Prince Louie going through THAT stage

Sorry but there's no way I would have put up with that behaviour.
Raising his hands to his mother's face was unbelievable. None of my children and lots of foster children over the years would have done any of that. Pulling faces, thumbing nose etc not acceptable at 4. At 2 yes but not at 4. Parents should have removed him to the nanny and sent him home. That's how he will learn acceptable behaviour by excluding him when he plays up.

Wow come on gransnet to get pulled up on spelling a name wrong. Honestly some of us come here for a bit if a chat not a rebuke. I think they should have had a back up plan if the kids got bored. It was a long day.

What a difference from his grandfather Charles when he attended his mother’s coronation aged 4! But of course that was 70 years ago, when parents were much stricter, not to mention Nannies

Gosh, pretty harsh criticising a wee toot of that age at such a lengthy event.

a) it was a very long time to sit, (ask the grown woman behind Prince Charles who slept on and off during the event) and b) he behaved like any wee boy his age would do - surely it is nice to see that he and his siblings are being brought up as very 'normal' children. It demonstrated so much love between them all from Kate's impressive way of dealing with issues, to Charlotte's wonderful 'big sister' intervening, to Grandpa looking very natural and happy to have him on his knee.

They are three delightful children - clearly down to William & Kate's desire for them to have as normal an upbringing as possible.

Interesting to see that its virtually a hanging offence to say that Louis was badly behaved, but on another thread its OK to say that a GGD of the Queen's looks like a Weeble.

Well he's only 4 for heaven's sake...think it was unrealistic to expect a child of that age would be happy to sit in the same place for hours on end. In all the circumstances I think he did pretty well under the circumstances.

How great to see a four year old acting like a four year old. It's worth realising that someone has taught him those various funny faces - my money is on Mike Tindall !!

At my brother’s wedding many years ago, my four-year-old walked up and down the pew muttering that he thought it was yucky being in church. My brother thought this very funny when told, because he quite agreed! They were only married in church to please his mother-in-law.

My 18-month-old had to be removed, because he was being noisy,

Normal for a child his age.
Poor mums are the most embarrassed.
Must be awful having the world watching.
Cameras need to be more sensitive as to where they are filming.

To be perfectly honest, I thought Prince George pulled some incredible faces, far worse than his younger sibling!

It made sense for them to be there, as some of it would have appealed to them - but they cannot be expected to behave as anything but children!

I wonder how these three children will feel about their very public exposure at such a young age when they are older. Many would view it as exploitation. Certainly it isn't living a normal life. Who one earth would ever have considered that event as being suitable or engaging for a four year old?

I wonder what the tantrums would have beeen like - from all three children - if they had tried to restrict it to grownups?

He was great - a bit of a spark! Good on him. He was asked to do something impossibly difficult for a child his age and he reacted normally. He looks fun!

But I was concerned about George - a lot of the time in these things the poor chap is showing nervous tics: making strange movements with his mouth, chewing the inside of his mouth etc. It must all be so stressful for him - it was good to see him singing along to Sweet Caroline.

The way George seemed to be sucking in his cheek made me think he may have a loose tooth.

I remember how you just can’t leave it alone.

A Warning to Children and particularly Princes.

Prince Louis was an awful child
He drove his ma and pa quite wild.
He simply couldn't sit quite still.
He'd not the temperament or will.
In vain did mum and Uncle Mike scold,
He didn't listen, would not be told.
Until Great Granny, wise as ever,
Took advice from quite another.
A visiting bear said "Face the fact,
He's just a boy, here's how to act.
He needs to play and jump and run.
Not sit so still,"said Paddington
And so Prince Louis was let off.
And grew into a proper toff.

The Tindall girls looked as though there is no love lost between them!

Mine are shining examples of perfection ?

Our youngest managed to escape from us and their elder siblings in the church during their Great Grandmas funeral.
Crawled army style under the pews to climb up and sit next to the organist.

We had a split second of panic, the organist turned round and nodded all was ok, they remained there for the final 10 minutes if the service. Far better than causing a commotion rescuing a 3 yr old and carrying them out in all probability crying and having a hissy fit to the detriment of all.

(For those that think a 3 yr old is far too young to go to a Funeral I agree, but we had exhausted all avenues of childcare possibilities and came up with zilch. Added to which my Granny loved her Great Grandchildren and it was a joyous occasion, a celebration of a long life well lived)

I sincerely hope not and depriving a child of food is cruelty.
