My first baby was a difficult one for his first 6 months or so, the second was an absolute breeze from day one. Who thought that was down to experience and good management? Who got brought back to earth with a bump when baby three arrived? ??

When I was a religious maniac my children were expected to sit through a church service every Sunday. Of course they would have been bored, but they were brought up not to behave selfishly as to discomfort other other people. I could trust them to behave in all social situations. Can you imagine Queen Elizabeth hitting her mother in the face?

Does anyone really think that Louis hasn't been sternly reprimanded for his behaviour on the balcony? You could see Catherine had a stern face and was telling him off, but for heaven's sake she wouldn't have wanted to become "the performance" knowing all eyes and cameras were looking.
I don't believe that anyone has a child who has never misbehaved in action or word. How did they ever learn the boundaries if they never transgressed them?

Having said that I have watched children kicking and biting their poor mother while being dragged into school, who are then sweetness and light once in the classroom!

You misunderstand Jaxie. Children in that sort of situation don't go hitting their teacher or the check out lady in the supermarket or the waiter in the restaurant. They lash out and hurt the ones they love the most and who love them best. That's the whole point.

Will Prince Louis attempt to hit his teacher in the face when he feels tired? If he carries on thinking he can disrespect adults like this he will be a poor advertisement for the royal family, like another prince in the news.

Bless him ... a child only as a very limited attention span ... was he naughty ? Many adults would have been bored just having to sit there ... all part of growing up ... no naughtier than other children his age ... At least bought a smile to people's faces ... me included ... world would be a better place if we all smiled more

Prince Louis isn't one of the children to whom Anniebach was referring and the reference to Prince George was from somebody defending his right to be a child.

If we're not allowed to saying anything at all about these children, or other Royal children, for fear somebody misinterprets what we say, its going to be a long 15 years.

I think that if you read the thread again you will see that there have been multiple posts criticising Prince Louis and his behaviour along with criticism of Prince George wearing a suit.

Lawdy, I’d hate to be such a curmudgeon that my entitlement came before tolerance in a difficult situation involving innocent children.

We were all young once and the more honest of us will admit to not always have been well behaved in public!

That day William and Kate had visited Wales, George and Charlotte with them, not Louie. They did the right thing taking
him to the concert , his parents, brother, sister, grandparents there and the extended family.

So it angered those with perfectly behaved 4 children, it annoys
some because George wore a suit to a football match , it’s possible he wanted to wear a suit like his daddy.

Criticise Megan and Harry and the fires of hell descend, but

Wales used to vary at half-term which made it difficult but now they seem to have co-ordinated, at least with border counties.

And to leave a baby screaming like that is worse, how could a new parent enjoy a meal?

An incredibly long thread apropos of Louis merely acting like a typical 4 year old boy. His situation was unique in that he had to be part of the ceremony and expecting him to behave in a more grown up and restrained manner was unreasonable. Catherine dealt with his display of understandable boredom well, I admit I found him amusing it retrospectively resonated and wouldn't have wanted to be Catherine. Under the circumstances of him being forced into a situation that wasn't conducive to his age group, I think it's unfair to criticise.

Having said that I also sympathise with diners for example, out for a really nice meal which is ruined by children making a noise and running riot. Parents should consider others when they take their offspring into an adult environment. We always told ours, when we did take them to restaurants, "this is a treat, don't ruin it for the other people here, or we won't bring you again" books and colouring books did the trick and kept them quiet, in that respect they never let us down.
