B****y hell! If you’re going to have one, have a big ‘un!
61 lb!!!
Afternoon Mick, Annie and all.
It takes me so long to get going in the morning these days. Then I had a dizzy spell after bending down to retrieve something.
Finally I have made Mamade marmalade that needed doing as we are down to our last jar.
DH is out for lunch with his friends and so I am at a loss as to what to eat. Maybe nothing as I'm not hungry. I have just had a lovely cup of fresh mint tea, and there is more, so I may have another.
DGS said he is sending something by post for DH birthday, and it is supposed to arrive today. I hope it arrives whilst he is out, then I can hide it for a couple of days.
BlueBalou, our decorator is coming later this afternoon, to look at what we want doing. The whole house really. Now, do we go for the same colour walls throughout, or different shades throughout? Answers on a post card please. It will be an upheaval, as they like to start so early.
Best of good wishes to all with troubles.
Have a good day one and all.
Sorry about that Urms. I have now released him back. ?
B****y hell! If you’re going to have one, have a big ‘un!
That’s some goldfish!

Pitt please send your DH, as one angler to another, my heartiest congratulations, and wish him “Tight Lines”!
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast. I have one of those German style cottage barometers and the little lady is definitely out and the chap with the brolly inside.
Nice meal with close friend in city last night, he lives 50 miles away, so we meet halfway. In by train opposite a woman the spit of Les Dawson in drag? Even with the same mannerisms.
It was still a bit chilly though. We parted early, going into Sainsburys in the station as I needed a loaf of bread, a romantic end to the evening lol.
Hope you have a good sleep tonight Blossoming (had terrible cramp, eased with Magnesium oil recommended by a gransnetter here) and thoughts to Kalu and grandmattie and all with worries.
Good morning Mick and all. It’s overcast and grey in my corner of Lancashire, currently 15°C.
I slept fitfully, plagued by a horrible dream, and feel washed out this morning. It’s tempting to stay in bed but I have things I must do.
Good to hear from you Scentia.
Pleased yesterday was better GrandMattie.
What a fright that must have beèn Glammagran, and how careless of that cafe. Lucky it wasn’t a lot worse.
Hope you have an easy day Shazza.
A warm welcome to any new posters I may have missed.
My thoughts are with those going through difficult times, I hope today is a good one for us all ?.
Good morning from another sunny day in West Sussex. It was windy yesterday but at least that means it’s not too hot. It may seem ungrateful Marydoll, Baubles and other Scots grans with damp and cool days, but when the temperature goes up and humidity increases it’s too hot to do anything. I may feel differently when we are in East Lothian for 3 weeks in July!
DGS (in East Lothian) got a gold medal in his rowing competition yesterday and was very happy. He is dyslexic and is convinced he is ‘stupid’ so success at something means a lot. He will now take part in the regional heat which will be in Glasgow.
I have a fridge full of strawberries from the allotment. Not planted by us so I don’t know what variety but they are very squishy and need eating immediately or they are only fit for jam. We are still eating jam from last year and I even found some jars from 2020 at the back of the shelf, so I don’t know what I will do with it all. I may purée and freeze some.
Good luck with your decorating BlueBalou. We are having flooring laid through living room, hall and cloakroom in August. I am in process of emptying 3 Billy bookcases of books, CDs, DVDs & DHs model boats. Also dresser and sideboard with dishes. We have too much stuff ?
Glad to hear the Grandmatties are having some respite.
Baubles, it’s good to see you posting but I’m sure your road to recovery is challenging. I hope you get some sunshine and warmth soon to cheer up your view.
Scentia I hope your meeting goes well. I do admire people who take on these responsibilities - anything involving meetings is one of my nightmares. Our communities would go to pot if everyone was like me.
Those not mentioned are still thought of. There’s something very satisfying about sharing the everyday doings of such a wide variety of people.
The strawberries are calling. Have a good day.
Morning Gwenisgreat in Dublin-hope your trip goes well. It seems a long time since we met up in your home town while we were visiting DD2.
I feel (and ?) for all those going through the mill.
GM when my DH was poorly for several months early in the year-thankfully stable at the mo-I used to send bulletins when there was any news-first recipients were both DDs, then sisters then close friends who would pass it on as necessary. It saved repeating myself endlessly although it caused a smile when I was SO tired I would send initial message about Dad onto everyone else-they knew who I meant!
What a frightening experience for your DD Glammagran Thankfully she had a supply of anti histamines with her otherwise, it doesn’t bear thinking of what could have gone seriously wrong. Your poor DD will be shaken still after such an experience.
Good morning all from Glasgow where we are having such mixed weather forecast again for today. Thankfully the strong winds and heavy rain have abated and I can potter about in the garden. I too plan to visit a garden centre hopefully today in search of the specific shade of red geraniums and mix of petunias I like to have in pots dotted around the garden. I am a bit later filling pots this year but fingers crossed such plants are still available, failing that, it’s pot luck.
Such a busy household now that DD2 and SiL have arrived. Yesterday, all seven of us for lunch. Poor DH and SiL occasionally taking a back seat as five females were chatting non stop.
What a turn our lives have taken indeed since our carefree stroll laughing and chatting as we walked down Buchanan Street Baubles. I wish you well with a virtual cuddle as you recover.
My best wishes to all for a pleasant day and a gentle cuddle for those with illness and struggles to cope with.
Good morning all from a sunny W Kent. Looks like another pottering day as DH getting ready for hospital visit tomorrow. Very early start and a bit of a drive so I am hoping I can stay with him and use the hospital cafe, if its open, otherwise a day sitting in the car! I am not keen to keep driving round the M25.
Good wishes to all.
Good morning from the Scottish Borders. Cold and damp today.
I'm going into work. I have begun a voluntary job and today will be on my own for the first time. It's only Monday mornings so far.
After a wonderful day at Potfest at Scone Palace yesterday I arrived at the weekly community cinema to watch Belfast to discover that the DP of one our regulars had been found dead so everyone was subdued and shocked.
Thankfully her DS is staying with her now.
Thoughts are with gM, Baubles the Kalus and Harrigran
and all with troubled hearts.
Enjoy your trip south Ekwa I’ll wave ??.
Good morning Mick and everyone from grey Carlisle.
I’ve been dashing around doing a few vital jobs before my trip south shortly. I finally got a taxi arranged, they are almost impossible to get before 10am in term time so I never book a really early train.
I had a poor nights sleep, having dropped off immediately, I woke soon after 1am and finally got to sleep around four-ish. More caffeine is required before I get on the road.
Have the best possible day, everyone.
Good morning from a windy NE, was noisy during the night.
I am tired this morning as I couldn't settle, it must have been 3am before I fell asleep.
SIL spent all afternoon and evening with me and had a look at the kitchen tap which is dripping. Taps no longer just need a washer, he has had to source the fiddly inserts.
DS was sending me messages all evening about restaurants, it is DIL's 50th birthday next month and he is trying to arrange a family lunch, I am at a loss as to why he wants to arrange it in my town centre when they live 45 minutes drive from me.
I am supposed to be doing the laundry but I don't think I can be bothered today.
Thoughts are with poorly people and their carers.
Have a lovely holiday NannyJan Lindos is beautiful.
Good morning from cloudy Leicestershire.
Coffee at the golf club this morning with the old gang.
Gingster my DH is the same and I too blame the statins. He is seeing a physio next week as he wont see the doctor.
Good morning from sunny Colchester. The patio doors are open and the washing machine is on.
I too am alone this week Scentia, it feels weird not to have someone else to consider and tidy up after!
DH has caught a "personal best" carp and is very happy in France.
We considered having the house decorated all in one go Bluebalou but decided that room by room meant less upheaval. I am doing the skirtings and architraves myself and did a bit more yesterday while the tennis was on in the background.
Out to lunch with a couple of friends today, once I've read Marydoll's novella
Love to all ?x
Good morning everyone.
DH has gone of to play in a charity golf match so I think I will take myself to the cinema to see the Downton film. It’s been out a while so I don’t expect there will be many people there.
I may go early and have a light lunch and find somewhere to do some sketching. Nice to have a day all to myself occasionally.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Good morning all from bright Dublin
Haven’t looked out to see the weather yet, but it promises to be dry - not particularly warm! Yesterday was quite chilly with a few spots of rain. We went on the tour bus and plan to visit the Guinness place today. Not sure what else we’ll do yet.
Glad to hear yesterday was better for you GrandMattie hope today is good too.
Do you have to go far Mick for EE?’
Have the best day possible folks
