I am like a lost soul with DH snd DD and family all on holiday. DS came up visit on Sunday, I think he is worried I may get lonely ?
I have a zoom meeting this evening about our Market Hall. Never been to a focus meeting before, now I am chairman of our parish council I am sure there will be more.
I may need a nap in my garden do I look alive on zoom?
I do hope you all had a good weekend and can find something to make you smile today❤️?

Good morning from South Lanarkshire. I haven’t looked out of the window yet so the weather could be doing anything but it’s probably raining or just about to.

That’s a super early start Scentia!

More of the same for me today - doing very, very little.

I hope everyone has the best day possible. A virtual hug to all those who are struggling with pain or worry.

grandMattie Mon 13-Jun-22 06:47:53

Good morning from a sunny E Kent. I’ve got tons of bedding, etc., to dry, so the weather is perfect!
Much better day, yesterday, though both of us were very tired. DH managed a teeny lunch and equally small dinner, but it stayed down and he ate with pleasure.
The very sweet district nurse who’d fitted the driver came and reset it. I showed her an incomprehensible note we’d received from the hospital (with no explanation). She said it was a request for a blood test and that the nurse who came to recharge the driver would do it, no problem. Lovely girl!
DH had a good night and asked for a cup of hot chocolate when I got up an hour ago!
I’ve written to the hospice with a resume of the weekend’s shenanigans and also to his many friends updating them.
I’ve got a doctor’s appointment this morning and a hospital one this afternoon, as well as the cleaner and possibly the gardener, so busy day!
Carpe diem, dear friends. I hope today is kind to you all. ????

monk08 Mon 13-Jun-22 06:48:50

Good morning all from the Black country bit cloudy at the moment.
For whatever reason had a restless night waking up every hour.
DS is 40 today so we are spending the day with him and Dil. We are going to our nearest Mcarthur Glen outlet will treat him, wallet will certainly be lighter have been shopping before with him. We will then have lunch somewhere.
Best wishes to anyone celebrating and virtual hugs where needed.
Have the best day you can everyone and may you all find some ?.

Good morning to the early birds from sunny Torbay.

I admire your energy, Scentia! Back in the day, I would often rise early to mark the books which had defeated me the previous evening! No doubt the staff at the EE shop will sort out your phone, Mick but it’s a nuisance to have to make a special journey.

Our church Summer Fayre on the green on Saturday raised £2,300! Quite a surprise as it wasn’t busy, but there was a steady flow of (generous!) customers!

Back to my “Move It Or Lose It Class” today after a month's absence, due to the cruise and medical appointments. I need the exercise!!

I hope this will be a more settled week for those with problems, especially grandMattie. Glad to just read of your better day yesterday. ?????

Sar53 Mon 13-Jun-22 06:50:22

Good morning from a cloudy but not cold Leamington.
DD1, SIL and two eldest granddaughters arrived home yesterday afternoon after seeing Ed Sheeran the night before. They had a great time but were all very tired after a very late night.
Today DD1 and I are off to the Cotswolds for a day out and lunch. We both have a birthday next week so this is our treat as we won't see each other on the actual days.
Thinking of all those with worries or illness and hoping that today will be a better day.
Have a marvellous Monday everyone, much love xxx

Beechnut Mon 13-Jun-22 06:57:26

Good Morning everyone from the sunny Cotswolds.
Our planned garden trip yesterday did not happen. On arriving at Beechnutella’s I found her to be trying to unblock a drain ?she was successful in the end. We then went out for a late lunch and a look around a shop filled with lovely things.
Her fella cooked us a roast dinner and we watched a film.

They will be off to Ibiza later today and on my way home I may call into a garden centre.

Have a good day all especially those who need one ??

Greyduster Mon 13-Jun-22 06:59:02

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Hope the store visit will sort out your phone asap Mick. The sun is out in South Yorkshire but I’m getting fed up of the constant strong breeze. I just wish it would calm down a bit. I need a couple of photo frames so it’s an excuse to go out to the local shopping mall. I shall go on the bus later. I’m also going to order a green bin from the council, so that I don’t have to worry about doing tip runs with garden waste. It’s about fifty pounds a year but I think (I hope) it will be worth it. Other than that, a quiet day of domestic this and that!
Have the best day you can folks, and my thoughts with those who are struggling.

kittylester Mon 13-Jun-22 07:15:42

Good morning all from a bright sunny North Leicestershire.

Busy day today as I have a singing lesson at 9.30 and plan a visit to the village Market and the garden centre on the way home. Hairdresser and a few bits and bobs while I am in town.

DH has drives all day so he has first dibs on the big car and I am left with the 'mistake' which I hate driving.

Sending love and support to all with worries.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 13-Jun-22 07:18:11

Morning all

Blue sky and sunny here in S E Essex.

I am off to the gym first thing, then we have a coffee and good old natter. This afternoon I have some bits and bibs to sort out on my laptop.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Jaxjacky Mon 13-Jun-22 07:18:57

Morning from blue skies and sun in S Hants. Better news gMattie good.
M&S trip later to pick up some bits ordered online, housework and chasing a prescription.
Enjoy your day if you can ??

BlueBalou Mon 13-Jun-22 07:26:02

Good morning from a beautifully sunny Wiltshire ☀️
We’re home from holiday after a rather eventful few days necessitating a quick dash across Wales and some extra dog walking. All’s well there now.
Loads of washing to be done then I need to focus on preparing for the carpenter coming next week to build fitted wardrobes and the decorator who’s coming to paint the whole house! It’s going to involve a great deal of furniture moving, many trips to the charity shop and patience by the bucketful! I haven’t even chosen the paint colours yet ???
Hope you all have a lovely day and can enjoy the sunshine x

brook2704 Mon 13-Jun-22 07:31:48

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s cloudy and grey. My journey home yesterday from DD1s was fine and DH picked me up from the airport here. Today I’m going to the gym first thing and then catching up on a few jobs at home - maybe a rest later after a busy few days!
Sounds like a very busy day gMattie look after yourself too
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Freespirit55 Mon 13-Jun-22 07:32:14

Morning from cloudy lancashire. I’ve had a quiet weekend walking with hubby, my son and daughter in law went to see Ed sheran . Our daughter went to see a steam fair. Meeting up with a friend this morning for a local walk, we are lucky to have some nice walks nearby. The yorkshire dales are 20 minutes drive away, I’m glad I moved here, it’s been 31 yrs now , wow that’s flown by

glammagran Mon 13-Jun-22 07:32:54

Good morning all.

We got a shock on Friday when DD2 took DGD and DGS to a nearby animal sanctuary. For lunch she bought a homemade wrapped cereal bar which said “may contain nuts” but then so does just about everything. She asked someone who said it only contained flaxseeds. One bite and she knew immediately it had nuts. “Oh yes”, said the girl serving in the cafe, “it has chopped Brazil nuts in it”. Her mouth and throat swelled up, she was very red and her bp dropped so she felt faint and dizzy. Luckily she had some anti histamines and didn’t have to use her epipen. We went to rescue her and and DH drove her and the kids back and I followed them home. But it could have been very serious indeed - it’s years since she’s had a reaction as she’s so careful. Thank heavens she hadn’t travelled far with such young children.

Weather has been so windy lately that even when the sun is out it’s not that pleasant to sit out in.

Very, very pleased with our newly decorated living room. Matt was the best decorator we’ve ever had. Flooring next week but long wait for the new corner sofa.

My thoughts are with Grandmattie and Kalu for the great difficulties they face. ?

Urmstongran Mon 13-Jun-22 07:34:26

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s warm if not particularly sunny (yet). The Boy Wonder and L’il Miss are back in school today after their Ibiza Whit holiday. Their mum is back in too at her school in Trafford.

We have no plans which is nice. Might have a run over to the garden centre as I’d like to buy a yellow miniature rose for an empty pot at my front door.

Glad your husband had a better day yesterday grandMattie he needs a few of them under his belt now. You seem to be doing well baubles which is heartening.

Enjoy Monday all who can. We are almost halfway through June - can you believe it? I think the weeks are flying by. x

NannyJan53 Mon 13-Jun-22 07:34:41

Good morning from a cloudy but much brighter Black Country.

Spent a pleasant morning yesterday with 2 DGD's whilst DD ran the Race for Life, and SIL was working. Had a walk to the village cafe, then time in the village park. Then home via Mums where we had a walk along the Staffs railway walk.

Last minute packing this morning, then off to the airport at Midday via train, as we are off to Lindos! Doubt I will post during the next 2 weeks, as for some reason I cannot access GN on my phone, it won't accept the password.

Wishing you all a lovely day.

Gingster Mon 13-Jun-22 07:37:22

Good morning all and it’s sunny but a bit cooler here on the Suffolk coast.

We had a nice longish walk yesterday with little pooch. Dh did well as his legs are quite weak (still think it’s the statins but no one will listen). He has a neurology appointment in a couple of weeks.

We enjoyed a bar b q on the bank of our garden yesterday evening. It’s lovely to watch people walking along the beach from our high point. A few swimmers too! We haven’t ventured in …yet! The North Sea is always chilly. ?.

Garden furniture restoring continues today and a bit more gardening.

Hoping you all have a ‘good’ day. ?

Urmstongran Mon 13-Jun-22 07:48:42

Matt was the best decorator we’ve ever had ah, that explains why he’s been away from the Telegraph glammagran.

Grandmadinosaur Mon 13-Jun-22 07:49:06

Good morning from East Yorkshire it is lovely and sunny.

Today I have a new duvet set to put on the bed. At lunchtime I’m having a blood test done and then I have a hair appointment soon after that. I might have to have a quick lunch out as I have 30 minutes in between.

Safe travels NannyJan and enjoy Rhodes - been a couple of times. A lovely place.

Thinking of ones with ills and poorly family?
Take care everyone.

BlueSapphire Mon 13-Jun-22 07:55:11

Good morning everyone from an overcast Northampton, set to be like this all day according to my weather app.

A run around with the Shark this morning, then make up the beds ready for the DGDs who are coming after school for an overnight stay, as DS and his partner are off to London for a show or somesuch. DD-out-law will drop their bags off after lunch. A bit of ironing to do as well. Planning on making chocolate brownies for them this afternoon. Hot dogs, as requested,.for dinner.

Enjoyed Top Gun yesterday afternoon, the cinema was full, but the seats are well spaced out. Couldn't help thinking how much DH would have enjoyed the film....

Take care, and have a good day.

Susan56 Mon 13-Jun-22 07:56:18

Good morning from Staffordshire.

We are looking after DGS today. He starts school in September so we are making the most of the next six Mondays looking after him.DD and SIL are both teachers so we only look after him in term time.

What a shock for you glammagran, so frightening for your daughter and you.Our two year old grandson has severe allergies and we have had two near misses when we have been told something is safe for him to eat and then another waitress has said oh no that contains dairy or eggs. It’s such a worry isn’t it.

Hoping Marydoll had a better day yesterday.

Thinking of kitty and family, baubles, grandMattie and DH,Kalu and DH and anyone else coping with illness, worries or struggles?

Marydoll Mon 13-Jun-22 07:59:43

Good morning all from a damp Glasgow. Please stop upsetting me with your posts about warm weather.
The good news today is I have an empty, in fact a double empty, DH is golfing and the lodgers are going into work ! ???I love Mondays. ?

I have only one task to do today.
I have had yet another hospital appointmentment rescheduled
The problem is, the appointment for next week has been rescheduled for last month.
Does anyone have a time machine?

*Novella alert* This spiel may bore you or even worse, irritate you. Please feel free to move onto the next post. I will remain in blissful ignorance.

Mick, I hope you get your phone sorted, I had a similar problem with EE years ago. I am with Virgin, bought the phone in a Virgin shop (in the days when it was not so easy to change phones) and EE ( for some reason) had blocked my calls. It took days to sort out.

Yesterday, I went out to get my fifth Covid vax , ten minutes away and didn't come back for hours. Are you surprised?
I had to go through my full medical history, which triggered a red flag, then a a big heid yin was summoned and I had to go through it all again, explain that all my consultants were in agreement that I should have it, despite all the awful side effects I had previously experienced. It's all about balance and weighing up the pros and cons.
They kept apologising for keeping me so long, but I emphasised how grateful I was that they were being so careful.

While I was sitting for the rest period, I was chatting away to the nurse, when someone said, "I recognise that voice".
Initially, I hadn't a clue who it was. It was one of my neighbours, who had changed both her hair style and colour and of course, was fully masked.
It was downhill after that, because we needed to have a meeting to collate all the cul de sac gossip news! ?
DH and I then had a lengthy debrief later at the dinner table, much to the amusement of DD and SIL. ?

When I got back to my car in the Asda underground car park, I heard a voice calling me from the large, people carrier parked beside me. All I heard was "Miss Marydoll, "Miss Marydoll"!
In the back, in a wheelchair, was one of my former pupils, who has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
He had been a very challenging pupil, before being diagnosed and I worked with him a lot. The first time I noticed something was wrong, was his strange gait going upstairs behind his class. I mentioned it to my HT, who dismissed my concerns, Within weeks, it was obvious that something was very wrong, his deterioration was so rapid.
His mom told me that she and her DH had been in denial initially and thanked me for everything I had done for him.
The best part of all had been, when he told me he was now twenty one and that he would soon be taking driving lessons in the specially built car, he was awaiting.
His lifespan had been sadly, predicted at early teens, so it was such a joy to see this young man, now an adult.
I went home truly humbled and uplifted by his zest for life, and full of admiration for his mum, when I had been feeling pretty sorry for myself with all my woes and worries.

My evening ended with an unexpected phone call from my PP. Our young assistant priest, as well as my fellow sacristans had noticed I wasn't my usual ebullient and loquacious self and were worried about me. There was me, thinking I was good at covering up. ?
He emphasised how valued and appreciated I was, not only as parishioner, but also a friend and they hadn't realised how low I was. They were concerned that I might be thinking of stepping away. I explained that my spell in A&E and my sobering and blunt conversation with the doctor, although not a surprise had given me quite a knock.

We had a good laugh when he told me that the Bishop told him, that he was so lucky to have such a good PA. I responded, saying, "You don't have a PA". His response, "The Bishop thinks you are mine and he hopes other parishes will follow
our example." ?

If you are wondering about the lodgers latest escapades, a very sheepish DD hid for most of the day, but SIL was exhausted, trying to make amends, including a very necessary visit to the tip, which DH had been reluctant to do.
Every cloud has a silver lining.

GM, Baubles and the Kalus continue to be in my thoughts and prayer and that applies to anyone who needs them.
Scentia, I hope your mood lifts and you have a productive morning.
I will go now and read the posts. There were only two when I started typing! ?

Have a pleasant day folks, whatever your plans.

ShazzaKanazza Mon 13-Jun-22 07:59:54

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a sunny Hull day. It doesn’t seem quite as windy.

grandMattie it’s good to hear your DH had a better day yesterday. ?
Monk have a lovely day for you DSs 40th birthday.
glammagran what a worry with your DD and her nut allergy on Friday. So pleased all turned out ok.
NannyJan safe journey and have a wonderful holiday.

I’ve got a bad summer cold so won’t be doing too much today. I haven’t dusted in a long time so I’ll do that and pick up DGS from school this afternoon.

Have a lovely day hopefully with sunshine and hugs for those with worries and illness. ??
