I’m chortling at the thought of you hiding in the bedroom snaffling down chocs as fast as you can, Urms. I want some choc now, though not ginger.

Re the bat in DD’s sink - they have regular dealings with bats in their house. It’s an old school house and there are bats in the roof. They think there’s a hole somewhere in the wall between the attic and house and sometimes the bats get lost and come inside. The brighter ones manage to get out the door but the dim ones have to be evicted. ?

I didn’t get my car keys back! Only because the car is staying overnight as it needs a new part which will arrive in the morning so there was no point in bringing it home. That means I’ll have to drive dh’s sports car tomorrow when I go out to an appointment. How sad!

We’re hoping to go away for a few days when ds1 and family come over from the States next month so today I’ve met a very nice young woman who will come and look after our aged cat for us. We were stuck for accommodation too, with a Travelodge costing £564 for three nights! A friend has come to the rescue - she’s going away and we can stay in her house. A very kind gesture. ❤️

I’ve a busy few days ahead but I hope to be able to pop into the kitchen now and then. TOYA. Xx

Hello everyone. I’ve been catching up and now of course can’t recall who said what. And sigh. I used to have a memory. Wonder where I left it?

Some wonderful scenery and nature images, a very appealing dog-stick. We also found the M&S drink and cake offer, definitely one to recommend. Get well thoughts winging to the poorly people, little and big.

Last week flew past. Seeing our granddaughter in her prom dress I had a quiet weep, how did she get to be so grown up? Our Littlest turned 7, we enjoyed a super family garden party. I was interviewed for a volunteer role supporting adults improving their literacy skills then needed to apologise to my referees for the incredibly demanding and detailed reference forms. A friend was admitted to hospital with a suspected stroke (she had a serious brain bleed 3 years ago), after tests a TIA was diagnosed, the TIA clinic disagreed and have diagnosed a seizure. All a bit much really for her and her daughter who is here carer. It’s her birthday tomorrow, I’ll be phoning in hope she is well enough to chat, good days and not so good days.

This week is quieter but having its moments. Life eh? I discovered the dentist had not in fact referred me to the dental hospital for treatment for my jaw issues, hopefully he has now. I’m tired of the pain and general inconvenience. We concluded our LPA process, a relief there. We discovered Mr C must be patient for a whole year before an ENT appointment is likely, blimey. Tomorrow there’s a meeting to attend about major changes proposed to our local hospital. Will it be a positive outcome. Cynically I fear not. May need to retreat to M&S for more cake!

So that’s life in cornerland. I do think of you all and wish you well, take care everyone.

We have an unexpected visit from my nephew for two nights, from tomorrow. As a result, there has been a great deal of cleaning and tidying. It has done us the world of good! He promised to bring gin! I have stocked up on tonic. ?
We have an electric fly killer and it’s reassuring to hear it working its way through the fruit fly infestation in the kitchen. Horrible little buggers!

For the chocoholics on here, who else has tried McV's Jaffa Jonuts? I just ate two with my fourth mug of tea this morning, after fighting the printer which wouldn't put the ink cartridges where I could get at the button you have to press to get one out so you can replace it. So irritating! Eventually I jammed a finger in the works to make it stop where it should. I think it's brake pads need changing too.

So... now I'm fueled up to tackle some financial chores.

Oh... the point of this post: I prefer Jonuts to 'normal' Jaffa Cakes.

DH has his Pulmonary out patient follow up appointment this afternoon, he'll have to stay awake for that! He's still weak, sleeping a lot but I'm sure that's restorative.

I’m on the volunteer phone line today, so slightly tied to the house. I had a lovely day yesterday visiting a friend in the New Forest, over 3 hours chatting, the visit slightly marred by seeing a fawn hit on the way home. They just leap out so quickly, the driver opposite had no chance of avoiding it.
MrJ went away yesterday golfing until tomorrow, part of the celebrations for his 60th in a few weeks time, I’ve been printing embarrassing photos of his younger years. They’ll be posted in our local nearer the day, with balloons, banners and cake.

Just popping in with my 'bat' story. We too live in an old village school and bats hang around in a sort of Victorian air vent on the roof. They fly in through the open bedroom windows and I find it quite disconcerting to see a bat on the ceiling by a beam. Actually, that is an incorrect statement! I leave the room hurriedly!!

Not keen on chocolate gingers but Thornton's chocolate brazils could tempt me.

DD is still in hospital but is clearly feeling ok as she has requested that we visit with a cheese salad, 'nice' bread and butter and some cake. So, to coin a Baggism, hey ho, off to the shop and kitchen I go.

Aha... Only because you are all so lovely will I share that Holland and Barrett doave mixed bags of ginger.. Some covered in milk chocolate..some in dark and some just crystallised. All in the same bag.. Last time I bought some it was but one and get the second half price. As they say in Wales...Lush.

Whoever recommended Kennedy’s chocolates has a lot to answer for. I’ve just ordered a second box!

Another gorgeous sunny day here, I’ve pottered about in the garden and sat in the shade under the gazebo. So pleased the weather has been so good today as DGD went on a school trip to Nairn beach - she had a fantastic day in and out of the sea

Kitty very pleased your DD is feeling better and requesting tasty food. When my sister went into hospital after a bike accident she just couldn’t stand the food. As a foodie after a week she said enough is enough and requested crispy mixed salads olives and anchovies and sun dried tomatoes. It was in 2020 so her DH had to drop it at the door.

Naughtyneine I’ll be on the look out for the gingers in H&B.

Taking about food and drink is one of my fave subjects lol. Glass of wine while watching The Chase at the moment. Don’t think I’ll want anything to eat till morning.

The breathing tests took most of an hour, and although I got a wheelchair to take him from the entrance to the OP clinic, he still found the outing tiring. Anyhow, the results will go to his consultant and we will hear back ' in due course '...

I hope Soop's telephone appointment with her cancer consultant goes well.??

We have had an exhausting day.Took Henry to see my mum.We had a nice day but this last illness has totally knocked her confidence.She has always been opinionated and sharp but she is so quiet and lacking in confidence.It has made me very sad.She still lives in the family home but she has realised it is too much for her and is wanting to move to assisted living near us.It will make our life easier in a lot of ways but going to be a big difference for everyone.

Will catch up with everyone’s news tomorrow.For now a large glass of red wine has my name on it?

Dgs1 has now developed impetigo. I'm glad I mentioned it to dd yesterday as years of working with children means I can spot such things. He's totally run down, the wee scone. Lots of fresh air and sleep. They came to my house this afternoon. I had pulled out a couple of things for dgs2: a walker and a big donut thing for him to sit in safely. He was delighted. Dgs1 kept trying to get into the action and was very annoyed he couldn't. I bought him a water pistol to use in the garden. I've had a lovely chicken salad for dinner and a bloody Mary. Tomorrow I have a whole day art workshop to look forward to. Enjoy your evening my friends.

No more bat tales from me but this morning I could hear one of the many seagulls in this area squawking away. Imagine my surprise when I opened the bedroom door and found it was my cat making seagull sounds! He’s never miaowed like that before. I think we need to move before he sprouts wings and a beak!

Today I’ve had gel nails done - a cheery yellow, which my dd says reminds her of amoxycillin syrup. RUDE! I’ve also collected my car from the dealership. It had a fault on a part of the computer system but it was replaced FOC.

My dd2 arrives late tonight. Won’t see her until tomorrow but I’m looking forward to that very much.
