Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking like another hot sunny day with high temperatures here in brackley today.
Today an easy day with the Tour de France on TV ,and a British rider 3rd overall at the moment .
Which is making it an interesting watch .
Take Care,
Mick

Good Morning Sunday 10th July 2022
(53 Posts)Good morning Mick, a lovely sunny start here too.
I’m flagging a bit here after a chaotic fortnight so not planning anything much today.
We enjoyed the TdF yesterday Mick (I love seeing the scenery as much as anything else!) so will probably watch the mountain event today.
Have a lovely day everyone x
Morning Mick, morning All. A sunny start to our corner of Somerset.
Enjoyed a cooling river trip yesterday. Today just pottering around here, our son and granddaughters are calling this afternoon, must check the ice lollies in the freezer, think there’s enough
Hope gm, marydoll and all dealing with life’s difficulties can rest today. Be careful in the heat everyone, hope Sunday is gentle with us all.
Good morning from a bright sunny E Kent.
Had an amazing night’s sleep, didn’t wake up once, which is very, very unusual for me.
Had a very quiet day yesterday with DS watching 4 rugby games!
Church in a moment, then an empty for the rest of the day. I must remember to thaw out the goose which we’d bought to have Christmas in July. I still have a ginormous turkey in the freezer for same. DH did love his turkey.
Glad to see the norty steppers back again. Please take care of yourselves, everyone. Carpe diem. ?????❤️
Good morning all. A good night’s sleep is probably Nature’s best remedy to enable us to face the day isn’t it? Thoughts especially with you GrandMattie at this time.
My Dyson fan has been going all night (I love how silent it is) and I woke up to find Rosie across my feet in a direct line with the cool air! She’s not stupid that dog!
Time for tea and the papers but no real plans for the rest of the day apart from the Men’s final. As I don’t particularly like either finalist, perhaps I can enjoy the tennis “objectively* for once.
Wishing you all a gentle and pleasant day ?
Good morning from another lovely sunny day here in Essex by the sea.
We went out for an Indian meal yesterday evening, a local restaurant we have been going to for years.
This morning we will go out for coffee and a small shop. This afternoon I shall be watching the tennis.
Enjoy Sunday everyone and take care in the sun ? xx
Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull. I enjoy summer but not the hot nights we are thinking of installing air con into our bedroom.
grandMattie so good to hear you had a great night sleep. Enjoy your goose.
BlueBalou and Mick enjoy the mountain stage of the TDF.
I’ve got my little DGD laid next to me. She slept well. She’s watching nursery rhymes on Netflix. She was wonderful yesterday on our day out.
We were on the land train and she pointed behind me to a lady inches away and declared loudly ‘Grandma is that person very very old’.
‘ I said well she quite old just like me shhhh.’ Then again she pointed to her and said ‘is that old woman really really grown up then’. Kids!
DH and I just giggled.
I think I’ll need a nap later this afternoon. DS is popping over with GS at lunch so we’ll pop some burgers on the BBQ.
Have a lovely Sunday everyone and virtual hugs for those suffering stress illness and family worries ??
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 14° and slated to be mid 20s later. I have a washing on already and I'm going out shortly to water the garden. A quick shop at aldis when it opens at 9 and that's me done. I will be mainly pottering inside and out today. Roast chicken for dinner and berries with cream for after. Have a good day all.
Good morning all from (at last) a sunny Glasgow., it 15 degrees celsius.Woken up by that pain, but some magic pills should help hopefully. I am the only one awake, which is a first. I have sterophonic snoring, DH in one room and SIL in the other and wouldn't ahve been able to sleep longer!
A very quiet day for me, just pottering about. DD took me out for an hour yesterday and we went for a coffee, just for a change of scenery for me. Apart from the doctor's, I haven't left the house for weeks.
I did have to ask her to take me home, after an hour or so , as I was struggling, but it was so good to get a change of scene.
It is the anniversary of the death of DH's brother this weekend and he is still struggling with it, three years later. They had a special bond, some of you may remember how we spent hours sitting in A&E with him over the years. DH has become very introverted over the last few days and that's worrying me on top of everything else.
My parish priest is coming to see me today before he goes on holiday. He is obviously worried about losing his favourite sacristan!
.
I have warned the messy lodgers that they had better mend their ways (if only for an hour) and keep this house tidy!
Thinking of all those, who are struggling and hoping Mr Kalu is back home, in his own bed, being looked after by his own Florence Nightingale!
Baubles, I hope you got on OK at your hospital appointment and that things are progressing smoothly for GM.?
Wishin you all a pleasant Sunday.
Good morning all from a warm North Leicestershire. There is a gentle breeze too at the moment.
I am aiming to do some deadheading before it gets too hot and then, like Maw, watch the tennis objectively as I am ambivalent about the players.
DH has a butterflied leg of lamb marinating ready to barbecue this evening. I will just have to make a rice salad.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is well and truly up in South Yorkshire and it’s going to be a hot one. My tinnitus is very bad this morning for some reason. I can’t tune it out to will just have to put up with it and hope it calms down. I am going over to DD’s later, but the thought of getting into the car today is not very appealing when it’ll have been sitting in the sun for most of the weekend! I found a photo of DH, taken in our last house, doing the washing up! I’ve no idea who took it, one of the children probably. He looks his usual calm and happy self. I’ve pinned it up on my fridge so that I can look at it while I’m doing the washing up!
Right, time for coffee. Have the best day you can folks and drink lots of water.
Good morning everyone from a sunny Inverness, it’s forecast to be a gorgeous day
We’ve 8yr old DGS here today, he’s requested a game of crazy golf this morning with a picnic by the river and then to watch the tennis this afternoon - so that’s the day sorted. Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?
Good morning all from a beautiful Suffolk coast.
What a day we had yesterday! Friday evening awaiting DS1 and family, plus a friend and large dog - they suddenly arrived in a battered car, shocked with very upset teenage girls and DIL.
Coming up our small lane a fully grown deer leapt out of the hedges and crashed into them ! They managed to drive up to us with the bonnet covering the windscreen.
As we were getting to grips with what had happened, our ‘nasty’ neighbour came out complaining about the hubbub! Well he got what was coming to him and he actually apologised!
A lovely start to the weekend!
Yesterday was spent with ds1 on the phone to insurers . They would send a low loader to pick up car, sometime in the day!
They phoned to say they were 20 minutes away! Great……we thought. They were heading to Coastguard Cottages, …. DEVON!!!!!!!.
Eventually the car was picked up and their very good friend came to pick them all up in his very large car.
Goodness knows what would have happened if they hadn’t been close by to us. The Insurers were unhelpful, and useless!
No courtesy car available , wrong address et etc. !
A clearing up day today and hopefully stress free!
Watching Wimbledon this afternoon!
Take care all and watch out for leaping deer ?
Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.
I managed to stay upright on my walk yesterday so we keep going.
Today I will read my book in the shade of the tree listening to the water feature and keeping cool with the gentle breeze as I did yesterday. It is too nice to sit inside watching tv!
Wishing everyone the best day possible.
Good morning.
It looks to be another bright sunny day.
I think we may take a boat trip up the Fal or Helford river.
Hope you all have a good day and don’t forget to keep a water bottle with you.
Good morning from sunny Colchester. Going to be another hot one.
I am determined to finish the painting today and will only stop for the tennis this afternoon and Sunday roast pork this evening.
Love to all ? x
Gingster, your son and his family must have got a terrible fright.
It happened to us early on morning, after a late night vigil at the beside of the aforementioned BIL.
It was pitch black and my sister in law, who was driving, let out such a scream, as she had no idea what had hit the car.
Her son and his partner were in the back with me, having a meltdown. I can totally empathise with your son.
I hope their insurance company pulls their socks up.
Good morning from an increasingly sunny Crewe.
Yesterday, we enjoyed the chance to mooch around the retail park and found some bargain shoes in Shoezone. We have a branch in Torquay but I hadn’t realised that they stock reputable makes at bargain prices, having assumed the prices meant that the shoes were of poor quality.
Today is the day of DGD's show for which there is a technical rehearsal this morning followed by two performances at 2.00 p.m and 6.00 p.m. We shall go to the second one and I’m looking forward to it, not least because DH is with me. My DD2 is involved all day as a chaperone.
SiL and DGS2 are at football training this morning then I expect we shall watch the Grand Prix from Austria.
Thoughts with those going through sad times. Every blessing to all. ??✝️??
Gingster what a shock for your son and family. I'm glad no one was hurt xx
Morning Mick and All.
Blistering heat here in South Bucks ☀️☀️
Recovering from 12 days of looking after 2 DGSs. As the 11 year old went off to school on Friday he dashed back and I wondered what he had forgotten. He said ‘I’ve just remembered your leaving today so I have come back to give you a hug’ what a lovely lad. I felt very tearful.
So pleased you slept well grandMattie.
Hope you have the best day you can Mary you have so much to contend with ?
I want to naughty boy Kyrios to win today, as poor Rafa is out of Wimbledon. ????
Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny
Northampton.
Just catching up with yesterday's papers before today's arrive, then will have a quiet day at home.
Came back from a mooch around the shops yesterday with a lovely pair of cropped jeans, in a beautiful pale lemon, just right for my cruise!
Will sit and read in the garden again this afternoon, over half way through my book now. Not bothered about the tennis. An easy dinner this evening, cold roast chicken with new potatoes.
Have a good day, everyone.
Good Morning Mick and everyone from a sunny Oxfordshire.
An easy day today, as we came home early from Chichester I have a head start on MzOops birthday preparations for next weekend, it makes it an easier week for me, some folks are staying so I can sort out spare rooms today, if we had stayed away I couldn’t have done it early. And I marzipanned her cake last night, So much less stressful.
Apart from that an easy day with salad for lunch.
I must go and water the front garden though, as it’s all drooping.
Have a good day everyone and hugs for those who aren’t so chipper.
Morning, all! Sunny in Argyll. Also breezy at 16º, supposedly rising to a massive 19 later. If it were not for the midges and clegs of Argyll summers, this would be my favourite kind of weather.
Upland Enchanter's Nigthshade is flowering right on cue and so is the Den Rose – tiny buds and flowers. It grows partly out of an old brick wall.
Good wishes and wellness vibes to all who need them.
A beautiful summer morning here in Oxfordshire, so beautiful.
A day in the garden yesterday, with a visit from DD1 and GC, she collected the homemade soup for post chemo session tomorrow and a very large bunch of fragrant sweet peas.
Final day off before back to work tomorrow, hasn't really felt like a holiday, covid put paid to that!
Gingster so pleased no one was hurt, we live next to a large deer park so sadly accidents like that are common around here.
I wish everyone a calm peaceful day.
Good Morning everyone from sunny Severnside. What a hot one yesterday. I went to bed early and slept on int rather than in it.
I’m pleased to hear you had a good nights sleep Mattie.
What a day for you Ginster.
I won’t be watching the tennis. I cleaned the filter in the pond pump yesterday but it’s not put the problem right so I’m going to have a look at the impeller today and see if that works. First of all I’m going to patch the floor in the shed with a cement mix I’ve bought. I also need to make a new ‘honey do’ list as I’ve now got electric in the shed so will be able do jobs that need it.
After that, a shower and cook my chicken pieces that are in a marinade in the fridge. Reading afterwards.
Hope you all enjoy the day with family, tennis or whatever you get up to ????
