‘Evening All’
We’ve had a grandchild free day, so (a) with stepfather at a lunch out and then (b) in a bar later this afternoon with friends, we’ve enjoyed an alcofrolic time! As you do, occasionally. Sat here now, sipping water to level things out a bit. I shall step back from the keyboard tonight. Certainly no N&P threads whilst I’m over the driving limit!
Talking of driving (not) the car hasn’t been looked at yet by the mechanic. Tomorrow hopefully. When we walked past it at lunchtime my stepfather suggested we chuck a couple of Aspros under the bonnet. I’ve heard of worse suggestions ?

This is a Suffolk sunset. Not as dramatic as soops but calm! Lots of hares about today - how I love this county!

Jax Is your dear husband really so youthful? How lovely is that. My 81st is on the horizon followed by Mr S's 82nd. We well remember our 60th. We were preparing to move to Scotland where we intended building our third home. Those were the days. We had super-sonic energy to spare.

Hellogirl1 We said hello to dear David a couple of days ago. You would hardly recognise the campsite since it changed ownership.
riete You do not need to slave over a hot iron. There is always cake (virtually calorie-free) for all our Kitcheners. Help yourself.

Blossoming Glenmorangie was a great favourite of my late father. Middle son also appreciates it's mellowness. Please, get well soon.

Nannytopsy Your lovely sunset is like a watercolour painting. MrS enjoys the occasional dram of Ardmore. We recently had a dram at our friend's home. It was the BEST that I've ever tasted. I asked him, was it Scottish etc., we were surprised to hear that it is made in the Lakeland area of England. He then told us that it was reserved for special friends. Why? It cost £80 a bottle. No wonder I enjoyed it. 
brook was it sixpence or a shilling that we as children were gifted from the tooth fairy? That would be in the 40s. I recall running along the street to my Nana's home with a tooth in my hanky. I must have dropped it on the way and was heartbroken when I had no tooth to show her. She was a good Nana, she gave me a shilling anyway.
Nannytopsy Doze away. Many of ^us lot* will be feeling the need for more than forty winks. It isn't hot here. It's a pleasant day and there is a gentle breeze. Just about right for we two.

It’s been very hot again today, we’ve been to watch number 2 son and Oscar fishing.Oscar did really well it so good for him and a nice hobby.

‘Evening All’
A different pic this evening in this warm weather! This was the train station at 8pm tonight in buzzy Urmston on a Saturday evening! I can hear the chattering and vibes from up here on my balcony! Love it. Those on the platform opposite are waiting for the train in 10 minutes to Irlam, Warrington or Liverpool for their night out. Remember what it was like to be young and anticipatory for the night ahead? I do love people watching from up here!
A great birthday party this afternoon indoors at the local leisure centre for our Boy Wonder who is 10y old this weekend. Grandad was ref at one stage with L’il Miss allowed to blow the whistle for the ⚽️ game which, as you can imagine, she absolutely loved! That match was 6-all (clever grandad!) and she had to blow the whistle 12 times! She was in her element.
What I loved to hear was that a boy from our Boy Wonder's class who is non-sporty and is apparently somewhere on the spectrum with difficulties in some areas, attended the party and was chosen to be on the team he wanted. His mum said he’d been looking forward to this all week and hoping very much to be included in the way he wished. He had a great time! Our Boy Wonder had made sure he was part of the team and all the boys clapped when he scored a goal. His mum said it made her day to see him so happy. To be honest - it made ours too.

Haven't been in for a while (but still grateful for the support offered when I popped in to talk about DH's broken leg). Here is some red wine for anyone who fancies it.
Urmstongran, I do envy you your view of the station. I love watching trains. We can sometimes hear them from here if the wind is in the right direction, but can't see them.
Hope those of you in the south get on all right with the heat wave. Thinking about you all.
