A quiet day for me no cycling due to rest day on Tour De France were what I have read the reaming riders will undergo Covid Tests , and tomorrow will either see numbers down as they had to withdraw because of Covid .
Its not happening in other crowd related events in UK or other .
Take Care,
Mick

We’ve just dropped DGS off for his lift to Lochgoilhead as he’s going to the week long ScotJam scout/cub camp there. He was quite nervous but hope he’ll be ok

Good Morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is just perfect weather for me.
I have had to fish out my summer clothes and patch the knees.
The AC are variously in hotter places: Italy and England. A picture yesterday of a poor DGD roasting in the heat. Luckily there was a cool lake nearby.
We had our picnic at the graveside yesterday. DH's mother was in very good form.
I am off to work this morning. I hope the till behaves itself.
I hope you feel better soon Marydoll
Take care grandMattie pace yourself for another big day.
A fascinating story Urms
Good wishes to all especially those dealing with pain and sadness.
Belated anniversary wishes Gingster

Good morning from a sunny Oxfordshire.
I’ve been out with MissOops dog early this morning, she refused to walk on the road and kept to the grass verge, when the verge ran out she stopped and refused to budge, so we turned around and came home, I think she expected me to carry her to the next patch of grass, Hah!

Another easy day today, just beds to change and a cake to ice.

Happy Anniversary for yesterday *Mr &Mrs Gingster*??

Marydoll hope you feel better soon, you deserve a break.

GM it’s good to be busy but don’t do too much or you will pay for it another day.?

Hope everyone finds a shady spot to sit in today, I’m off to sit under a tree and have my coffee. Have a good day everyone.

Oopsadaisy1 Mon 11-Jul-22 08:18:58

I didn’t realise that about the bees Urms interesting story.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's sitting at 12° but forecast to rise to mid twenties again. I know that's nothing to you southern folks, but it's quite warm enough for me! Grandmattie I hope you manage a nap. You must be worn out. Marydoll nausea is such a horrible feeling.
Yesterday I ended up at dd's. We were outside in the paddling pool for a while. Then generally sitting in the garden. Dd likes sitting in the sun whereas I don't so I came home after a couple of hours. I had a pleasant peaceful evening.
Today the window cleaner has been already. Then the paint for my front door is being delivered soon. That'll give me a job to do! So most of today will be washing down the door with sugar soap, sanding then painting. Chicken salad for dinner. Have a good day all.

Good morning Mick, morning all from sunny South Lanarkshire.

It’s was so good to feel the sun on my face for the past couple of days. I know the heat is uncomfortable for those living further south but it’s so welcome here after a very cool spell.

Love the bee ? knocker Urms.

Well done to your DGD Ash .

How lovely to have your DH home Kalu and for you to be able to enjoy a relaxing afternoon with your DD.

Thinking of you Marydoll and hoping the nausea abates.

Mattie, try to grab that nap ?

We had a lovely lunch yesterday then sat in our garden with cold drinks for an hour before my brother headed off to their Airbnb. We are going to visit them today for a little while.

Have the best day possible everyone. ??

Morning from S Lanarkshire, another warm day promised here too.

Yesterday I caught up with DD2 and family who have just returned from Lake Garda. They had a wonderful holiday in that beautiful area, but found the extreme heat a bit of a challenge. There were two power cuts which lasted several hours each and resulted in shops, restaurants etc all closing. They said the locals are dreading August.

Having been very busy recently, I am having a catch up day at home, eyes and ears require phone calls for appointments and a general tidy up is called for!

Wishing everyone a pleasant day and hoping that Marydoll and others who are feeling so unwell have a better day???

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Just seen DD1 and GS's off on their long journey back to Scotland. Lovely day yesterday with siblings and cousins meeting up for the first time in years.
I hope you get a snooze gM and that the nausea calms down Marydoll . Best wishes to all.
Love the bee knocker.

Kalu Mon 11-Jul-22 08:42:24

What a glorious garden GM. I have clumps of Crocosmia (sp) just beginning to burst into flower now. Your garden is such a beautiful spirit lifting sight. ?

aggie Mon 11-Jul-22 08:51:30

Good morning, still dull here , my sisters nearbye and further away are complaining about the heat , but it’s pleasant here in my micro climate
I’ve hung the washing out , did very little yesterday so better move about a bit more today
granMattie I hope you get the chance to recharge your batteries
Take it easy Marydoll even if you have an empty
I remember the battle of the tablets Kalu I had the chart on the fridge door , but it had so many amendments that it had to be redone often !
Wishing everyone a pleasant day and peace of heart

Blossoming Mon 11-Jul-22 08:53:45

Good morning Mick and all. It’s another lovely sunny day in my corner of Lancashire. Currently 19°C .

I was able to go for a walk yesterday, for the first time since my last bad fall. I will see how I feel later, I was very tired afterwards yesterday.

Safe travels to those out and about today.

Hope all our poorly grans are soon on the mend. Enjoy this sunny Monday everyone ??

harrigran Mon 11-Jul-22 08:59:47

Good morning from another sunny day in Northumberland.
Slept like a log last night.
Had lunch out at a water mill and then had a tour of the mill which has been in operation since 13th century. We went to a farm to see Shire horses, beautiful animals and there were two baby ones.
Today may be a beach trip.
Take care poorly people.

Beautiful garden Mattie

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

GrannySomerset Mon 11-Jul-22 09:30:59

Have just agreed with friend to postpone our planned visit to a NT garden as it’s really too hot to enjoy it. I therefore have an empty so the washing machine is busy and I am going to have a reading day. I feel flattened by the weather so it must be so much worse for the GNs who are already unwell. There really is no pleasing us with summer weather, is there?

hollysteers Mon 11-Jul-22 10:43:37

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
No plans today, might take some sun (with a hat). I like having brown legs.
Yesterday sat on the top of a high sand dune and watched the air show for free. The red arrows over the top of my head took my breath away. The dunes are at the bottom of the road and it’s MY sand dune, so strange to have intruders in it!
My DD in the south is coming up for the funeral of a close friend’s mother, but is not staying as originally planned. She is doing it all in one day because of work. I’m sorry not to see her and all the long distance driving is a worry.
Pic of my local dunes yesterday with perennial sweet peas in abundance.

.

Good morning Mick and everyone from a warm sunny Carlisle. At last! I have finally put my summer weight duvet on the bed and brought the fan out of the garage, though I don't feel the need of it yet. I had to go out and water my new plantings first thing. Yesterday evening I noticed a rhododendron sadly drooping and had to dash out with a watering can full for it. Hence getting the hose out early.
It's a housework and laundry day but I'm postponing the vacuuming, too much like hard work in this weather. I shall up the time reading instead, it's pleasant in the shade outside at the moment.
Love that door knocker, Urmston. Love bees.

I hope you have an improving day Marydoll and get some rest somehow grandMattie.
And have an enjoyable day all.

Feelingmyage55 Mon 11-Jul-22 11:23:11

A late good morning from a very sunny north of Scotland.
Yesterday was a scorcher and a few days of this will bring on the fruit bushes. I say a scorcher but still several degrees cooler than England. The greenhouse is soaking up the water like a sponge
I am off too see a friend this afternoon and have a long awaited catch-up.
There was a lot of aerial activity during the night ?
Best wishes to all especially Kalu, Baubles, GM and Marydoll.

Good morning Mick and all. We are up in Scotland now, staying in our flat that we bought last December, near to our daughter and twins DGSs (14). Our DD has chronic health problems so we try to help out in the holidays. She also has Covid now ?. SiL had it last week. We are visiting but sitting outside or just inside patio doors and she is wearing a mask when she comes downstairs. I reckon the risk is all round us anyway unless we go into isolation.
Even up here it was too hot to do much yesterday. I did a bit of weeding in DDs garden and came inside for a rest and some cool. I then had a faint while sitting on a chair (only momentary loss of consciousness but it was horrible). I spent the next couple of hours lying on the sofa with my feet up, feeling a bit sweaty and nauseous. I think it was just the heat. I maybe hadn’t had enough to drink. Feel ok today.
I hope Marydoll has a restful day and feels better. GM the garden looks lovely. I was propping up my Crocosmia Lucifer before I left home. I hope you get a nap today. Holly sorry your photo didn’t post. Urmstongran I love the bee door knocker - I had heard the story, it is a beautiful symbol to have.
Good to hear you managed a walk Blossoming. Well done with the pump repair Beechnut, I’d like a little water feature, had one in a previous garden - very relaxing. Kittylester your dementia course sounds interesting. We help at a monthly cafe for people living with dementia and their carers and any others who are on their own. A couple of the local care homes bring some of their people, who enjoy the change of scene.
GS1 (‘older’ twin is strumming pleasantly on his guitar upstairs). We are supposed to be going to the library to upgrade his Young Scot card so that he can get free bus travel. They want to go to Edinburgh with their friends. Mum isn’t keen. DS1 has autism and needs an eye kept!
Hope all you grans south of here keep cool ?
