Good morning all from bright Harrogate. Yes it promises to be a nice day today. After the miserable start to summer I welcome a bit of sun!
We got back yesterday from my sisters. She has put her house on the market, has an open day tomorrow and 70
People booked to see it!
Today we will be doing a grocery shop and generally be catching up after 10 days away.
Hugs to GrandMattie hope your day goes smoothly.

A late good morning Michael and all GNs from an already warm South Yorkshire, though we have a slight breeze. My hip was very painful last night so little sleep. Yesterday the temperature in the conservatory reached 86 degrees F. With the doors open! I gave up on trying to do stuff outside, and then gave up on doing much inside! Today I am clearing out one of the freezers so at least I’ll be cool for a bit!
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning all from a very soggy Glasgow, of course it is, window clear came yesterday and I watered the garden late last night.

A sad day for you and your family GM ?
I do envy you having baby cuddles Baubles Enjoy your time with this new little bundle (((cuddles))).

DD2 and SiL are off for a couple of days at the But n Ben in Perthshire and SiL is looking forward to his first trip to St Andrews, my favourite town. Fingers crossed the weather is better on the east coast?

A day of faffing around as we will enjoy having the house to ourselves. Love having the family around but it is also good for all of us to get on with normal life then enjoy catching up again.

Hoping for a good day for all especially those with troubles to bare.

Morning all,

It’s turned overcast after a fairly sunny start, and feels very warm and muggy. Despite the warm night, I managed a reasonable nights sleep without waking up in the early hours, which makes a change for me.

Not sure what will be on the agenda today, but if it’s going to be as hot as they say, then not a lot.

? GrandMattie

Very dull and damp here in Co Armagh, looks like we have had rain in the night
?? For gMattie . Marydoll your idea of a restful day ain’t my idea !

harrigran Fri 17-Jun-22 08:48:47

Good morning from an overcast NE.
Yesterday started well but the sunshine only lasted until lunchtime. I did clean the garden furniture and sat for an hour doing a crossword.
My left shoulder is very painful and I have restricted movement so not doing much housework.
I believe they have started work on my sister's flat, hoping it may be habitable by next Wednesday when she arrives in the UK.
Difficult day for you grandMattie, I hope your DH is able to attend.
Enjoy your time with your baby grandson Baubles.

Chrissielou Fri 17-Jun-22 08:56:45

A lovely sunny and hot day expected in West Oxfordshire. DH took the dog along the river this morning at 5am, 4 miles walked and a very happy pair returned for breakfast.
grandMattie my thoughts are with you today, no words can express how you must be feeling I'm sure.
Thoughts to all who are struggling at the moment, in one way or another.
May you find some joy today.

GrannySomerset Fri 17-Jun-22 08:58:54

Today promises to be hot so that I shall have a reading day - actually a great luxury which I don’t allow myself nearly often enough.

Thoughts with gMattie especially today and all those struggling with life.

Grandmabatty Fri 17-Jun-22 09:02:03

Good morning all from a wet Polmont. It's already warm (for here) at 17° and quite humid. Take lots of care you people further south. Fluids and shade. Grandmattie a hard day for you all.
Yesterday was a pottering day. I had a fairly good night's sleep but at one point I turned over and fell out of bed. I managed to stop myself landing on the floor but banged my head on the bedside table. It's a bit tender this morning.
Today I have to hang about for stepladders to be delivered. My sil has helped out with out of reach stuff in the past but I like to be independent. I bought two lampshades for the hall so that was my impetus. Later on, we are having a family catch up with my aunt and uncle who have been in Wales and Stratford with their caravan and then all points north as they wended home. We're meeting at their golf club for fish and chips. It'll be good to see them again. Before then, I'll do some housework. Have a good day all.

Good morning Mick and all. It’s sunny in my corner of Lancashire, currently 21°C.

We are off out today so will catch up later.

My thoughts are with those going through difficult times, I hope today is a good one for us all ?.

Good morning all from a sunny W Kent. Waiting for my brother to arrive, it is his birthday, so DH and I are taking him out for lunch, whether we can eat much in this heat remains to be seen.
Thinking of you gMattie I am sure you will all give comfort to each other.
Grandmabatty hope your head is ok soon!
Good wishes to all

Grandmabatty Fri 17-Jun-22 09:47:32

Thank you lulut it's ok, just a bit sore. ?

Grammaretto Fri 17-Jun-22 10:03:51

Good morning folks from the Scottish Borders where it's P** with rain.
Yesterday's class and today's yoga cancelled due to covid and DD has it now. I offered to help with the wee ones but she refused.
My df arrives today to stay to attend her AS summer fair at his residential community tomorrow. There hasn't been one for 3 years so it would be great if the rain stays off.

gM I hope the day goes well. I am sure your indomitable spirit will carry you through.

Take care everyone.

gillgran Fri 17-Jun-22 10:15:48

Good Morning to you all from a hot, (& getting Hotter!), Cambs.,

Thoughts for grandMattie & your family. flowers

Thank you GG13 for passing on Urmstongran's message, tell her that we will miss her, (how apt her picture was, (with the girl on the end!!))

Take care, all, especially those of you with extra worries.

Stilllearning Fri 17-Jun-22 10:28:39

Morning from S Lanarkshire where it is now very wet. I am still at DD’s house after last night’s Primary 7 concert which was of course lovely but after four performances the children are exhausted this morning! DD has just driven DG into Glasgow instead of catching the school bus.

You must be so looking forward to seeing the baby baubles, enjoy the cuddles.

Thoughts to you and your family grandMattie

I’m not sure if I mentioned before that I was going to the funeral of a friend’s son. He had Down’s Syndrome and was a delightful young man who touched many lives and was universally loved. Part of the eulogy was a poem which was so lovely and true that I thought I would share the title here for anyone who doesn’t already know it. It’s called ‘The Dash’ and it’s by Linda Ellis.

Wishing everyone a good day ???

Georgesgran Fri 17-Jun-22 10:55:33

A late good morning from Durham, where it’s heavily overcast and certainly not as hot as other parts of the country all forecast. The gardeners have just left and I have DD2s dogs here again. I’m beginning to think I have them more than she does and I’m going to discuss the possibility of keeping the old one three days a week. His eyesight and hearing are failing and I sense she is a bit concerned, now that baby is on his feet, although he [the dog] hasn’t a bad bone in his body.
?gM and strength to get through today and what lies ahead.
That’s a lovely poem Stillearning for a sad occasion.
Urms - norty step???

Nanna58 Fri 17-Jun-22 11:04:30

dustyangel Fri 17-Jun-22 11:21:07

Good morning everyone.
Sending loving thoughts to grandMattie and her family for what will be a hard day for them all. ?

It’s been hot, humid and horrible here for the last week with temperatures up to 31°. Even the wind has been hot.
Today thankfully it’s not yet reached higher than 24°, so with any luck we’ll have our promised few days of lower temperatures.

ShazzaKanazza Fri 17-Jun-22 11:24:11

Thinking of you too today Nanna58??

Georgesgran Fri 17-Jun-22 12:10:58
