I thought they looked lovely today. Is their improved fashion sense down to their husband’s influence and not their mothers now?

JaneJudge Sat 04-Jun-22 15:14:47

I hold my husbands hand. I hadn't realised it was so controversial until I read the escape to the country threads and I actually live in the country

I wondered why Zara and Peter were relegated to the team bus when all the other grandchildren arrived in big cars. Mike apparently has been wearing his wife's hats in photos on Instagram.

Yes they post a photo of him in Zara’s hat after every Royal occasion, and they normally hold hands.

There are numerous photos of William & Catherine holding hands.

We really really need to move on from this nonsense gloves and holding hands.

Why? It’s quite interesting.

Re the hand holding. It’s the younger ones who hold hands, you never see Anne or Sophie grabbing their husband’s hands, or rubbing their back.

Well, maybe a touch of Voltarol at the end of a hard day’s riding, but that would be Tim rubbing Anne’s back I suppose.

Calendargirl Sat 04-Jun-22 14:47:08

The Princess Royal kept her gloves on as well.

And the Queen always has her gloves on.

Come on now. Here’s a picture of Beatrice and Eugenie both wearing no gloves at all, and holding their husbands’ hands. There are other pictures too, so it’s not just because they were climbing stairs. Are they beyond the pale altogether?

Allsorts

I thought the booing of Boris in extremely bad taste, as were the animal rights protestors lying down on the parade. As people we have to agree to differ and not spoil occasions to get a point across.
Thought Kate looked amazing. Pity M is glued to H hand in order to walk on those heels, it looks ridiculous. Most couples hold hands whilst out but not an occasion as yesterday.

It was quite inappropriate for H&M to hold hands in the cathedral. Not respectful. And if you notice, Kate and Camilla both observed the correct dress code for a lady and carried their gloves, whilst Meghan kept her gloves on.

I think all the ladies looked lovely. Camilla looked smart and appropriate as usual but I do wonder why her dresses always seem a little large around her waist? She seems quite shapeless but I thought she had quite a trim figure from all the horse riding. Am I completely wrong?

merlotgran Sat 04-Jun-22 13:49:49

She’s married to Freddie Windsor who is Prince and Princess Michael’s son.

merlotgran Sat 04-Jun-22 13:47:00

Sophie Windsor is an actress and Claudia Winkleman’s half sister.

SueDonim Sat 04-Jun-22 13:37:28

I’ve been on the same flight as Camilla up to Scotland. She wore a coat I wouldn’t have given a dog to sleep on. grin

Ive just seen Sophie Countess of Wessex in a photo today. She’s wearing an elastic-waisted dress. If it’s good enough for her, it’s good enough for me - I’ve always avoided them because the ‘old lady’ vibes but maybe I’m changing my mind. ✅

NotTooOld Sat 04-Jun-22 13:30:27

Who is Sophie Windsor? Is she Freddie Windsor's wife - Freddie as in son of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent? I'm confused.com.

Re Camilla, yeah, I reckon she's dreading it, FannyC. Not something you would want to take on as a retirement project - monarchy, that is, is it?

BlueBelle Sat 04-Jun-22 13:00:36

I just saw some bits on the news and I thought Meghan looked wonderful but I guess that wouldn’t fit most of your agendas of ‘dislike’ nor the daily Mail or Sun I think Camilla always looks very nice she never tries to get the limelight just classically good

I was overjoyed with the crowds booing of Johnson and he looked a bit shaken Its about time he realised there is reactions to his actions he’s not got a complete shelter screen around him even if he can manipulate most people
I though his wife’s hat might take off like a spinning top

Calendargirl Sat 04-Jun-22 12:46:12

Apparently,(back to the frocks), Beatrice and Sophie Windsor(Winkleman) wore the same dress, but in different colours.

Phew!!! What a relief! Imagine if they had turned up in the same dress.

shock

Blossoming Sat 04-Jun-22 12:35:49

There were some lovely outfits on display yesterday. I’m here for the frocks smile

Calendargirl Sat 04-Jun-22 12:33:01

Probably Camilla was thinking about the next stage of her Royal life, when Charles becomes King and she will be Camilla, Queen Consort. That is what I think she will be known as, not as ‘The Queen’, i.e. when the QM was Queen.

I bet she dreads the thought of the Coronation, but I think it will be more low key than the last one.

FannyCornforth Sat 04-Jun-22 11:54:38

Re Camilla.
I think that I’d be nervous too.
Her chosen life of country woman is going to change immeasurably very soon.

NotTooOld Sat 04-Jun-22 11:25:53

Camilla looked nervous, didn't she? I quite liked her outfit but she did not look very confident.

I thought Eugenie looked lovely, but if I’m honest I thought Beatrice’s dress was too old looking, not for a woman in her thirties.

And I totally agree

I though the outfit was perfect for the occasion. She looked lovely as did everyone else.

NotTooOld Sat 04-Jun-22 11:17:10

Back to Beatrice and Eugenie. I thought they looked great actually. Neither of them are skinny model types (thank goodness) but they do always look happy, which goes a long way.

Now to make myself unpopular - I thought Carrie Johnson looked very good in her red dress.

NotTooOld Sat 04-Jun-22 11:13:17

Sorry, volver. Point taken! I'm usually the fussiest of spellers, can't think what came over me.

Wasn't what Megan wore yesterday - the white coat-dress - very similar to what Kate wore the day before, or did my eyes deceive me?

Perhaps Catherine lent it to her?
