Good morning all from East Yorkshire where it is cooler and dull.
We should have been in Amsterdam by now. Our flight was 6 am. Up we got at 3 for the short journey to the airport only to find the flight is delayed until 4pm. Latest update is 4.30. Apparently the incoming flight was hit by a bird and the aircraft needs to be checked by an engineer. He can’t get here till 1pm. We’re not happy at all as we will have lost a day completely with transfers etc. Tomorrow is the day of the concert in Maastricht so another transfer there at lunchtime tomorrow. I’m sure it will all be worth it then. We are seeing Andre Rieu. Today we just have to pass the time until it’s time to go. Good job we are only 20 minutes away.
Take care everyone.

Good morning Mick and everyone from a drizzly cooler Hull.
Mick enjoy your concert and trip to London.
grandMattie enjoy your walk with your friend today.
Oops your making me tired just reading your list of activities today.
Chrissielou so sorry to hear about your daughter finding life difficult she has so much to deal with. So worrying ?
We are having a run out somewhere today. We were going to the coast but we’ll go inland.
Grandmadinosaur enjoy your trip to the Netherlands and your concert.
Have a good day everyone and enjoy your activities. Hugs to those with stress and illness to cope with. ??
Sorry our posts crossed Grandmadinosaur. What an absolute pain for you. Travel at the moment is so fraught with difficulties. Such a wasted day for you.
My friends son and family went to Portugal on Saturday and their plane had to return to the airport as it hit a bird during take off!! Long delays ensued.
Good Morning all. Another bright sunny morning in the West Midlands. I'm dog sitting at my sons but forgot some essentials from home so an early morning walk means I've done 7000 steps already. Pilates later then home and then back to sons. Double watering duties too later. I want to dead head some roses but that may wait until tomorrow morning early when its cool. My thoughts are with Chrissielou's daughter. Chemo is an endurance test.
Good morning everyone from another bright and sunny ? day in Northampton. A Sainsbury's delivery due in an hour or so, must get showered and dressed before then!
Early.lunch, and out to dance classes. Then an evening health walk, followed by dinner at the pub.
Apart from that will take.it easy. Have a nice.relaxing day in this heat, everyone.
Good morning all from Glasgow, pleased to say a much less windy day and some snatches of sunshine.
Early start this morning as DH has two clinic appointments, firstly with his speech therapist followed by another with his surgeon and MacMillan nurse. All is, slowly but surely, going in the right direction.
I am pleased to hear you have such a good friend supporting you GM.
I’m in a bit of a rush now and will catch up later.
Best wishes to all for a good day.
I’m on my second cuppa. Here’s Matt.
Good morning everyone from south Manchester. The sun’s up, the click door to the verandah is wide open and I can hear various schoolchildren in their summer uniforms below chattering on their way to school.
“We have a problem Houston”.
Our little car is being looked at today by our friendly car mechanic. It’s 18y old and we don’t have any savings to buy another. I hope it’s not an omen that I received my first ever bus pass in the post last week!
With all your training on dementia issues kitty I expect you will be the ‘go-to’ person for your sister in law but I wonder because it’s family, if it’s not easy giving advice?
Have a good Thursday all who can.
Thank you Ashcombe.
Good morning from sunny W Kent. Off to art group this morning, the lady I sit with isn't there today, so I guess I will get a lot of painting done and a bit less chat.
Best wishes to all
Good morning from Northumberland where we have hazy sunshine.
Yesterday we spent the day at Floors castle, it really is impressive. We were less impressed with the courtyard cafe where we bought sandwiches, the cheese in GD's sandwich was mouldy.
Today is a rest day for me, I can not be on my feet all day every day.
There was a spectacular sunset last night but photos did not capture the deep red in the sky.
Stay cool and enjoy your day.
Sending ? for your DD Chrissilou
grandmadinosaur how frustrating but nothing you can do - hope the waiting time passes quickly and you have a wonderful time when you eventually get there!
Good morning Mick and everyone from largely cloudy Carlisle though the sun has just struggled out, probably temporarily. We had a heavy shower yesterday evening so no need to water the garden today. I hope to get out in it later to do a little planting out.
I've just done the ironing so apart from the odd little job, that's housework for the day. I really need to do some of my boring admin plus do some research on possible trips out. It's too easy to persuade myself to stay in and read or potter about in the garden.
Best wishes for better times for all the poorly.
Thank you Brook and * Shazza*
Good morning all from bright but cloudy Harrogate
Enjoy your trip Mick. Yes it’s a good idea to take water with you.
Good for you to have a trip out with a friend GrandMattie
You sound brighter Marydoll. Dollie does it again!
for your DD Chrissielou. Hope she feels the benefit soon.
Yesterday went supermarket shopping. Sainsburies is closed in Harrogate this week because their car park is needed for The Great Yorkshire Show which finishes today.
Today I have to wait in for two important phone calls. Will find plenty to amuse myself!
Have the best day possible folks
Good morning Mick and all. It’s sunny in my corner of Lancashire. Currently 16°C. It’s
Lots of visits and outings in the thread today, hope everyone has an enjoyable time without too much disruption. Don’t forget to keep hydrated.
to all going through difficult times.
Morning all from a muggy West Oxfordshire. I had a lie in and didn’t get up until 9 am! Bits and pieces to do today. I have the rest of my V&A lecture to listen to from last Friday, flowers to buy, things to post and an early dinner to cook. Probably sauté chicken. I am out this evening at a friend’s house. OH will probably spend the day researching Parkinson’s. He is convinced he has either that or Lymes disease. He has been tested for Lymes disease and the result was negative. Apparently there’s a second test. Sometimes he seems to be a hypochondriac with a small h. I try to be sympathetic but if he has the slightest twinge he thinks the worst. He does have restless leg syndrome and asthma…
Good morning everyone from a dull cool NI , my phone insists it’s raining , but it isn’t , maybe later or I’ll be struggling with the watering can
So many struggling Grans and Daughters
Hope you enjoy Tina Mick. It’s brilliant,. We saw it twice pre-pandemic (two different ‘Tina’s’! Made me think how things have changed in that time, three friends have sadly died and our health is such that we’ll never do a trip to a theatre or elsewhere again, sounds pretty depressing but not as bad as some people have suffered I guess.
My father always said ‘Just do the best you can’??
‘Tis nearly a ‘Good afternoon’ from me today, I completely forgot first thing ??
So far I have walked DDog for an hour at 6am, done an hour or so’s gardening, brushed the patio, cleared the pile of ironing and put it away, had a second coffee and now thinking about what’s next!
I started some simple embroidery yesterday, I had completely forgotten how relaxing it can be, so will carry on with that or crocheting this afternoon.
I fancied sitting out on the patio in the shade but DH has filled much of it with stuff from his shed (that he’s supposedly clearing out?) so will probably stay indoors.
Good afternoon Mick, Annie and all. I think I should be on the thread about staying late in PJ's. Having done a few chores before getting showered and dressed. I had to clean a window, again, after the birds bombed it, and will put out a second wash in a moment.
It is another beautiful day, not quite as hot yet , and I have a friend coming early afternoon for a catch up and a cuppa.
I made a few scones yesterday, and then knocked the flour container, which flew onto the floor and the lid popped open. What a mess, but not as bad as it could have been. I knew I was tired and then I get clumsy.
Sending hugs to GrandMattie in these early days. Also to Chrissielou's DD as she goes through her chemo treatment.
Nice to hear you a bit more upbeat Marydoll, but don't overdo things. Dollie will wear you out.
Hugs to all who are struggling. Have a good day one and all.
