Today , early shop and stay in , prefer to travel in cooler conditions .
Take Care,

Good morning from a warm sunny E Kent. It is promising to be very warm. I don’t like temperatures above about 21C so shall be miserable and grumpy in this heat.
Difficult and busy day today. The district nurse is coming early to sort out DH’s driver, so we can go to the burial of Philip’s ashes.
It’s going to be very emotional, this final goodbye. We waited until DS was back, and DD was free. She wants to perform the ceremony for her “baby” brother. DGS, his mum and the ex-girlfriend are coming. I think we’re all back here afterwards.
I had to reschedule a face to face appointment with the oncologist to midday, so poor DH will have barely a minute to recover from each event before we hare off to the next. I hope it doesn’t do him in.
Hope everyone enjoys this sunshine. Carpe diem. ????❤️

Good morning ☀️
A very poignant day for you and your family grandMattie, my thoughts are with you all ?
Off shortly for DDog’s walk, we’ll head for the village and do a shady woods and fields walk I think. She had her health check and booster jabs yesterday and was pronounced as being in excellent condition ?
I hope everyone has a peaceful day x

baubles Fri 17-Jun-22 06:21:31

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s dry but rather cloudy.

Thinking of you and your family today Mattie.

DS and DDoutL are bringing the baby to see me today, so looking forward to their visit.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day.

Good morning from Essex by the sea where we are forecast another very hot day.
Thinking of you GM on this sad day for you all ?.
I don't plan to do much today maybe a walk down to the sea later this morning.
Take care today, drink lots of water and make sure you have suncream on if you go outdoors.
Love to all xx

Good morning from a very warm and sunny sunshine Northampton.

Just a visit to the shops this morning for a 'top-up' shop, and a coffee in the M&S cafe. Then home where I hope to find some shade in the garden to sit and read.

Yesterday was busy with two dance classes, and a health walk in the evening, followed by dinner at the pub.

And also, my commissioned painting arrived safely, and it is lovely. A trip to the framers next week, I think.

Thinking of you and your family today grandMattie, trust that everything goes well.

Keep cool, but enjoy the sunshine today,
everyone.

Good morning from sunny S Hants.
Difficult day ahead gMattie thoughts with you all.
I had a busy day yesterday on the voluntary phone with some sorting out to do today.
Enjoy today if you can ??

??? to the GMs,
It promises to be a scorcher in West Oxfordshire, which I’ll find difficult. My new online V&A course starts today. It is on the Edwardians and there will be two lectures each Friday for six weeks. Younger son had his massive clear-out so after lunch we will drive into our nearby town and drop stuff off at various charity shops! It is our village festival this weekend so some of it might be donated to that. Son said he would cook us fish pie tonight. He is going back to London tomorrow.

kittylester Fri 17-Jun-22 07:02:04

Good morning from a sticky North Leicestershire.

Sad day gm. Go easy on yourself.

Our cleaner is here this morning then I am out for lunch with 3 old friends to the pub at the top of the road. I imagine we will sit under one of the huge umbrellas in the garden.

I have an empty this evening as DH and Bertie are going to the cricket.

Grandmadinosaur Fri 17-Jun-22 07:04:29

Good morning from East Yorkshire it’s very warm or muggy as I would say and overcast.
I didn’t sleep too well last night in the heat.

A difficult day GM ?

I had a lovely day yesterday. Coffee out with DH followed by lunch. Where we went all tables in the outdoor courtyard were taken so ate inside instead.
Then after school we took GS to the foreshore and the country park. There was a nice breeze there and he had a wonderful time. As we got in to the park surrounded by trees he said Wow we’re in nature! I’d made a tortilla earlier in the day so a nice easy tea when we got home. GS wolfed his sandwiches down - it must have given him an appetite.

Today we are going to Leeds not sure it’s the best idea but hey ho hope to seek refuge in the air conditioned shops.

Take care everyone.

ShazzaKanazza Fri 17-Jun-22 07:12:05

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull.

grandMattie a difficult day for you all in lots of ways. I’ll be thinking of you and sending virtual hugs?

This morning I’m going to the gym I think. I’ve not been all week with having a bad cold but feel much better so I’ll give it a go. Later picking up DGS from school and DGD from pre school and taking them to McDonalds. When we get home we’ll put the sprinkler on and they can run in and out of it.
DS has asked if we can also look after GS again between seven and nine tonight at his house. So a busy hot day.
We’ll get an Indian take out while at his house.

Wishing everyone a lovely day if possible. Hope you can stay cool. Lots of water.
Envious of people living next to the coast today. Thoughts and hugs to those with health and family worries.??

Beechnut Fri 17-Jun-22 07:17:07

Have a good look around in the chiller section Grandmadinosaur ?❄️
Good Morning everyone from sunny Severnside.
I shall go out in a short while to do a few errands before it gets too hot. Then a spot of weeding and sitting in the shade.

Thinking of you and your family today Mattie ?

On with hats and have the best day you can all ???

Gingster Fri 17-Jun-22 07:21:57

Good morning all and it’s hazy here on the Suffolk coast but the sun is just breaking through. I’m glad we’re here as there is always some kind of breeze off the sea.

We have a skip arriving this morning in readiness for a clear out at the weekend. DS2 arriving late evening and DS1 coming early tomorrow morning. They are good chaps and will work hard for us. DS1 is like a whirlwind, so we’ll have to slow him down a bit. They’ll enjoy being together and we will enjoy having them.

I’ve booked a carvery at our local pub tomorrow evening. It’s always very good.

Will walk pooch in the forest later where it will be cooler for her.

GM I do hope your day goes as well as it possible can.?.

Enjoy your course Lady

Best wishes to all and don’t overdo things in the heat.?

Ashcombe Fri 17-Jun-22 07:31:49

Good morning, all, from a sunny Torbay. I had planned a weekend at Whiddon Down to catch up with some outdoor jobs on my static but it’s due to hit 28 deg inland today then rain all weekend so I’ve abandoned that plan.

A sad occasion for you grandMattie but good to have family support. Upholding you all in my prayers. ✝️

I loved your GS's comment about nature, Grandmadinosaur! Enjoy seeing your new GC, BlueBalou and bon appetit, kittylester!

Any chance of a photo of your painting, BlueSaphhire?

Keep cool and drink plenty of water, everyone! ?????

mumofmadboys Fri 17-Jun-22 07:32:43

Good morning from Cumbria! Thinking of the GMs today on such a poignant day. We are meeting friends today at a country park for a walk and snack lunch in the cafe. Will be a relaxing day. Our UA family are doing well. The 4 year old boy , now he knows us, is getting naughtier! The little girl is delightful. We looked after her yesterday so mum could go on a school trip with her son. Wishing everyone the best day possible

Ashcombe Fri 17-Jun-22 07:33:44

Sorry - my GC comment was for baubles! Apologies to you and BlueBalou! ?

ginny Fri 17-Jun-22 07:33:44

Good morning everyone. I think I am in the minority but I’m loving the weather and making the most of it.
Just about to wash my hair and shower and then I’m off for a day with DD1.
We are going to the Canal museum and a wander along the canal with lunch in between.
At my sewing club yesterday we had a surprise visit from one of our members who has been seriously Ill.
She has a long way yet to go but we were all so pleased and a little teary eyed to see her .
Thoughts with those who face a difficult day and wish all a smile along the way.

dragonfly46 Fri 17-Jun-22 07:35:00

Good morning from a warm but breezy Leicestershire.

Sending our way south to DD’s today so will have the air conditioning on.

Thinking of you today Mattie.
Sorry to hear about Urms.

dragonfly46 Fri 17-Jun-22 07:36:55

That should be wending!

Pittcity Fri 17-Jun-22 07:40:16

Good morning from Colchester which is bathed in hazy sunshine. It's already 20° and rising to 32° today.
I'm planning on doing as little as possible.
At my MOT yesterday the nurse told me that I'd lost weight since my last visit (faulty scales methinks) but gained height (she measured me with shoes on!). Fasting bloods on Monday morning for full workup.

Hugs for GM and all who need them. Love to all ? x

NanKate Fri 17-Jun-22 07:51:12

Good morning Mick and All.

Will shelter indoors today here in South Bucks as it will hit 30+.

?grandMattie what a sad day for you and your family.

Hope your operation goes well today FannyCornforth.

Marydoll Fri 17-Jun-22 07:57:07

Good morning from a very wet and miserable Glasgow, so much so that DH has cancelled the golf. A rare event indeed.
I will gladly swop our miserable weather, for a modicum of your hot weather. ?
I don't know where our summer has gone.

We had a pleasant visit to Largs yesterday, but spent most of it sheltering in the car from the torrential rain.
A fortune was spent in the garden centre on route, including purchasing some lovely glazed pots, which we didn't need.
Thinking we weren't buying much, (as if) DH took a trolley, instead of a bogey.
I spotted a large pot, which DH balanced on the trolley, as it was a little too large to fit. After going over a bump, it slipped and jammed in the trolley. No matter what we did, much to our horror, it wouldn't budge! ?
Due to it being porcelain, we were afraid to force it, so I suggested that we leave it in the trolley at the checkout and surreptiously try to free it in the carpark in the pouring rain !

A gentle day for me, I have significant oedema, in my ankles, not a good sign, concerning my heart. ?
After a meeting to organise the church spread on Sunday, I plan to rest. If it doesn't settle, I shall need to phone my GP on Monday, on the advice of the A&E doctor. Oh and I need to chase up a missing parcel. Apparently I returned it, I never received it in the first place!!!?

A difficult day ahead for you and your family, GM, Baubles enjoy your visitors today, Kalu worrying days ahead for you too and I hope there is better news of Grannmarie's husband.
There will be candles lit today for all our Gransnet friends, who need our support.

Enjoy your good weather folks, but take care in the heat..
