Good Morning Everyone,
Have woken up to blue skies and sunshine here in brackley this morning.
Today, apart from a small local shop , I have planned to get the bus to Bicester and relax.
Yesterday, a phone call as regards putting tube into my stomach etc , I suggested a date, and now find family members are unable to do as they like a family member with you for the 3 hours or so task.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick, it’s blue skies here too in Wiltshire.
I hope you manage to find someone to accompany you for your hospital investigation.
Yet more sorting here today, I’m starting to feel a bit jaded ?, especially as so much to do and the garden is suffering from lack of attention. I need to write a ‘To Do’ list I think!
Enjoy the sunshine everyone x

grandMattie Fri 08-Jul-22 06:20:02

Good morning from a bright E Kent. Wall to wall sunshine forecast today. I don’t do “hot” and shall hate the next few days/nights.
While looking for papers to take to the registrar today, I found an insane amount of cash that DH had stashed away! I don’t know what he was thinking.
DD asked the Bish to say a few words at the funeral, and he popped round to chat about DH, it was lovely to reminisce.
Nothing much else, just convalescing…
Hope Miss Marydoll is more rested today and manages her talks to the family- a difficult one, as I know to my cost.
? to those on the norty step. Come back Urms, we miss you. Ash, enjoy oldd visit.
Carpe diem, dear friends. ?????

Good morning, everyone, from a sunny Torbay, from which we shall be travelling North to be with my DD2 and family. My DGD is participating in her Theatre Academy Dance Show at Crewe Lyceum.

Due to a member of the cast dropping out of ‘Allo, ‘Allo yesterday, it’s possible olddudders might have a main part! Watch this space! As he isn’t here for all the rehearsals, we shall practise his lines and moves on Zoom, if the director decides to run with the idea.

The hoarding of cash was something my late mother did when she was still in her own house, grandMattie. A puzzling aspect of your late DH's final weeks. It sounds like you are keeping busy but I hope you are being kind to yourself. ?

I hope you can sort out someone to accompany you for the procedure, Mick. It could be a friend if family aren’t able to be there.

Have a good weekend, everyone, if possible. ?????

Pantglas2 Fri 08-Jul-22 06:54:47

I’m later this morning Mick, Blue and GM and we’re having ? again today- ? lots of washing will be dancing in my garden!

I wonder is it an age thing grandMattie hiding money around the homestead? My beloved 85 year old aunt did the same - enough there to pay for the funeral tea! ?‍♀️

A trot to Aldi in Llandudno for their delish wagyu burgers to be scoffed sometime this weekend ? and we have a new deli opening in Conwy tomorrow so I shall saunter over and see what temptations are available….?

Hope everyone has lovely weekend if you can x

Beechnut Fri 08-Jul-22 07:08:20

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. We have a warm sunny start with a lovely blue sky.

I must admit to putting money in different places in the past. I don’t do it now.

I’ve had myself a health week. I’ve been to the optician, where my eyes have stayed the same, the dentist and made appointments for two other health related things. We’ll see how things go from now on.

Off to shop later and change the bed. Will probably sit outside with my book.

Have a good day all and? ???

Jaxjacky Fri 08-Jul-22 07:09:36

Morning all from bright sun in S Hants, a warm few days ahead, watering will be my priority.
Convalescing is utterly right grandMattie go gently ?
Off to lunch at a friends today, tennis this afternoon and food delivery.
So oldudders gets his theatre break Ash stardom beckons ?
Enjoy your best day all ??

kittylester Fri 08-Jul-22 07:16:47

Good morning all from an already warm North Leicestershire.

Our cleaner will be here this morning so I will sort out some returns and go to the post office.

Had potentially sad news yesterday when our next door neighbour told me they may move to Scotland. She was in DD2's year at school and her mum had an office in our building so we knew them quite well. And, then she married the chap who owned the house next door to us and they have had 2 gorgeous little boys. If they go it will be very sad.

Sending love and hugs to all.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny sunshineNorthampton. Looks set to be a beautiful day.

Shall have my usual shopping trip out this morning with coffee at the M&S Cafe. I am due a free coffee! Then this afternoon will sit in the garden and read; may make a start on our new book club read, as it is only a couple of weeks to our next meeting.

Wishing all a pleasant sunny Friday.

Grandmadinosaur Fri 08-Jul-22 07:27:28

Good morning from sunny East Yorkshire.

Today I have a few jobs to do and early this afternoon I stupidly have a hair appointment. This will clash with the tennis semi final. Good thing my hairdresser is back from maternity leave and she doesn't hang about. Hoping it’s a 5 setter so I don’t miss too much ?

Yesterday I received a letter to attend for jury service next month. My heart sank as I read the letter. I do not feel up to it at all. Firstly from a health wise point of view plus awaiting a rearranged date on my foot procedure. Then it involves a twice daily commute on public transport and a short walk to the courts. Thought I was done with all that. Adding on the unreliability of the services it just all seems too much for me to cope with. Sorry to moan as it seems petty compared to worries of others.

Enjoy time with the family Ash

Thoughts to GM and Marydoll ?

Take care everyone.

Greyduster Fri 08-Jul-22 07:29:53

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is up in .South Yorkshire. I got my haircut yesterday and it was lovely to chat to my hairdresser; she makes me laugh. I spent the rest of the afternoon tidying my garden. I’m getting there with it, bit by bit. My house guest left for home late yesterday afternoon after a cup of tea and a long chat. I hadn’t seen a lot of him while he was here - didn’t even get the chance to cook him a meal (lucky lad), but was happy to save him the cost of two nights in a hotel. I spent last night at DD’s and we had a nice curry for dinner. We are going shopping this morning and then I will go home.
GM my father in law did that - bundles of notes all over the house, some in a tin in the garden shed……
Have the best day you can, folks.

Gingster Fri 08-Jul-22 07:36:32

Good morning all and it’s a beautiful day here at the Suffolk seaside. Always a slight breeze which is refreshing, thank goodness as the heat wearies me.

This evening we have ds1, dil, 2 dgd’s and a friend and a large dog arriving for the weekend, so beds to be made, shopping and a few baked treats to be prepared. I hope the weather stays fine and they can swim and have fun on the beach, bar b q and generally relax . The girls have had exams and DS has started a new job, so a break will do them all good.

GM you are often in my thoughts and prayers ?

Marydoll - ?

Kitty sad to lose a good neighbour. ?

Ash safe journey to Crewe. ?

Mick I’m sure a friend would accompany you.?

I hope you all find a little ?today.

cornergran Fri 08-Jul-22 07:40:44

Morning Mick, morning All. A clear sky over our corner of Somerset.

Physio for me at lunch time and general faffing around it. Will begin painting again on Monday, don’t want to fill today and Sunday as we’ve a long day out by coach tomorrow. I’m looking forward to an air conditioned coach and hope it has effective pollen filters, minor I know but the flipping hay fever has me looking as if I’ve two black eyes.

A neighbour did the same gm as her family discovered on beginning to sort her home. They were surprised too. Go gently please, you too marydoll and anyone else finding life exhausting.

Hope Friday is kind to us all.

dragonfly46 Fri 08-Jul-22 07:40:49

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

Not much planned for today except to do battle with Sky!
After that will sit with a book under the tree in my garden.

I used to have a pound coin in all my coat pockets for supermarket trolleys - now I have a £10 note in case when out for a walk we stop for a coffee. There must be quite a stash.

Pittcity Fri 08-Jul-22 07:41:09

Good morning from sunny Colchester. A hot day to come. DH's plans for today and the weekend have been cancelled and DS is home for the weekend. We therefore need a supermarket visit this morning as I'm not missing a moment of Wimbledon this afternoon. I have ironing to do and need to paint a bit more of the woodwork. I can't get DH to help as he says it's too fiddly. Hopefully he'll keep out of my way and wash the car.
Love to all ? x

Grandmabatty Fri 08-Jul-22 07:42:42

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 15° and partially sunny. Positively tropical! Mick I hope you get your hospital appointment sorted. grandmadinosaur you might not be picked.
Yesterday I worked in the house and garden all day. No lazy gran a la Urms here. I finally made gooseberry jam and it set beautifully. I also got a phone call from my dentist offering me a check up! I was gobsmacked but very happy. It's been impossible to get an appointment unless you go private. I was in touch with an old friend to offer him some jam. We had had a cool relationship of late. I said something thoughtless and he took the huff. I decided life was too short so messaged him. He replied immediately and is making me lemon curd in return so I was glad I sent the message.
Today I'm looking after both boys for four hours or so. That'll be full on, I imagine. I built up a new high chair for dgs2 yesterday and bought extra sand for the sandpit for dgs1, as well as a train set for him to play with at Grandma's house. The boy is still obsessed with trains. He seems to be recovering finally from ear infections. I'm off to have a second cup of coffee. I'll need all the energy I possess. Have a good day all.

Marydoll Fri 08-Jul-22 07:46:01

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it's 13C°, perfect golfing day for DH.

Sorry to hear about your problems with your appointment Mick. I suspect that you have opted for sedation, so you need someone with you to accompany you home. I'm sure someone will put me right, but if you have sedation, they insist that you are not on your own overnight.
It's good to hear you have that option of booking your appointment, I am at the mercy of the system, I am afraid.

Thank you for all your kind messages yesterday, I just wasn't really up to responding.
Between the plumber being here all and a dash to the pharmacy for anti spasmodic medication (my urgent prescription had gone astray), I was whacked. I feel as if I am permanently in labour with triplets!

The plumber is back again today, catching up on all the backlog of jobs, postponed due to me sheilding.
I had asked DH to empty under the sinks, as we were replacing all the dripping taps. Last night I thought we had been hit by an hurricane!
Chaos and anarchy reigned, as everything had been randomly dumped on every surface and in rooms, where there was no need for it to be dumped. ?
I have tried to bite my tongue, but unfortunately it is full of ulcers! ?

This morning we were all fighting to use the shower room as the water will be off again today, our bathroom is out of commission and of course everyone thinks their need is more important than others.

I bumped into my friend of forty years, who was a bit dry because I hadn't turned up at a church thing. (I was ill!) I said I had messaged her, but had got no reply. It turned out that she had changed her number and forgot to tell me, so she had never received it. All sorted!

Today will be a quiet one, well as quiet as it possibly can be.
Sending hugs to all who need them. x

ShazzaKanazza Fri 08-Jul-22 07:51:03

Good Morning from Hull and as Grandmadinosaur said it’s lovely and sunny.
I would love to do jury service one day but I appreciate how your not up to it at the moment. ?Enjoy your pamper today and hope Cameron Norrie wins. X

Mick hope you can find someone to accompany you. How times have changed not so long ago you’d have had to go on your own.

grandMattie my uncle did the same thing with money. He lived with my other uncle who has special needs and they lived like paupers not even switching heating on. When he died my mum found thousands and thousands around his bedroom. My mum was heartbroken given how they’d lived.

Today it’s a long walk and then a big shop. Then feet up in the garden later enjoying the sunshine. Probably watching DH potter around.
Enjoy your day everyone. Hugs to those with stress, worries and illness to cope with ??

brook2704 Fri 08-Jul-22 08:06:04

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s warm and sunny with a few clouds about
Safe journey Ash and hoping your DGDs show goes well, how lovely that you’ll both be there to watch her
Today I’m off to the gym for the Aqua class splash around and then coffee and a sandwich with my friend.
Hope the Jury service isn’t problematic grandmadinosaur fingers crossed you might not be needed
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

NannyJan53 Fri 08-Jul-22 08:24:45

Good morning from a sunny Black Country where it it predicted to be very hot1

My friend and I are going to Bewdley on the bus today, a stroll by the river, a mooch in the shops, then lunch by the river. We have known each other since we were 18, and now live 10 minutes walk away!

It's Upton Blues Festival next weekend, so hope the rain holds off until after then.

Wishing you all a good day. With special thoughts for grandMattie Marydoll and anyone with worries or health struggles.

Grammaretto Fri 08-Jul-22 08:39:21

Good morning everyone from the Scottish Borders where it is supposed to be another stunner of a day but no sign of it yet!
I am in the throes of visitors with more arriving but I managed to go on the U3A coastal walk yesterday and even got sunburned despite a hat and cream.
I hope you can arrange the procedure Mick it sounds important.
Sending loving thoughts to grandMattie and to Marydoll who has domestic nightmares on top of everything.
Have a lovely day eveyone.

harrigran Fri 08-Jul-22 08:41:55

Good morning from a sunny NE ?
Preparing for a week away but no heart in it as I still feel unwell. I also need to do some prep for DIL'S birthday do which will be at my house the day after we return from holiday.
Plumber has not received the part for my bathroom yet so still unable to use the en suite.
Going to be warm today but it is breezy so won't be oppressive.

Oopsadaisy1 Fri 08-Jul-22 08:42:52

Good morning from a sunny Chichester, we are going home today so that we can sit in the garden in the sunshine.

I’ve done Jury Service twice and hope I’m not jinxing it by saying that although I enjoyed it, I’m not really up for doing it again.

Best wishes to GM, Marydoll hope you soon start to feel better.
? Urms hope you come back soon

Hope everyone else has a good day and is able to enjoy the sunshine, even if it’s under a shady tree.

dragonfly46 Fri 08-Jul-22 08:46:50

I got out of Jury service because the first time I was having chemo and the second time radiotherapy!

Nannagarra Fri 08-Jul-22 08:47:01

Good morning from sunny Norfolk - sadly on our last day. I shall really miss this ultra-modern, well-appointed lodge which has given me lots of ideas. Why, oh why, do my own cupboards bulge at the seams with ‘stuff’? (Our DSs ask me this too.) Life could be so much easier!
?
Next week could see a Mrs Joe Gargery rampage in a house on the Sefton coast! Or maybe not…
Have the best day you can everyone.
