I’m just being silly

Due to have a procedure tomorrow for a “trial” which might help a bit with some of my fine selection of tumours (but most likely to help further the research) and I’m getting a bit anxious about the general anaesthetic. I don’t like the feeling of helplessness when you are wheeled into the theatre. Tell me I’m being daft….

No you are not being daft (rather harsh Kim19!) I inherited my mother’s hospital phobia and have had a pre-med twice before surgery as have been climbing the walls waiting around.
No problem once I’m sedated!?
Think how happy you will be when it’s behind you. Then treat yourself.

Good luck and thank you for going through trails which will help others.

I have been wondering how you are doing Lucca, so I would just like to add my good wishes to you for tomorrow.
Nerves are only natural, aren’t they, but as others have said, you will be well looked after.
I do hope the procedure helps you.

Sending you a comforting {{hug}}
Any procedure is unnerving but GA’s go really smoothly and easily and you will be “round” before you know it.
I hope it gives you some helpful pointers to future treatment- wishing you well ? and thinking of you.

PS I was somewhat discombobulated to be required to walk into theatre myself clutching my pillow for a gall bladder op some years ago.
I felt this was taking economies too far!

I’m out and recovering although hardly helped by a rather yucky stroganoff dinner !! Have managed to charm a couple of packets of biscuits from nurse though

ShazzaKanazza Thu 16-Jun-22 19:32:08

How did you find having the anaesthetic in the end Lucca. X

Lucca Thu 16-Jun-22 19:36:18

It was ok. Anaesthetic guys (they were guys!) chatted about tennis to me and off I went !

Talking about waking up and tennis:

British wildcard Ryan Peniston says he "does not want to wake up anytime soon" after fighting back to beat Francisco Cerundolo and reach the Queen's quarter-finals.

Awful surname ….

Holly, Lucca knows I wasn't being harsh (quite the contrary) and that's all that matters.
