(295 Posts)Don’t know if it’s me or anyone else feels the same, seems that they didn’t have much success in coming back for the queens platinum jubilee, then suddenly they go back to USA, and now are showing photographs of Lillebet, .. in my opinion, a little too late. They hardly shown any of Archie since he was born, is it now to try and gain ‘brownie points’ and win the public over…. Don’t get me wrong whatever photos they show of the little ones are adorable, but to me a little too late…
Did you see the video GG13?
It wasn't a joke gesture. He threw a tantrum and was very disrespectful to his mother. It was significantly more than "larking around".
When I was four, I'd have got my bum slapped for behaving like that in public. But then I would never have done it as I knew how to behave, even when I was four. Maybe they don't slap children now. But I hope they did something to let him know that his behaviour was unacceptable, whether you are a prince or a pauper.
I'm off to look for the video.
Prince Louis is just 4, he was doing what must 4 year olds would do in that situation.
Thumbing the nose is a joke gesture
I thought we had moved on from he deserves a slap in the 21st Century.
He was included in his Great Granny’s celebrations as were other of her Great Grandchildren, which were also snapped larking around.

They did not receive the welcome they expected, and went off back to the US in the huff before the Platinum Jubilee celebrations were even over. I think their attitude while here has made matters worse with the rest of the family. Not what HM the Queen probably had in mind, but she tried.
Instead of spouting rubbish you need to check your facts. They went home to the US yesterday, the same day as everybody else from the Royal family no doubt returned to their normal lives.
Hear, Hear!!

????
Really? What was required of them?
Low profile? ✓
Stand back and be bit-part players? ✓
No camera crew? ✓
No photographs? ✓
No public statements? ✓
Left quietly with no fanfare? ✓
As far as I can see, they fulfilled requirements.
I'm pleased for QE. None of the ostracising and banning, as with the Duke and Duchess of Windsor which must have been very sad for the family. Which of course, QE will remember.
I think Harry realised the enormity of their actions when he found himself seated far away from the RF in the church.
He was right there with his cousins, who the last time I looked were part of his family that he seems to get on with.
One probably doesn't give a toss where one was sitting as one was there to celebrate one's Grannie's jubilee

One cannot always have one's cake and eat it.
I do not think lip reading should be allowed, everybody is entitled to some privacy, even a cute 4 year old.
My rear end would have been very sore if I had carried on as Louis did but one is not allowed to smack one's children now.

Well, you are entitled to your very wrong thoughts.

What makes people make up this sort of thing? Why do you enjoy thinking things like that?

THAT'S ALL JUST MADE UP, EITHER IN YOUR HEAD OR IN THE PRESS.

Sadly this kind of family feud goes on in many families. Shame really, I’m all for talking things over and kiss and make up.
Hopefully you weren’t used as a prop for public entertainment when you were four. I feel bad for him. Nothing about these celebrations appeared to take into account that he is four.
Well you obviously know more than I do Glorianny - I only know what I've read about him - he is a "friend of the family" and went with them to the Invictus games and also took their pregnancy photos and also released the image of little Lili - I didn't know he was only with them in a personal capacity.
Apologies.

Where do children pick up that awful nose thumbing thing?
It looks dreadful and I would not be happy if my C or GD did it.
The baby is beautiful.
That's the thing - he's only just 4 and someone must have shown him that; he didn't make it up himself!
An older sibling who's at school ?
Yah boo sucks!

They came back and kept a low profile. They were not (as has been alleged many times on these threads) accompanied by a Netflix film crew or photographer. I have no doubt it's a great disappointment to some that they behaved so well.
I do wish people would realise that Meghan had a career and was involved in charitable work and work to help women and girls way before she met Harry. It doesn't matter to me but they were accompanied by a photographer (as discussed in this thread).
No they weren't ! They invited Misan Harriman and his family to Lilibet's birthday party. He is a professional photographer, social activist and Chair of the Southbank Centre. He took photos of Lilibet and of both families. Like people do at birthday parties. www.misanharriman.com/#:~:text=Photographer%2C%20entrepreneur%20and%20social%20activist,cover%20of%20its%20September%20issue.

They've been criticised for not releasing photo's of their children, and are now being condemned because they did.
Let's face it, Harry and Meghan are forever damned and will be regardless of what they now do, or don't do. They will never be forgiven, and unfortunately certain sections of the media will continue to focus on them whenever the opportunity arises - so they won't be forgotten either. And on the scale of 'things that matter'... they really don't, do they?
I even wonder if the Queen herself spends as much time thinking about them as some of us seem to do. She's had many ups and downs in her family during her long life - and appears to have weathered them. And she does have other things to think about.
I don't see why they shouldn't issue one photo of their daughter on her first birthday. I thought that that's what they'd decided to do from Archie onwards - a occasional, sanctioned photo as opposed to journos constantly barraging them with cameras.
As to Louis thumbing his nose: we were taught Never, ever to do that as (Mum said) it meant something very vulgar in Sign Language. I don't know if that's true but it was definitely a step up from general sighing and huffing behaviour; one over-tired child taking it to the point of "Wait 'til I get you home", which may, of course, be what his mother is saying to him.
No more amusing than when his sister stuck her tongue out at reporters when she was his age-ish but not a hanging offence.

Well they were accompanied by a make-up artist from the States. Maybe I'll send mine on ahead to France next month!
Again… so what? Sorry
Following on the did they/didn't they?? wrangling on here Lucca. That's all.
Whoever said Harry scowled the whole visit is totally wrong. He was smiling a lot and in fact the only time he didn’t was just before the Thanksgiving Service started. He had been chatting to his cousins and looked as if he was composing himself for the service. Now William seemed to scowl pretty well the whole time, although smiled occasionally. I really am not surprised that Harry took Meghan away. Their treatment by the media is appalling. I am sure they will come back for Royal funerals and coronations, but that is it. Unless of course the whole of the Cambridge family disappear into the ether, in which case Harry will be his father’s heir

I am at heart (or brain) a Republican, but I can so appreciate the vibe of the weekend and the Queen’s call for “togetherness”
Which I think we could see examples of in communities and especially in London.
The weekend I thought showed a face of Britain that has been in short supply since 2012, but gives me hope that it might finally return.
Hate and division has no place in this.
Harry is bound to have some misgivings and realised what he has given up over the weekend. However whatever happens in the future he has two lovely children who are more important to him. Staying in the UK was never going to work for Meghan.
