, Selflessness, Integrity, Acccountability and Leadership, which guide her and repel him?”

Well……when you put it like that…..maybe not. ?

calendargirl I think Prince Charles was ‘pensive’ because he must have been thinking about his marriage to Diana and the heartache he caused her. It’s only natural, unless, he has no heart at all.
I think he was more likely thinking of his dear Mama and how the day might not be too far off when he has to take on the responsibility of the Crown.
I really don’t think he relishes that thought at all.

Kate1949 my DS has met Camilla in a professional context and liked her very much. Not sure what to make of that. He said she was warm, friendly and approachable.
Calendargirl
Have to disagree about Camilla Kate1949.
I thought Prince Charles looked very pensive at times today, and honestly think that without Camilla’s love and support, he wouldn’t be as keen to take on the role of king now he’s in his 70’s.
Agree with you Calendar.
I read that they sounded loud as they were right next to the BBC recording apparatus.
His choice to move away from the RF is to be admired, he got out and is doing his own thing good luck to them both and their lovely babies if I had been unlucky enough to be born into the royal family I d escape too
BlueBelle I don't think you'll find anyone criticises their wish to move away and do their own thing, but it's the way that they did it, blindsiding the Queen, and then carping and bitching to Oprah and actually lying. I would be most upset if my grandson had done that. I'm sure you would too!
When a crowd of royalists boo a tory PM this tells you all you need to know about Johnson.
I would love to know whose idea it was to give that particular reading (some of my favourite verses in the Bible) to the PM, and why.
I absolutely understand the reasons for the crowd’s negative response to the PM, but I’m surprised that it came from this particular group of people and on a day that had honouring the Queen as it’s primary focus.
