How long do you stay in your PJs?

Just that really, I ask because it’s 10:30am and I’m still in mine, and this is quite normal for me.
Got up at 8:00am, had a leisurely breakfast, emptied the dishwasher, changed the sheets on the bed, did a bit of dead heading in the garden and now thinking about getting dressed so that I can walk the dog. Am I alone in this slovenly behaviour?

if I am not up and dressed by 7.00am, I am ill.

As long as it takes me to walk to the shower from my bed which is anytime between 6 or 8am. Can’t seem able to slob around like some people? not criticising.

Well, in our house, yes.

AGAA4 Thu 14-Jul-22 10:59:07

Always dressed before 9 am.

I don’t wear PJs. If I didn’t get washed and dressed as soon as I get up I might frighten people.

Up at eight, shower and dress. Wouldn’t dream of going outside in night clothes. Our neighbours do though. He waters his front garden in his pjs !!!!!

Weeks and weeks, because I'm a dirty, slovenly type of person, with no self respect. wink

Greenfinch Thu 14-Jul-22 11:07:56

Need to be up and dressed by 7.15 every weekday for the school run . Weekends I don’t get dressed until much later.

Millie22 Thu 14-Jul-22 11:11:24

And we're off again. It's the pj thing.

I don't have any.

Urmstongran Thu 14-Jul-22 11:12:49

I’ve only just had a shower (❤️ Badedas) and I’ve put on a clean pair of pj’s. Himself gets dressed. I often don’t bother unless I have to. We have an intercom system into the development. I could always scoot into the bedroom to get sorted should anyone call. We hardly ever get impromptu visits so it doesn’t fuss me.

Don't wear pjs but yesterday I was watering the garden braless in old t shirt as all the neighbours are away this bank holiday.Except one man who must have been bored. He and his baby stopped at the gate to chat.it was embarrassing and I couldn't think of anything to talk about.

missingmarietta Thu 14-Jul-22 11:17:43

I don't. As soon as I'm up I get dressed. It's about self respect, self esteem and self care [for me personally].

Chewbacca Thu 14-Jul-22 11:22:51

How long do I stay in my pj's? As long as I want to! If I've got people to see/places to go, I'll get dressed soon as I'm up; otherwise it's whenever I feel like it.

Callistemon21 Thu 14-Jul-22 11:27:42

You could be forgiven for thinking I'm still in my pjs

I'm wearing loose cotton trousers and a long t shirt. They're not pjs, honestly!

Callistemon21 Thu 14-Jul-22 11:28:58

(❤️ Badedas)

I'd forgotten all about that, thanks Urmstongran, I'm off to put some on my shopping list

I don’t wear pyjamas, but I have been known to wear a dressing gown until lunchtime. I do that my much less now I’m retired, as I’m not tied to a bloody computer half the week or more, but it isn’t uncommon for me to not get dressed until 11ish - up, tea, book, more tea, papers, more tea, book,.. I retired in part so I could say goodbye to rushing around in the morning.

Urmstongran Thu 14-Jul-22 11:58:48

? Calli!

ginny Thu 14-Jul-22 11:59:11

It depends what I’m doing in any particular day.
I never stay in them past around 10 ish though.
If I’ve a busy day and nothing happening in the evening then I might put them on early evening to relax.

Grandmabatty Thu 14-Jul-22 11:59:27

I reluctantly wear jammies at times as I don't want to die in my sleep and my family to be further traumatised by the sight of my naked body. When wearing them I won't change until ten o'clock or so if I'm not going anywhere. I would have to be dressed to be in the garden though as there is a pervy neighbour who would probably appear.

Pantglas2 Thu 14-Jul-22 12:03:59

I’m another birthday suit sleeper but have a dressing gown for when we have guests around and to trot and fill my morning chamberpot ☕️ in winter!

sodapop Thu 14-Jul-22 12:04:04

No nightie or PJs for me after 8am, my two dogs are waiting for their walk so there is no peace until I am dressed and out of the door. Just time for a quick drink of water first. Juice and breakfast when we get back.

BlueBalou Thu 14-Jul-22 12:04:25

I generally get up and dressed before going downstairs so to stay in pyjamas is rare unless I am I’ll. I usually get up by 7 or half past.

Doodledog Thu 14-Jul-22 12:12:42

I'm neither dirty or slovenly, and don't suffer from lack of self care, low self-esteem or self-respect, but I sometimes wear my pyjamas all day if I am in my own house, going nowhere and expecting no callers. They are comfortable, I will be washing them after 24 hours, it means my other clothes don't need to be washed, and (for me, personally) self-respect is gained from how I treat others, not superficial things like clothing.
