Probably will get blasted but was sad that Prince Harry and Meghan were not seated together...this was a Service for all family/faiths and religions and Harry and Meghan were not together.

Fanny quiet ,shy ? Pushed her step mother down a flight of
stairs

When Diana was a teenager Andrew wasn't known as the Duke of York, was he? I don't remember him, pre his marriage, being known as the future DoY.

FannyCornforth Mon 06-Jun-22 08:09:40

Annie I’m just going by what her sisters have said.

I don’t think that Raine Spencer was the most likeable of women.
Not that she deserved to be pushed down the stairs of course.

I think that this incident (which I haven’t heard of before) just demonstrates what a troubled childhood Diana had.

I don’t think that we need to be #teamDiana or #teamCamilla anymore (if indeed we ever did).

I think that it’s unhelpful and cruel to judge people on what they did in their private lives 50 odd years ago.

Totally agree Fanny

Do those members of GN who are outraged at the behaviour of Charles and Camilla feel the same way about the multiple adultery of Johnson, his mistresses, unacknowledged children, abandonment of wife while she was being treated for cancer? Or is the venom saved for Camilla?

The difference is that we have some say whether we vote for Johnson. We have no choice with Charles and Camilla. Neither is Johnson the Defender of the Faith.

Anniebach Mon 06-Jun-22 15:15:11

Some have a say in Johnson being PM

BlueBelle Mon 06-Jun-22 15:37:53

Icanhandthemback Yes, kind enough to cheat on her husband, assist in the breakup of another person's marriage and put 2 lots of kids in an embarrassing position as they are growing up. What a role model as a Queen Consort*

….and of course Diane never had another loved never embarrassed the royal family with her affairs and dalliances she was embroiled in all sorts of inappropriate behaviour??

Camilla seems a very decent kind caring lady and you can see Charles and her adore each other Good luck to them

Anniebach Mon 06-Jun-22 16:21:19

Agree Bluebelle

icanhandthemback Mon 06-Jun-22 17:00:34

BlueBelle, as Diana is no longer alive and isn't going to be Queen Consort, it is immaterial what she did.

Joseanne Mon 06-Jun-22 17:23:29

Meghan and Harry were not conspicuous by their absence. Whoever meticulously planned their involvement got it right. (A bit of a shame though that they didn't get at least a back row seat at the concert).

Parsley3 Mon 06-Jun-22 17:31:21

Like it or lump it Charles will be king. He has been publicly ridiculed and humiliated at various times in his life but he will still be king. If he chooses not to be king, then the court of public opinion will find him guilty of not doing his duty. It is really quite cruel. Set the Royals free to live an ordinary life, I say.

Anniebach Mon 06-Jun-22 17:37:47

Megan or Harry will give an interview in America and explain
they chose not to attend the concert because they spent the evening with the Queen

Joseanne Mon 06-Jun-22 17:40:15

To be honest, I suspect The Queen retired to bed after the first few acts.

maddyone Mon 06-Jun-22 17:40:47

Harry and Meghan only appeared at the service of thanksgiving. I was surprised they weren’t at either the concert or the pageant. Maybe that’s what they wanted or maybe that’s what the Queen wanted.

Glorianny Mon 06-Jun-22 18:14:34

They have a three year old and a one year old in a strange country, perhaps they preferred to spend time with them.

Joseanne Mon 06-Jun-22 18:21:37

in a strange country the UK is hardly an unknown, unfamiliar country to them!

BlueSky Mon 06-Jun-22 18:47:49

Agree BlueBelle.

Anniebach Mon 06-Jun-22 18:57:54

They went to Canada for the Invictus Games

Glorianny Mon 06-Jun-22 19:23:10

^in a strange country^ the UK is hardly an unknown, unfamiliar country to them!

Well Lillibet has never been here before and I doubt if Archie remembers much about it.
When they went to Canada the children were in their own home not a strange place.

volver Mon 06-Jun-22 20:11:14

The Invictus Games were in the Netherlands this year.

Aveline Mon 06-Jun-22 21:28:22

Lots of children go on holiday with their parents. There would have been lots of staff around to look after them. They weren't exactly 'home alone'.

Callistemon21 Mon 06-Jun-22 21:36:10

I would have thought that Nanny came with them.

Calendargirl Mon 06-Jun-22 22:00:12

I should think it was decided by the powers-that-be how much the Sussexes were involved in the Jubilee celebrations, they would have no say in the matter.

Their absence at the concert and pageant was of no importance whatsoever.

icanhandthemback Tue 07-Jun-22 00:20:34

Aveline

They may not have been home alone but young children can be anxious when they are away from their home even if they have staff to look after them whereas at the Invictus Games, they were in their own home whilst their parents were away. Heaven forbid that these children should have any sympathy at all just because they have Harry and Meghan as parents.
