Being driven over the Applecross cattle pass in the Highlands of Scotland. The views were amazing, I'm glad we did it but wouldn't want to repeat the experience!

It's an incredible drive, done it several times. But the one I wouldn't like to repeat was the one in thick fog where I couldn't see the road ahead of me for more than about 10ft.
fiorentina51 I wouldn't suggest a holiday in Corsica if you didn't like the Pass of the Cattle!

I have no idea what possessed me to agree to it. My husband was the driver and he had to reverse round a bend near a passing place to allow some vehicles to pass. I had to get out whilst he did it.
Going through the Southern Alps on South Island New Zealand was another hair raising ride. Arthur's Pass and the aptly named Death Corner. ?

*Marmight*. That lunch sounded something else! Was it just any old submarine?

It wasn’t a submarine but a minesweeper. If it had been I would have foregone the lunch! I don’t do confined spaces or underwater ?. It was during East Coast Sailing Week back in the 90’s.

Alcatraz, literally sucked any joy out of my soul, felt awful for several hours after. Very interesting place though

Horse riding in France up and down steep hill sides for an interminable time, I was sooo frightened.
I could argue it was the height but if I were to swim in the glass pool connecting two blocks in London that would be a different matter…

The cable car on Langkawi...the door didn't shut properly and I spent the whole journey down terrified that the person I was with would fall out. I couldn't walk when we finally reached the bottom. I also did the Shotover River Ride in Queenstown NZ early on a Monday morning.... Everyone said don't sit at the back but by the time I got to the front of the queue that was all that was left. I didn't most of the trip (which involved flying down the river and swerving away from the overhanging rocks at the VERY last minute) with my eyes closed and legs squeezed together in case I wet myself with fear!!!!!

Took a puff of my Grandad's pipe! Uugh!
Think I was curious and he was more than happy to give me a reason to never be curious again.

Any kind of procedure e.g. back massage or acupuncture which means I have to lie on my front with my head in a hole! Most uncomfortable!

Not a dangerous activity, but when I was 18 I had my makeup done at a big London store, a birthday gift voucher from work colleagues. I took over an hour and when she'd finished I looked like a drag queen! Heavy foundation that made my face feel stiff, ridiculous false lashes, shadow and eyeliner, too much of everything! She was so proud of her efforts and kept telling me I looked wonderful. I went straight to the ladies room and washed it all off. Never again! Perhaps that's why I've very, very rarely worn make up since.

Going to the top of the big dome at Eden...terrified of heights but was persuaded...never been as terrified and wouldn't do it again if paid!

A gastroscopy without sedation. Horrible!

White Scar caves in Yorkshire. Went with school party. Being tall I banged my helmeted head at every step despite being bent double. Ever after I nobly volunteered to stay with the timid children in the cafe at the top! ?

Dunn's River Falls, Ocho Rios, Jamaica involved a climb up over rapid waterfalls. Every so often you were expected to go backwards into deep water although not advised of this at the outset. Then the 'tour guide' wanted you to pay an exorbitant price for the video they took of your humiliation. Never again - come to think of it ditto Jamaica.

Trekking in Nepal, mountain sickness and food poisoning, once in a lifetime? Yes, only once!!

Spent 3 weeks on a yatcht sailing to Greek islands. I was the crew for DH. Never again. I suffer from sea sickness and it wasn't like a "mirror" as I was assured.

I went on the back of my brother-in-law's Harley motorbike last December, never again, thought I was going to die

And paragliding behind a boat, did it in Greece, nearly passed out. NEVER again

Going down hundreds of metres of the spiral staircase into the Padirac Chasm in the Dordogne. I froze halfway and got a lot of French people swearing at me. Then at the bottom, there was a boat trip. I was asked to move away from DH for balance and said no and got another load of superlatives. DH's arm was black and blue from me gripping so hard.
We came up by a lift thank goodness. Everyone pointed out it had been me who wanted to see the stalagmites and stalactites I was so b...scared I never saw them and then I cried.

A cruise! Has no appeal to me. I did not like the confined space, the regimented approach to everything even though the food was incredible and the staff were lovely.
I would much prefer a city break and take time to know the place rather than to be looking to see what the time was, terrified the ship would leave without me. No thank you, never again.

I ate a mussel. I won't do it again. Same applies to the one snail I ate.

For eight months I pestered every NHS practitioner I came across to get an MRI scan for my agonising back and sciatic pain. Eventually, I wore one down and was assigned to a mobile unit with a very narrow and dark tube.

I was utterly and completely terrified for forty whole minutes with claustrophobia and fear of the noise. I thought, ‘Never again!’

It did get me the operation which fixed the condition but, when I had to have another MRI scan I had a hissy fit and cried. The hospital machine however, was wider, lighter and better supervised and was a different experience altogether.

Beware of what you wish for.
