I didn't see any of the Jubille celebrations, due to being in Australia and tied up with enjoying my family. I saw the Queen and Paddington, though, from a posted link, and thought that it was lovely. HM is a good sport!
I can't agree with the suggestion that Charles will immediately step down in favour of William. Apart from the 'duty' aspect of it, which I'm sure will follow the Queen's example, he knows what it would be like for William and Catherine, and their children.
Charles and Anne were very young when their mother unexpectedly inherited the throne. They must, inevitably, have suffered as a result of so much of the Queen's time being taken up with matters of state. I'm convinced that Charles wants William and Catherine to enjoy as much freedom as they can, for as long as possible.
