Following on from the wonderful bedroom chair thread, I wonder if you’re game to show your dressing table

It's a chest of drawers with a mirror from Pastimes. Mostly perfume. My make up and jewellery is in a drawer. On the right, blue package, my tickets for Andrea Bocelli ?. Large poster on wall Kings and Queens of England.

No dressing table here either just two bedside cabinets which, apart from lamps have virtually nothing on them due mainly to an into everything toddler grandson!

Now the bathroom cabinets - well that’s a different story!

Mine is quite tidy. I just took off the frames with my grandchildren.

Mine with some strange old lady in the mirror!

No bedroom chair or dressing table here.

Do you know it’s best to keep perfume in a cupboard because being in the light especially sunlight can make the perfume lose its potency ?

Am I the only one who does their makeup in a bathroom?
(When I wear any)

Why do people feel bad about being untidy? If they wanted to be tidy they would.
I am tidy because I couldn’t bear to be otherwise. I put things away and have as little as possible out. That’s just the way I am, it’s not because I’m good and you’re bad.
Stop worrying about it.

Thanks Lauran'. It's a bit more olive than it looks in the photo.

I can’t remember seeing one in France. I personally use the bathroom, as do my three DDs and GDDs. Do your DDs have dressing tables or are they out of fashion? We have larger beds and bigger wardrobes these days, so maybe there is not enough room for everything. I have a strong magnifying mirror attached to the wall, which visitors are horrified to see things. Make-up etc. is in a drawer, it rarely ones out now.

Strangely enough, this week, I've been looking at my chest of drawers top that houses literally every cosmetic I use and thinking there must be a way to tidy this up in some way. I'm currently searching for the perfect 'Dressing Table Organiser'. Something like this. Or maybe a nice seagrass one. Decisions decisions!

kittylester Fri 15-Jul-22 20:54:59

My makeup is in a soare room with better light!

Callistemon21 Fri 15-Jul-22 20:58:52

I've got one, LadyStardust, but it's not quite as smart as that. It does keep cosmetics, hairbrushes etc tidy.
It's in the bathroom, of course!

Seagrass wouldn't be so easy to keep clean imo

Me too. I love my bathroom mirror. I look 10 years younger in it than any other . At least I can go out feeling that I look good.

My daughter has a dressing room, never mind a dressing table!

No dressing tables in the house - computer desks, chest of drawers and bedside tables. All fairly cluttered - creams, pictures, books, woven bracelets. DGD got one for Christmas along with make up. She is 5 and has drawers for her make up, perfume, brush, jewellery. She loves it and me and Granma often get made up! Papa too sometimes. She wanted Papa to put eyebrow pencil on me last week. He was trying to use it in the wrong direction and got a terrible row! I. had one when I was a teenager and it had a yellow lacy skirt!

mokryna Fri 15-Jul-22 21:50:41

Before I moved here the dressing room (no windows and door taken off) was my third daughter’s bedroom.

Being untidy doesn’t bother me one bit.

tanith Fri 15-Jul-22 22:19:05

I don’t have one

Sago Fri 15-Jul-22 22:20:42

This is my dressing table at our holiday apartment, it’s always neat and because it’s a second home and not full of clutter every thing remains tidy!
