Virtual cruise Lyon to Avignon and Arles

ixion Mon 20-Jun-22 20:21:03

So tired, tired of waiting
Tired of waiting for you

I don't hang around once I get going.
Now, where's the bar?

Doodle Mon 20-Jun-22 20:31:40

Crumbs Callistemon I don’t know what * Maw* has done to (with) him but Colin has aged considerably. ?

Callistemon21 Mon 20-Jun-22 20:42:21

???

I wore him out

CaravanSerai Mon 20-Jun-22 20:54:46

Some of us take this seriously, you know.

Colin likes a glass of wine and to keep his hat on.

CaravanSerai Mon 20-Jun-22 20:57:57

As I was saying ...

Colin likes a glass of wine and to keep his hat on.

CaravanSerai Mon 20-Jun-22 21:01:01

Why does the site do this? The picture doesn't appear first time then, when you post it a second time, the first one does appear.

Anyway, two Colins for the price of one.

MawtheMerrier Mon 20-Jun-22 21:02:05

Seriously good!
Wow! ??

CaravanSerai Mon 20-Jun-22 21:05:35

Thank you, but it's all smoke and mirrors. A five minute cheat with Photoshop!

Germanshepherdsmum Mon 20-Jun-22 21:15:22

I like the size of the glass!

MawtheMerrier Mon 20-Jun-22 21:18:46

But he’s still got all his clothes on ☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️

Germanshepherdsmum Mon 20-Jun-22 21:28:59

Imagination is everything …

Doodle Mon 20-Jun-22 21:41:05

You’d need a good imagination to see through all of that GSM ?

Germanshepherdsmum Mon 20-Jun-22 21:53:30

Oh, I have Doodle, I have!?

CaravanSerai Mon 20-Jun-22 22:03:41

You forget I had already seen Mr Darcy earlier today in his wet shirt. A bit of decorum and respect for Cezanne please.

Callistemon21 Mon 20-Jun-22 22:05:39

I like his other shirt better
Just saying .....

Germanshepherdsmum Mon 20-Jun-22 22:28:35

I’m getting the vapours. You mean the white one? Wet?? I need a large ? or two. He’s giving us a very long session isn’t he? ?

CaravanSerai Mon 20-Jun-22 22:28:49

Are we ready to move on to Marseille tomorrow?

Did you know that pétanque is very popular there? No, neither did I. Like Morris dancing, it has its own terminology demonstrated in this bit of purple prose:

Like any self-respecting Marseille heritage, the metaphor is very present in petanque. The eyes are as much glued towards the winner that gets 13 points, as on the one who does not score any point during a game. In the current language, we say he is “Fanny*”. Every bowling alley, whatever its size, wherever it is in the city, has a small statue of a more or less plump lady presenting her sweet bottom. Kissing her buttocks is a tradition that must be respected by those who have seen their score remain at zero. Marcel Pagnol ideally transcribed the scene in his book “Le temps des amours”.

Whether you keep playing “carreau*” over “carreau*” or have to “baiser Fanny” petanque is above all a moment of joy where meeting and living together is more important than the result.

I'm not sure if I want to see this or not. shock

MawtheMerrier Mon 20-Jun-22 22:32:12

Sounds like a load of spherical objects to me! Baiser Fanny indeed ! blushblush

Germanshepherdsmum Mon 20-Jun-22 22:32:35

Ooer. Not sure I want to kiss Fanny’s derrière. Now Colin, well that’s something else…

CaravanSerai Mon 20-Jun-22 22:38:57

I think Marseille might be a dangerous place to bend down to tie a shoelace. I might prefer a trip to les calanques.

ixion Mon 20-Jun-22 22:53:23

Oh, but we haven't done the afternoon in Musée Gransnet yet! 12md opening, Granny Passes to the ready.
I thought we might have a lie-in and a leisurely brekkie first, then after dinner unwind a bit with our Transformation Challenge catwalk parade and an early night to recover and say any fond farewells that may be necessary?
Sailing the next day?

Or is that too organised?
Happy to be fluid

Doodle Mon 20-Jun-22 23:00:50

Fluid suits me ixion . One glass or two ?. Cheers.

ixion Mon 20-Jun-22 23:02:29

?+??

CaravanSerai Mon 20-Jun-22 23:07:14

Sorry ixion I thought that was what people has been virtually doing today - visiting the Granet. I'm not on the boat. I've been on dry land since we arrived in Aix. Also happy to go with the flow.

ixion Mon 20-Jun-22 23:17:13

Well, if they were, CS, they must have shinned up over the walls and avoided the CCTV and les chiens sauvages.

I was looking forward, with my classical chapeau on, to savouring the statues as well as the pictures?

But if you all want to sail away, happy to do so.
