So nice to see you here, baubles. Good luck at the hospital. Nice that you have been allocated a nurse, sadly DH doesn’t have that luxury despite my many requests.
I’ve already shopped, done three loads of washing, dried two in the dryer, emptied the dishwasher and still my chaps are sleeping peacefully! Gets me rather annoyed…

Tomorrow, will be the 60th anniversary Mass for the school I taught in. I shall light a fair number Baubles and offer up the Mass for you.

PS, we actually did run out of candles, but it wasn't the votive ones. The Bishop is coming tomorrow and the chief sacristan went on holiday and forgot to inform the PP, that he had used the last of altar candles. W had to be very inventive! ?

It’s foul here, Grey wet and cold in Melbourne. No wonder so many of our friends have headed North to Queensland. Talking f Mass, I am in a lovely online prayer group, just 9 of us and I can say many of our prayers do come true, amazing.

I actually was on the loo when a call came from private number. I knew it was the GP calling so I answered it. Thankfully it wasn't video.
Lots going on here isn't there. I think we GNers keep all the tradesmen in work all year.
I wish the electrician could finish my cooker. There is some new wiring needed in the house apparently but I bought it new in February and have had to manage without one ever since this time last year when my Rayburn was condemned. My friends all think he is having me on.

Good morning from a newbie on the NE coast. It's a bit dull and damp here but my son is visiting for the first time since I moved back up here. We ARE going to the beach!

This will be the start of my touristing jaunts. The area has changed vastly in the last 40 years, I have a lot to catch up on.

Good morning from a bright, but increasingly cloudy Black Country.

Managed to sit out in the garden at lunch time yesterday as it was lovely and sunny.

Today I am off to Mums, but will go on the bus via Merry Hill (Merry Hell as it is known here) to buy a few things for our holiday next week. Then back on bus to Wolverhampton. Trying to use the car less at the moment. Bus is literally 2 minutes walk from our house.

Morning from rainy Lanark, so different from last week!
However I am home with the happiest of memories of a very special family week in the sun and I’ll try to add a picture of me doing something I haven’t done for many years, DD was having ‘none of my nonsense’!

When I read the comments about you being back baubles, I flipped back to yesterday, I had not had time to read, and was delighted to see your post. May every day bring some improvement.?

Our flight home was uneventful thankfully but there were quite a few cancellations on the board, what an awful way to end a holiday.

Good morning from a grey, damp Essex by the sea.

A walk to the Post Office this morning followed by completing my packing for my few days at DD1.

I love seeing my daughter and granddaughters but hate the journey, train, two tubes and another train. I try and pack lightly but even a small suitcase becomes heavy after a time.

My eldest granddaughter had braces fitted to her teeth yesterday, a lovely shade of blue. She has to wear them for two years and has been told no sweets. Hopefully it will be worth the sacrifice when they are removed.

Grammaretto the picnic will definitely go ahead as it’s in memory of our friend who was killed last year, it would have been her Birthday today.

There are about 15 of us going, never mind….we will have to park the cars close together.

Good morning Mick and everyone from a wet Carlisle where it does seem to be brightening up now. So possibly a spot of gardening later after necessary housework and admin. As soon as I'd sorted the new fuel tariff out, a missive arrived from the car insurance company so that's another thing to check out. When I have better things to do like read a book!

Morning from Kew. Son and his partner should be back from Venice today. They have booked two lots of return tickets, one lot to Gatwick, the other to Stanstead. Their car is parked at Gatwick. Well, the Gatwick tickets were cancelled last night! All being well they will fly into Stanstead, son will set off for Gatwick for the car and his partner will come home. My granddaughter is so looking forward to seeing her parents again. I told them if they can’t get back today I can stay. Otherwise, depending on my migraine situation, I may go up to the V&A after dropping granddaughter at school and calling into the chemist to see about getting some more sumatriptan as I’m running short.??? to lots of you.

After dropping granddaughter off at school I popped into a chemist in Kew. I showed the pharmacist a copy of my prescription and she was happy to give me an emergency prescription for sumatriptan, which I had to pay for. Even though I’m over 60 emergency prescriptions must be paid for! I could have bought two tablets over the counter for £8! The prescription was over £9 for six tablets.

Good morning to all. It's a grey day on the Angus coast, just as it seems to be everywhere. We have rain forecast for later.
Taking my friend out for our weekly drive this afternoon. I think we'll go 'up country' a bit for a change where I know a lovely little coffee and gift shop which I haven't visited since Covid disrupted all our lives.
Oh dear, a young thrush has just killed itself flying into my garden room window. So sad. I left it for a while hoping it was just dazed, but I'm afraid not. Such a waste of a beautiful song bird.
It was a glorious day here yesterday and I spent the afternoon sitting by the pond reading. The goldfish were in fine fettle, chasing around the pond and even leaping out of the water on occasion. It would appear to be their breeding season again! Most of the time they just swim languorously around, peacefully enjoying the sun, but yesterday they put on quite a show. Who knew fish in a pond could be so fascinating!

Good morning from a wet Durham. I have DD2s dogs here as they are away - flight from Newcastle 3 hours delayed, but at least they got away. Older dog has an ‘upset tummy’ so I’ll leave that to your imagination! ??he had to go out 3 times through the night.
Taking a friend to a hospital appointment this afternoon, then checking DD2’s house for post/parcels later.
The mysteries of the NHS are a steep learning curve gM some times great, others not so! ?.

Good morning Mick and all. It’s been raining heavily in my corner of Lancashire but is clearing up now, currently 14°C.

Not much on the agenda for today. Mr. B has done the shopping and he’s now gone to the dentist as he has chipped a tooth. I will see to the shopping when I’ve drunk my tea and come back and read the thread later. I had a very disturbed night so will just get on with a few things and see how it goes.

Good morning to all. Freedom day for me today, after 7 weeks the pins are being removed after my foot op - I’ll be able to walk, drive, not go upstairs on,y bottom....?

Good morning from my hairdressers in an overcast Northampton. Just sitting waiting for my colour to take. I have come equipped with raincoat and umbrella, and if the worst comes to the worst I can get the bus home, just two stops! Need to pop into the paper shop next door to pay my bill before I go home.

Enjoyed my film yesterday, a documentary about the Queen. At the bus stop on the way home I met an ex-pupil who reminded me I had taught him 25 years ago; he also reminded me that I had taught his elder brother back in the 1970s! The brother is now 53, he was 6 when in my class!

Off to the Well-being Cafe with my knitting this afternoon if it stays fine.

Had to come back to say how lovely it is to see Baubles here again.

Having rushed around like a blue tailed fly, the builder of course didn’t arrive this morning. DH phoned at 10 and was told that they’d decided that as there was so much to do, (should have come back five years ago! ) that they needed a full day. I don’t know if they would ever have got round to mentioning it to us or just turned up out of the blue one day!

Fortunately Marydoll you made me laugh. I love how we can gang up with our daughters although DH tends to think important secrets are being kept from him when he would be bored stiff. The antics at the church reminded me of when we were discussing celibacy with our PP and he said that he didn’t think that he could cope with a parish and a wife. Indeed why should he need to when the Church ladies do such a good job of keeping everything running smoothly.

Good morning Mick and all from a dull northwest coast.
Quiet day today after singing yesterday afternoon then going on for drinks locally. Once again, after two wines on a half empty stomach, I can feel the effects, not drinking these days.
I felt so uplifted I put Motown and other pop classics on when I returned home for some exercise and danced round the sitting room until I was worn out. Now my gammy shoulder is complaining.
So will sadly miss the lunchtime concert and do some ‘admin’ as people say here. Wish I had more stamina…
