Will Charles take the throne.....or not?

I hope to God Camilla never becomes Queen. She’s caused no end of problems for the Royal family and I despise her and Charles for what they did to Diana. I went right off the royal family after Diana died. I think she was treated appallingly and I hope William becomes king and that Charles doesn’t.

Diana aside, what problems has Camilla caused for the RF?

Compared to, say, Fergie, Andrew, Harry, Meghan and Diana herself.

Did Charles and Anne swear at judges at horse shows when they were teenagers?

I know Anne told a photographer to, Naff Off!’ while she was competing but don’t remember them swearing at judges.

I always remember Zara being interviewed and referring to her ‘dodgy family’. I do like Zara.

I hope that the Queen hands over to Charlesand he ruled for about 5 years before handover to William to give him a little longer as daddy to his children

My opinion only: I feel sorry for him as he has waited so long, but for his and Camilla's happiness for what ever years he has left he would be better off letting William take over but be there to give advice if needed. The people are more likely to accept this. Not me though I would like to see him take the reigns I just don't think it will do the monarchy any good if he does. So many people are of the opinion that we don't need them anymore.

As has been very well confirmed by our wonderful Monarch, age is no barrier to performing your Royal duties and of course Charles will inherit the throne on the death of his beloved “Mummy”, it just has to be. Any other alternative is just unthinkable, where would it end?

I was about to say that lemsip then I realised Grany was talking about the people of Cornwall. I don’t live there or know anyone who does so have no idea what she means. I once watched a programme about the Duchy and it seemed he cared for his tenants.

Were there extensive public discussions with population as a whole, as well with the many public interest groups,

Monica The Republican Campaign group are very representative of the Cornish people as a whole. I asked my sister her opinion of Charles and the Duchy of Cornwall she still lives in Cornwall born and bred I've moved around a bit.

She says exactly as was said in the film

Saying That's a good question I know a lot of people CORNISH people are not happy as he takes a lot of money from the Duchy but gives nothing back, she said I feel that way too.

So you can see it's a very representative film of how Cornish people feel.

So you have to think we will have three old men Charles William and George can't we do better than Charles.

The Cornish people have spoken about their distrust of Charles.

Charles cash for honours police have quietly dropped the ivvestigation. The Royals and Russians like the conservative government and elite Russian money.

People should ask for a referendum after queen goes.
Why has Charles insisted on FOI the queen and Charles are in a public role being paid handsomely yet there is no scrutiny!??

As a matter of interest, have any of us ever read or heard it said that Charles himself has expressed a desire to not ‘take’ the throne when the time comes?

Or that William is keen to ‘jump’ the queue and take his father’s place?

M0nica I think you will find that every single post by Grany is part of the campaign by the group Republic and Gransnet is being used by them as a platform for their propaganda.
These are not just the views expressed by an individual.

I doubt that any other political movement would be allowed to use Gransnet in such a way and I don't know why this movement is allowed to do so.

I've suspected this for ages.

These are my views and I asked my sister who's Cornish and has lived there all her life what people think of Charles and the Duchy. Callistemon21 It is generally known that people don't like that Charles takes and gives nothing back.

If we are discussing Charles and whether he will take the throne you have to hear two sides of the issue that is what disscussion is about and I thought it would be appropriate in this instance to show the film about what people think of Charles. If you saw the film you could make your own mind up.

I am not a member of Republic but am a republican.

The BBC has been very sycophantic in their coverage of the Royals they are supposed to be unbiased in their reporting out of 200 300 gushing pieces only one about Republic and the growing number of people who views on monarchy are that they would like it abolished.

Now don't tell me what I can post on Gransnet we all have differing views. I don't agree with monarchy but don't tell you what you can and can't say.

Cornwall is a poor county by the way.

And Charles takes the money if someone dies without leaving a will in the county.

Charles will be king its hereditary that's how it works it won't go instead to William.

Let’s be accurate. The Duchy only takes an intestate estate if there are no heirs to claim it - in the same way that elsewhere in the country it goes to the Crown. If an heir turns up they can reclaim the money.
