Urms my nest door neighbour, who DS' MIL went to a the wedding of an oligarch's daughter in Azerbaijan. Her best friend's son was getting married to the daughter.
She said, she had never seen such wealth! The wedding went on for days!

Good Morning everyone, it’s a cooler dull day here so far , yesterday we got loads of bits and pieces done in the garden, including repotting houseplants . Why do they look so dusty no when they looked perfectly respectable in situ ???
Nothing planned for today , I had finally plucked up courage to go to Mass last Sunday , only to hear the Chapel is closed from the next day for renovations, so back to online worship today
I did light a lot of candles , but will do them virtually today

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny but still rather windy Carlisle. I hope that phone is sorted today Mick, that's an annoyance for you.
I feel like I shall be spending the whole day packing but it's only a small suitcase! The problem is, having been banned from heavy lifting, I am trying to travel light. That's not me! I always feel I have to travel with backups for everything, in case.... You would not think I'm only travelling to civilised Surrey.
Getting breakfast was amusing, watching bird wars in the garden. The young blackbirds were facing up to each other over food and access to the bird bath and chasing the poor sparrows away from it all. Until an evil cat came along.

It seems to be one step forward and two steps back for you and your DH grandMattie. I'm very much wishing you both better days ahead.

Good morning from sunshine in S Hants. Bedding in the washing, should dry easily, garden watering later, chicken with sweet potato curry to be made for dinner.

Me again. I left for church before DH woke up. He seems in much better spirits this morning. We got him downstairs and he’s enjoying a pot of tea. It took its time, but I think the syringe driver is working.
The hospice has been exceptionally helpful - but it’s the weekend, all the staff, except the minimum, is off. The talk is now to instal the driver before the chemotherapy next time. But we’ll talk things over with the oncologist on Friday at DH’s face to face appointment.

Good morning from Durham. A bright, sunny day on the cards.
DD2’s dogs will be going home today- love them to bits, but I’ll be glad to see them go, as they’ve been here 2+ weeks. They’re extra work in the house and garden, although they do get me out for a walk. At least I can get the floors steamed, before next time.
gM I feel for you - my experience was like the blind leading the blind at first, but with the syringe driver in you’ll get daily visits from a nurse to refill it - so you’ll be on the radar so to speak.

Good morning all from a mixed weather of clouds, sunshine and strong winds. Our poor garden is really taking a battering but hopefully everything I have securely staked will survive.

I was really moved reading all the messages of kindness and support yesterday. It goes a long way when hearing from those of you who have been in this situation to those who simply send their kind support. A heartfelt thank you.

Yesterdays reunion with DD2 and SiL who we haven’t seen since pre covid was a mix of tears of joy and sadness for our family but also such a comfort to DH and I having both our girls here. Whatever Wednesdays results reveal, we will all deal with it together.

I despair when I read what you and your DH are going through GM and send you both love and strength to help you through. ❤️

Good morning Mick and all. It was sunny here in the Angus coast at the back of 6, but that's gone now.
Yesterday was such an amazing day for DGD1 who so enjoyed dancing in the show up in Findhorn. DD sent many photos and a couple of videos so I could see that our dancer not only danced beautifully (well, I would say that, wouldn't I!) but enjoyed every minute of it too. She didn't seem at all nervous either. Next week she will be in Dundee, where I shall be the proudest Gran in the city.
Nothing else happened yesterday - or if it did I don't remember! Today will also be quiet - and thank goodness that string wind has died back to a stiff breeze.
I am now going to read all the posts. Sending loving thoughts to all those going through the hardest of times just now x

Good morning everyone from a sunny ? but windy Northampton. A bit of pottering this morning, and then out to see the new Top Gun film this afternoon. Then a half-rack of lamb awaits for my dinner.

Shopping yesterday to lay in provisions for the DGDs' visit tomorrow. They are coming from school for their dinner and to stay overnight as their mum and dad are going to a show/gig in London. I managed to get the special sausages and hot dog buns that they like, and I shall make chocolate brownies tomorrow afternoon.

I also by chance(!) called into Next yesterday and bought yet another t-shirt - in mitigation m'lud, I went through my wardrobe and found three t-shirts to donate to the charity shop. There may be more....

Yesterday was a lazy day of doing not very much. Today I’m hoping to get out for a walk after our usual Sunday brunch of bacon rolls.

Marydoll I would be tempted to bang pans together outside their bedroom door to ‘help’ their hangover heads. I hope you can get some peace and quiet today.

Morning from S Lanarkshire where the rain has just arrived: again, honestly it’s like autumn here at the moment.

Yesterday afternoon I collected one of our group and we went to pay our respects to another friend whose beloved Downs Syndrome son died a couple of days ago at the age of 42. They are very traditional and their boy’s coffin was open and surrounded by his family. It felt a privilege to be there.

Going to DD2 and family for a late lunch and a ‘sleep over’ later but lots of tidying to do first. I went to a vigil mass last night and remembered all on here.

Odd night last night, was due to have an evening out with close singer friend but suddenly couldn’t contact her and didn’t know timings etc. It turned out her phone had been stolen and her 94 year old mother hospitalised with a fall. So stayed in and spent far too much time on YouTube…
Due out tonight for meal with another friend and not sure what to wear, I’m not feeling summery even though it’s sunny.

Good morning everyone from a hot and sunny, gusty Algarve.My skin is reacting badly to the sun and every sunblock I’ve been able to use before so today I’m definitely staying in.

Good morning from the Boggy Brae in Argyll. On my early welly wander I counted 70 Northern Marsh Orchids in flower (and more not yet in flower) in the parts I haven't mown since the late winter/early spring. Alongside them are many other wild flowers in flower or promising to be later.

There are a lot of people with hard struggles on here so I'm sending some flowery lawn love.

I’m doing a bit of online shopping today, looking for comfortable clothes to wear around the house. I’m having to put all my beloved jeans to the back of the wardrope, for now anyway.
